Sam Darnold has the sheer physical talent to win a Super Bowl. He can make any throw at any moment. His talent is that impressive. But the mental aspect and the pressure of the brightest lights like you said is the key hurdle. In that regard he has something in common with Daniel Jones. Both can wow you and both can turn a game into a nightmare. Just have to see what transpires.

Hurricane Dan put on a masterclass FA signing this offseason
frankw replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we're speaking truthfully he didn't inherit anything he was directly a part of the decision making process that brought us both Young and Dalton. And he has kept the QB room intact aside from third string UDFA and other practice squad level QB's like Hendon Hooker and Mike White. If the owner pushed for it he should be willing to pushback and tell his boss they must do what is best for the team this go around. We cannot repeat that same mistake three years in a row. Such would be unforgivable. -
24 points for Kon against the Jazz in a blowout win. Ace Bailey got himself a poster dunk but that was pretty much it. Credit due to Miles Bridges he's bounced back in a big way we need consistency from veterans like him.

We're still winning in spite of our QB room that he assembled. It remains to be seen how long we can sustain that. -
Are you in favor of resting Dowdle this week?!?

Divisional games this time of year are usually hard fought. We thought the Saints were a relatively easy matchup last year in the season opener and things went sideways in a hurry. It should be all hands on deck if they are able to play. -
Either drink less or get some help you lunatic. You're up late mad for absolutely no reason pooing posts and you say my I'm wrong but you are the one who doesn't know what the hell you are talking about. https://www.espn.com/nfl/game/_/gameId/401671882/vikings-rams Get bent.

In fairness the Colts have the NFL's leading rusher in Jonathan Taylor and they had Daniel Jones throw the ball 50 times. Unwise.
-
Darnold had 35 passing touchdowns last season and looked to be on a team assuredly primed for a run until he met the Rams in the playoffs and had an historical meltdown He's seemed to have found his stride in the regular season since leaving Carolina. It remains to be seen if he will ever be successful in the playoffs.

Former Falcons head coach Dan Quinn's Commanders team getting absolutely throttled at home. How unfortunate.
-
Most folks are enjoying an impressive road win against a playoff team myself included. You're one of few who are taking this opportunity to throw other players under the bus to shield your guy instead of praising the key players on both sides of the ball who fueled this win

Ultimately we did overpay there's nothing wrong with acknowledging reality. This is the Panthers. That doesn't mean he isn't a quality contributor. As long as we continue to play him to his strengths no one will be complaining about his contract.

We're going as far as the Rico Dowdle locomotive will run. Enjoy the win and take things one week at a time.

The Niners and their fans are trash.

I don't think anyone would expect any less from Chuba he's a great teammate and a professional. At the same time he's also being compensated quite well so that certainly helps in adjusting to the circumstances.

Acting as if QB doesn't matter is absurd. That's the first game this season Tee Higgins has reached 100 receiving yards BTW. He's been averaging 40ish yards a game with the QB's he had been playing with.
-
Ah yes I figured it would only be a matter of time until the usual suspects pivoted right back to the "we have no talent" poor Bryce Young everyone but him is "straight ass" arguments. And you simps wonder why the majority of this message board is turning on you.

OFFICIAL Panthers @Packers GameDay Thread
frankw replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
That's only one of the posts you've made trashing DB my guy. At least half your posts since the season started all revolve around complaining about others opinions and complaining about the huddle and every single time it is about Bryce Young criticism. If you're going to go well out of your way to bash cornerstone players and leaders like Derrick Brown while not offering the same scathing criticism for the guy who had THREE turnovers in that same Jaguars loss then you are fully a clown who deserves to be ridiculed into oblivion. -

Buddy can make posts like this in 2025 with a straight face but will immediately act indignant to anyone that isn't fully simping for Bryce Young. -
There are people like that in every fanbase. We have folks like that here. A few of them currently have had exactly zero words of praise for the defense that they have condemned the last few months or Rico Dowdle or our kicker or anyone else for that matter that heavily contributed to this impressive road win. Speaks for itself. They don't care about the team. Only simping.
-
Absolutely pathetic he got flagged for that. If it had been at our expense there would have been no flags.

Where would we be right now with a real franchise QB?
frankw replied to KillerKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
The only one taking the opportunity to turn this into simping here is you. Most other people are celebrating our defense that came to play and was opportunistic Rico Dowdle who quite literally carried the offense including a thunderous long run on the final drive and our young kicker who had a very clutch game winner in windy conditions in a tough venue. -
Well the reality of the matter is we invested in the OL and particularly the interior OL through the nose the way we did as a direct response to protecting and giving our QB a chance. And we've changed gears entirely and became an old school ground and pound team. It's still way too much to pay to have such an anemic passing game.

Who is ya'll and why are some of you so hard up to carry water for a QB whose bar for acceptable standard is essentially on the ground floor now? We aren't starting a late round pick. He's not Mr. Irrelevant. If you think asking for us to revamp this QB room and bring in actual legitimate young competition is somehow being a bad fan then you are insane.
