  1. Our approach to the oline this offseason is giving me vibes from the dollar store Dave days. But rattle off those excuses fellas. Won't do us any good come January though.
  2. Let's be honest. In one half of a preseason game we saw the summary of Sam's career to this point. Some jitters some scary some good and some potential. Who knows what we're going to get
  3. You don't necessarily need a top 10 you just need someone who can make the necessary plays or you know..push the ball downfield. I have much hope for our young defense but I fear familiar results await us with this offensive line.
  4. The Broncos aren't exactly known for their stellar quarterback evaluation and decision making over the years. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Denver_Broncos_starting_quarterbacks If Carolina isn't careful we could end up in similar qb purgatory. Except there won't be a Peyton Manning riding into town and the league won't be gift wrapping us a Super Bowl win.
  5. If the Panthers want fans to stop looking in the rear view they need to win. But praying quarterbacks like Teddy Bridgewater and Sam Darnold will take them to the promised land won't change much in the short term.
  6. NYJ 4th round pick from last year. Are we just stockpiling Jets failed players? And people thought we were going to bring in an upgrade over PJ Walker
  7. Look I despise the Saints but if you think Zoolander won't give us all we can handle with Winston you're dreaming. That's still a talented roster. I am eager to see our new pass rush introduce themselves to Jameis though.
  8. That list isn't exactly prestigious company. Some serious playoffs droughts in there. Let's hope some leaders stand out for us this season.
  9. It's weird right? Guy hasn't been on the job a year yet and if you ask any questions you get people giving you the stink eye. We all want the same thing but some of us have additional perspective through the failures of past front office executives so things will get looked at a little more closely now. So far there are things to like and things that seem like more of the same ol' Panthers. Like the oline. We're gonna find out soon
  10. Steve Smith was the definition of sideshow. He decked his own teammates and got into onfield altercations with opponents with regularity. Compared to that celebrations should be nothing to be concerned about.
  11. Man you know this situation is dicey when we're rejoicing over picking up the Bengals oline scraps.
  12. Never said it made me happy or sad just pointing out a fact same as you relax
  13. Criticism happens to every coach across every sport on every team. Fans are fans it's a results driven business. Rarely are new head coaches given the reins to a franchise already in great shape. Yet the issue that has been a thorn in our side for many years remains. The oline. All that matters is which direction the team is trending by the end of the year.
  14. Looks great now but 17 million of that goes bye bye next year when the cap hits of our two highest contracts go up.
  15. Reading the final pages of this thread it's clear this man is hazardous to the mental health of some folks regardless of where they stand. Maaaan move tf on.
  16. This is malarkey. The criticism stems from going from that guy to Teddy two yards and only mustering a single divisional victory. If Rhule brings the wins there will be few if any complaints. But it's his show. Not Cam Newton's not Luke Kuechly's not any former Panther you want to drag into this. The buck stops with the head coach. Ask Ron Rivera. Rhule and Fitt need some success in a big way for '21. This oline better hold up.
  17. I will be surprised if we bring in anyone who is a significant upgrade over PJ. Rhule has made it clear he does not want his starter looking over his shoulder. For better or worse this is probably it other than a practice squad arm.
  18. Considering the player he is now the odds of that are low. Even so if the opportunity happened to arise the actual number of Panthers fans who would root against the Panthers would be minuscule. We really must move beyond this Cam fan silliness from all angles. He will retire a Carolina Panther eventually and that will be all that matters.
  19. We won't know the truth behind what went down between Bill and Tom for some years. But what we do know is Brady went from a depleted at best roster to an absolutely stacked team in the Bucs who retooled on top of it and have added even more this year after their title run. Yes he's the goat but he is not making chicken salad out of chicken poo by any means.
  20. Tell that to Tom Brady who hightailed it out of town when he saw the Patriots roster he was going to be working with in 2020.
  21. The Temple/Baylor connection isn't to the point that it is greatly concerning. But you also can't entirely dismiss it either due to the glaring failures of Carolina's last two head coaches whose own brand of loyalty and stubbornness ended up being their downfall despite being our two most notable hires in franchise history based on their success though limited it ultimately was. Matt Rhule has other attributes that make up for this and separate him so far. But this is a very important season and excuses for losing should be in short supply regardless.
  22. Wherever he goes they will either learn the hard way or limit his pass attempts as the season goes on. That's been the question all along. His arm hasn't lasted a full season since what 2017? But if Cam wants a shot at a starting gig covid protocols are going to limit his viability anywhere he goes with his current status.
