Our passing defense improved (from 15th to 4th avg yards per game) but the run defense based on avg yards per game was worse we dropped from 12th to 13th per espn.com numbers. Based on what little we did to improve our dline after seeing talent walk it would be a tall order to make a jump there if anything a step back is likely.

Week 1 General Discussions - Talk to me about the Browns
frankw replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Seems to be a number of people who don't don't have much confidence in Stefanski as the head coach. I'm expecting Rhule and Co to handle business and not get worked over again. -
Ron was mediocre and needed to be fired but he still drinks Matt Rhule's milkshake who can't even hang with Joe Judge. Both things can be true.
-
Why do you keep trying to drag politics into discussions about our head coach? His record is what it is and that is the opposite of good. If you can't handle it being discussed you can choose not to open this website or these threads. He is a undeniable downgrade from the last head coach we moved on and that is a fact you are going to have to live with until he can prove otherwise this season. I hope he does I want a competitive team. But in the meantime I'm not going to engage in this self deception about his current record to appease your bizarre need to be a sycophant 24 hours a day. We will know some things for sure on Monday.

Cleveland's run preferences vs our defense's strengths and weaknesses
frankw replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Are we supposed to be holding the Saints in high regard? They've been on the decline for the last few seasons. Now without Brees and Payton they are supposed to be getting shellacked. And we should be one of the teams giving the ass kickings but instead we have three divisional victories in two seasons. -
Cleveland's run preferences vs our defense's strengths and weaknesses

If someone says "the run defense was not as bad as you think" I say the stats show we gave up 245 rushing yards to Dallas at 7.2 yards a pop. -
It's good to have a starter that isn't a milquetoast and I don't care one way or another about the shirt but it's put up or shut up. You gotta show out Baker.
-
It's just him and poundaway giving each other high fives over how many L's they've taken. You just have to let them have their little moment sometimes.

Panthers official unofficial depth chart is now out !!!

Rhule loves him. -
Peter King is still one of the worst.

Blowing up my notifications skulking around my user profile. Got you in your feelings honey. Just take it easy.

Calling me Chuck repeatedly doesn't make it so stop listening to the voices inside your head. Truthfully if anyone types like him it's you. Strange tbh.

You're on account number three and still crying about what Igo posts like anyone gives a damn. Stay in your lane.

We're no better off now than we were with that buffoon big guy. Hell at least with Marty and Ron we could compete in our division which is now weakened significantly. This regime truly has no excuse to be a doormat this season.
-
Idk if connecting this with one of Hurney's many busts is the flex you think it is. Especially considering one of our recent 2nd round picks all but has one foot out the door.
-
We still suck until proven otherwise though Ricky Bobby.

CBS hates Matt Rhule it's a conspiracy.

Weather looks concerning for home opener.
frankw replied to thunderraiden's topic in Carolina Panthers
Don't bother looking at the weather forecast until at least Friday it could end up being a nice sunny day. -
You only see this as a quick chance to score points because you have always carried water for him and got your feelings hurt in past threads. While all it does is show at one point I was very pro Rhule and not one of these dreaded "haters" you huff and puff about in every thread that has any level of criticism about Matt Rhule. The 2020 season did show some definitive promise. And in so looking at his way of doing things like dumping Teddy and players like Perryman sounded good but it eventually became a matter of is this guy operating with a real plan or any kind of framework or is he just throwing poo at the wall hoping something sticks. As of now it is looking like the latter. If you're arguing otherwise stand by that.
-
Oh we're digging up the old threads now. You know it almost sounds like "we" even myself included gave Rhule the benefit of the doubt at that time. But last I checked though the record reflects a 5 win season and some decisions we may have looked at one way back then looking different now. You choose to view this through a lens to direct criticism back at me instead of correctly assessing the move with the benefit of time. And yes we got Cade Mays but we didn't need that pick from the Raiders to accomplish that he was a 6th round pick.
-
He signed a 63 million dollar contract and was given the keys to the franchise. My goodness cut the waterworks here.
-
It wasn't a bad decision? What was the line from Rhule when the move was made. That he wasn't a "fit"? He got a speeding ticket big whoop. Shi Smith got arrested and he turned it around. It fits a pattern of overall impatience with this regime which ironically enough that same impatience has cost us significantly in both draft capital and salary cap space with various decisions. At the end of the day people who want to excuse it will do so and if that's the case here that's your prerogative.
-
Folks will sing the company line rn but if our run defense is cheeks come Oct you know what time it will be they'll be screaming lol.
-
Mostly everyone applauded moving on from Teddy Bridgewater yet we went on to replace him with a far worse QB for even more investment. People have given the decision makers the benefit of the doubt in the past but they have been spotty at best. Any skepticism now has been well earned that's just reality.
-
He is offering an opinion not based around being a kiss ass all the time. Yes the staff can and will make some mistakes. Like when we signed an LB then traded him while we went on to become thin at the position and he went on to become a pro bowler.
