  1. $15 million per season is actually a very reasonable contract all things considered. He's a Panther now so I hope he balls tf out. This defense is going to be a force in the NFCS. I think that side of the ball is going to undoubtedly have to win us some games this year. We'll see how it goes.
  2. The Super Troopers mustache is impressive. I'm on board.
  3. So just to be clear after this signing which is about as transparent of a move anyone should need that our FO is completely invested in maintaining Bryce Young's comfortablility in year 4. Are the folks who have in the past argued Dan Morgan was just blowing smoke when he has said time and time again over the past few years that he is a firm Bryce Young believer and fully invested in his future willing to acknowledge they were wrong? Dan Morgan is not being controlled by David Tepper. This is who he is. This is the path he has chosen. Might as well accept it.
  4. My first instinct is to be livid. But these jokers are tying their jobs to this so let them make their bed. And on the flip side. Seeing what Canales managed with Bryce Young last season who knows what he could do with Pickett if need be if it came down to it. I still want us to draft a developmental QB.
  5. Falcons signed Tua the Bucs lost Mike Evans. This division is still open. Man we better pursue a real backup QB. If not at least draft one with ideal size and a real NFL arm in the mid rounds. Anything is better than no real backup plan.
  6. Pickett has been the rumored name from some of our local beat reporters. *cue laugh track*
  7. Not sure what Dan's plan is with C but he's playing with fire.
  8. Well. If we were going to swing this big. I'd rather it be this than an ILB. Leave that for the draft.
  9. Damn. Certainly risky. If he's a real dog and brings more attitude to the DL I'm gonna hope for the best.
  10. That's a big damn chunk of change. This guy better stay healthy and ball out.
  11. The guy is about to be set for life regardless. He sure isn't being victimized by anyone on the huddle. Put away the violin okay?
  12. LB is going to take some time and we are going to have to plug in draft picks too. Lloyd is a tempting piece but I feel like we are expecting him to save the entire unit and we've already learned the hard way things don't always work out like that. He isn't a bad player. But logic and our experience as a franchise dictates It will probably end up somewhere in the middle. But that to me is not worth an overpay with all the needs we have. However if he becomes a Panther I will hope for the best and support him until he gives me a reason not to.
  13. There are things to be optimistic about certainly but there are also things that we should absolutely be as realistic as possible about to avoid setting ourselves up for heartbreak. As far as right now I say talk to me after the draft. We can chase all the free agents we want. Drafting well is the only way back to relevance and legitimate competition for the playoffs and beyond.
  14. This guy up late pooing posts over Dan Morgan talking about others whining lol You gonna throw down over your favorite GM too if anyone dares to say anything that could be perceived as critical? Folks like you used to behave the same way over Scott Fitterer. How'd that work out?????
  15. The issue with kicking the can down the road in regards to the cap is it all depends on the returns you're getting. Is this group worth going all in on for the 26th passing offense and a group that backed their way into the playoffs with the help of the Falcons? For me I would be more inclined to do what we can within the limits of reason and not treat this offseason like we have to fix everything in one swoop. Because that has also not worked out for us in the past either.
  16. Unfortunately I don't think they're ready for playoff expectations yet honestly.
  17. Nobody is asking for perfect. But 20 million a season for an ILB who was the slowest run tackler amongst all ILB's is not exactly a slam dunk either. For me the issue is overpaying FA's to bandaid key units. It's not a sustainable path. The only way this franchise is going to emerge as a consistent contender again is nailing the draft. Anyone here on the huddle or across social media can sign the best FA's.
  18. https://blackandteal.com/nfl-analyst-reveals-why-jaguars-won-t-lose-sleep-if-devin-lloyd-leaves-bill-barnwell "He racked up five picks, including that pick-six of Patrick Mahomes that fueled a famous Jags victory. The effort concerns disappeared," Barnwell wrote. "Lloyd managed 1.5 sacks and 10 knockdowns as a blitzer. He wasn't a great run defender, as Lloyd took longer to make tackles on run plays (5.1 seconds) than any regular off-ball linebacker in the league and made both run tackles and stuffs at below-average rates. But Lloyd was impactful enough against the pass to earn a deserved trip to the Pro Bowl."
  19. The desperation also applies to the OL. He spent $150 million on two interior olinemen and we still gave up the 16th most sacks in 2025. And now we have voids at LT and Center. And when you add in the 2024 draft of trading up for both Xavier Legette and Jonathan Brooks in the first two rounds. Ohhh wee mayne....
  20. Someone needs to kindly clue in our decision makers that we are trying to move past joke status and rebuild our reputation. How are the Saints more competently addressing QB than us? They have a 2nd round pick who is arguably better than anything we have. Yet we've got names like Pickett floating around. Shed the poverty tendencies already!
  21. Logically you would think with us having a former LB for our GM that we wouldn't have to overpay an FA who peaked in a contract year and whose team seems to have no interest in retaining his services. I mean I do like the player but there's a whole world of middle ground between liking him and paying him 20 million a season. It seems like some folks are too eager to carry water for anything Morgan does. We've already done this with past GM's.
  22. Well let's just hope it's more speculative than anything at this point in time. Bringing in Pickett basically defeats the purpose of cutting Dalton at a cap loss if they fail to find a trade partner which seems like the obvious outcome on that front. I see no reason why we can't at least do marginally better. And at the end of the day it is the most consequential position on the football field.
  23. We are definitely making much welcomed progress. But the bar for me is winning a playoff series. Anything beyond that is a bonus. But if we want to do that then we're going to have to figure out how to get past teams like the Heat. Just have to wait and see how they finish the season.
