Of course other teams are watching but unfortunately for us OUR front office was the only one dumb enough to give up what they did for Darnold and they drove up the price for him. Now they are even more desperate. We would be giving them far too much credit to believe they are not doing the same here for a far more established young talent.

"Bottom of the class": Bruce Feldman talks Combine quarterbacks
frankw replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean I would be fine with just putting on a blindfold and stumbling our way into the top pick next year but it isn't going to happen and it is only making ourselves more miserable dreaming about it. Tanking is not plausible here. I also don't think Sam Darnold has the support of the team anymore. We are already having a hard time keeping players without overpays. You want to tell a young player hoping for his big contract to waste another year watching Sam Darnold lob a football straight to multiple defenders? -

Drafting a QB is crazy but giving up five first round picks is genius -
Sure we are. Other teams have already sniffed around balked at the price and peace'd out. Denver was one of them. Miami seemed to be the most likely destination then they called it quits. All we have now are rumors of teams that might have interest which is just more smoke and mirrors. Do not give this regime too much credit after the Darnold fiasco.

It's definitely wishful thinking to not only already be hyping a QB class next year nobody knows will pan out and just assuming we will have a top pick. That "next year" mantra has been ongoing and is getting stale. Not only that for some reason people seem to be under an illusion that we will draft one hit and be done. If you think it works that way for every team you're in for a very rude awakening.

He can't be worse than Sam Darnold or PJ Walker.

Tepper hired a private investigator to look into Deshaun Watson
frankw replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I tend to agree in part that hate has been getting out of hand. It should be noted though not to confuse that with legitimate criticism. And just as David Tepper doesn’t need everyone in the fanbase despising him he also does not need his own unpaid staff of yes men here who will rise to his defense bc he is a billionaire. But as for the coaching hire most would agree a consultant would have been quite beneficial. Many folks took a look at Rhule's record in college and weren't exactly blown away. The selling point was the reputation as a "builder". But looking at oline and QB and our odd collecting of cornerbacks that hasn't exactly been a plus -

But we live in a time where there is little room for such distinction. And the NFL in particular is a league that has had a lengthy list of abuse. If people have been watching all this time it is reasonable to point out the hypocrisy. It is a very American issue as we all have blinders on to a degree. -

So if it's not on your team no harm no foul? Sounds like performative outrage. -

So you stopped watching the NFL after the Ray Rice video and all the other documented instances of abuse right? -

If Tepper actually trades for Watson will you be leaving? If so that's a silver lining. It ain't much but it'll have to do. -
POLL: What is the Main Problem for the 2nd-half skid?
frankw replied to bLACKpANTHER's topic in Charlotte Hornets
Hayward is a big loss but after four years that alone should not send us tumbling to the cellar of the Eastern conference. We need a new coach. -
Any new thoughts @Warpath202?

You're making sense to me. Now to see what the front office does. The gist of it was they were saying there were too many Celtics fans and it shouldn't happen. Well the team is horrendous maybe focus on that? What do I know though.

Move whoever we have to in order to fully capitalize on our all star who is only 20 years old. What good are shooters if they are putting up bricks and air balls every night? When you pair that with the horrific defense and lack of a real big man we are just wasting our time.

Melo staying here and maximizing his potential should be the highest priority. I'd love to keep Bridges but someone has to be the odd man out to build this roster right. You're right about Gordon now we have an anchor holding us back. I don't think JB will last past another season. Eventually Spectrum Center will start looking like BOA with the Panthers these days. Somehow folks saw fit to call out the fans in the midst of this stinkfest stretch they've been on. That damn sure isn't going to help.

Need a coach that knows how to get the best out of young players and will actually play them. We overpaid a star who is having the same injury plagued season he has on his last two teams. We have a possible young superstar in the making who is only scratching the surface and I honestly wouldn't blame him if he bolted as soon as he gets the chance. I wouldn't bet the house on this mediocrity changing as sad as it is to admit. But first and foremost they gotta get a different coach. This can't continue.

It may be time to blow it up tbh.

Wentz to the Washington Football Team Commanders for 2 3rd rounders
frankw replied to NCTHFL0567's topic in Carolina Panthers
That's hilarious. I would love to get a reaction from that Washington fan that showed up here after the game last year talking up Heinecke as the next franchise QB. -
"A place where I can continue to win" pretty much eliminates us from the jump.

Yeah I don't buy this either. Seattle is more likely than Pittsburgh to make a play for Watson.
