Now Tom Brady needs to take his ass to Miami.
-
Yeah that's been his whole shtick for 11 years running with Cam now it's just somebody else. It's played out.
-
Yep it sure would be nice to already have a young drafted QB with a season or two under his belt to go along with that. We've known the obvious since early 2019 and here it is 2022 and we are still on the fence.

Every thread it's the same one or two old timers wailing about mobile QB's. We get it. How many times can you shout the same take into the void? We get it you don't want the guy. Take it to Twitter or Facebook with the rest.

Don't hate Rhule. Don't hate Sam. I do hate the fact that we were ripped off by one of the worst run franchises over the last two decades because we were the only team foolish enough to actually make the trade.
-
Of course some still think he could be good. Kyle Allen had his little fan club too. If there's one thing that some in this fanbase love it's a shitty QB who carries himself to their set standards.

Most teams lose because they don't know why they lost.

I focused less on that and more on the part about wanting to coach players that love football. That sounds good. Too bad he thought Sam Darnold was one of those players. Think he was impressed with how much Sam loved football as he walked back to the bench without a care in the world after that pick six against the Patriots? -
Not propping anyone up. The Colts are miles ahead of the Panthers at this point though. We were swept by the NFCE (lol) who are we to judge? If you want to take that out on me tee off I guess. Thanks for the input pal.

Carson Wentz isn't even a good QB but he's looked a hell of a lot better than Sam Darnold has in the past and Jim Irsay just went scorched Earth on him. If Tepper did this with Sam Darnold I might have to give him a golf clap. https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/eagles/colts-owner-jim-irsay-blasts-former-eagles-qb-carson-wentz-after-trade

I agree about the upcoming season. But I do not see the locker room surviving 17 games of Sam Darnold. Just because it is a wash does not mean it has to be a shitshow. Let's be honest the return of Cam Newton was a moment that happened right on time as you could see tensions boiling over. I also don't buy Rhule is guaranteed to be gone don't give Tepper too much credit yet he hasn't earned it.

Rhule says giving CMC fewer reps at RB diminishes his value
frankw replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nobody here wanted to get rid of one of our best players they either wanted us to use him intelligently or get value out of him while he still has some. That is what is best for the franchise. You should consider if you are a fan of the Panthers or a fan of one particular player because you sound like the latter and that's unhealthy. -
Nobody believes in Sam Darnold. And the NFL does not exist to do stupid poo like start the worst QB in the league to spite the head coach you hate. They are not tanking. Everyone knows this team would take virtually anyone else they all saw us begging Deshaun to play here despite all the public turmoil that surrounded him.
-
Excuse me sir I am a Panthers fan first. Continuing with the worst starting QB in years (check the stats) to appease his fans is not helpful to my team.
-
It should be about what's best for the Panthers not Sam Darnold or Matt Rhule. If it's best for us to send the mole packing even if we have to eat the cap hit then do it. Stop kissing frogs as Florio said.
-
When he's still throwing backbreaking interceptions will you Darnold fans be gone finally? It might be worth it for that.
-
At this moment I am on the anyone just please not Sam Darnold train. I would watch Teddy two gloves again before another rerun of 2021. If you don't see one you like in the draft just ride with Walker.

Rhule says giving CMC fewer reps at RB diminishes his value
frankw replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Only way is down 30 is the wall and he's been hobbled by injuries two years in a row. Either you risk it and keep using him like you have or you pull back and his relevancy fades and with it his value. I don't think Rhule is using coach speak here he is going to continue to let CMC loose and if it doesn't work it may be a problem for a different coach altogether in another year. -
I'm fine with it but let's not pretend it will just end here. This is going to keep going on and on someone has to lose and nobody likes it when it's their turn and the rules will be a focal point again somehow. The biggest reason will be the sketchy calls and the calls not made as the refs continue to have an impact on outcomes. That will always bring another controversy.

Rhule says giving CMC fewer reps at RB diminishes his value
frankw replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Who believes nonsense like this? It was not just one nagging injury they were holding him out for out of just precaution. It was multiple. You were so eager to attack anyone who said we were running him into the ground when his rate of usage was discussed now you are calling people Rhule boot lickers lmao. Get a grip. -
The hip thing to do last spring was shriek Adam Gase's name anytime a hint of doubt was expressed about Sam. It was always entirely possible and likely both he and Sam were bad but you couldn't talk some into that. With Tannehill he at least looked competent as a passer early on. But honestly even he is being overrated in comparison to Darnold to make Sam look less bad.
-
Well maybe this is what he should've done all along. But most fans will remember him getting in front of cameras and microphones often to engage in a public back and forth with the best quarterback in franchise history back in 2020. If he can do all that he can at the very least issue a public statement about the state of the team as other owners have done.

Rhule says giving CMC fewer reps at RB diminishes his value
frankw replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
This fanbase has always had an odd infatuation with him some of it is that and some of it is they are just homers. But CMC wouldn't be the first to wash out with injuries after being the best back in the league for a season or two. -

This was all a contentious debate early last season until the wheels fell off. Fun threads to revisit.
