  1. Legette is still an unknown. But the Brooks pick is and was at the time a huge risk. At least our first round pick has seen the field over the majority of the season. Regardless we need to clean house of the draft scouts. We have been drafting the same mold of WR going back to TMJ and enough is enough.
  2. The issue is that performance is the bare minimum of what's expected from any starter. We talked up that Chiefs game to no end then Aidan O'Connell went out and put up an even more impressive game and outperformed Mahomes. Then he went out and had one of the ugliest games of the season against the Bucs. O'Connell is a backup at best. We don't have to like it but our first overall pick is in a similar boat.
  3. The issue is any progress Bryce Young has made over the course of his short career thus far has been one step forward two steps back. At the end of the season we will have 28 starts between this season and last from which to evaluate him. And the above is to me the best you can say on his behalf when logically assessing that game tape.
  4. Well I'm glad we can see eye to eye on that but it appears there are still other people not convinced. I see the Bryce situation as this. First season the team around him was bad. He was also quite bad too. Second season we went the extra mile and then some via steep investment in free agency and the draft to attempt to solve this dilemma and to the detriment of the defensive roster in the meantime. Now fast forward to 14 games into the season and we've spent a significant amount of discussion on both the defense that we put on the back burner for Bryce Young and the additions we brought in. Some of that is logical. But we have to circle back to where this all began. Bryce was billed as a franchise changing QB who would not need elite talent across the board. That cannot be stressed enough. So to me these discussions about his supporting cast or lack thereof eventually lead to me asking when does he begin elevating those around him instead of the other way around? That's what a first overall pick is supposed to do.
  5. Right Pittsburgh isn't the only singular team this can be applied to. But there have been other teams that have traded a talented wide receiver the last several years that didn't go on to become a complete dud and embarrassment for their new team. Unfortunately for our Panthers it's looking like we simply do not have a knack for identifying talent at the position either via draft or trade. Sobering truth.
  6. Idk about that correlation I see your point in theory but on one side is a prospect who has never had a chance in the NFL yet on the other side is someone who has already made a rep for himself with his team and not in a good way. Anywho as far as salary cap and this franchise goes it's just more for the fire right?
  7. Well yeah there are only 3 games left and Andy Dalton obviously has no future here whatsoever. The fact our first overall pick can have awful games like last Sunday and the best response we have is "well we don't have anyone else that isn't terrible" is a sad state of affairs but that's your Carolina Panthers.
  8. Wanting competition for a 2nd year QB that is 31st in passing yards should not be a controversial stance. It's common sense.
  9. You should be getting paid by his PR team for your work here. Truly dedicated.
  10. The Steelers have casually moved on from a number of talented receivers over the years while other teams couldn't wait to bring them in and profit off their supposed "mistake". Well clearly they don't make mistakes in that area. Diontae Johnson should be the one that finally sends that clear message to the rest of the league. All I'm saying is. If you need a WR and one is available or coming available from Pittsburgh use your brain and keep looking elsewhere. Just a big waste of everyone's time.
  11. Sure if you give them a pass for being foolish enough to think the Steelers were letting a really good WR go for peanuts in the first place. He's what he's always been he hasn't changed at all since leaving Pittsburgh. Hopefully a lesson learned for our front office.
  12. Alright let's keep it real here. None of us can say that one way or another. All we have to go by is what Stroud and Young bring to the table from a physical standpoint and from a matchup standpoint. If we were to insert Stroud into this offense all along defenses instantly have to change their whole gameplan. He can make throws at all levels and in tight windows. He has a bigger frame so they can blitz all they want but he won't be taken down by a light gust of wind or getting a single finger laid on him. Would he have taken his lumps? Absolutely this is the Panthers. But he would be a completely different matchup behind center. That can't be understated.
  13. I hear you brother. But I am now past the point of wanting to see that this season. We're dead in the water. We're not winning anything for the culture going forward from here on out in the remaining games. We have so many needs. I'm not saying tank or any nonsense like that. I'm just saying it doesn't matter one iota anymore what he looks like when there's nothing left to play for anyways. Let the young guys get their reps these last few weeks and head into the offseason with a lengthy list of issues to address. Beginning with the QB room.
  14. DJ Moore wouldn't be saving this Bryce Young led offense. Still it was a stupid thing to do to trade our best WR by far for a small QB with a so so arm at best. Stroud was the only one worth what we gave up and I said so at the time but many many people wouldn't hear a word of it. But it's all water under the bridge. DJ Moore is a Bear and all that mess there is his problem. We need legitimate competition at QB at bare minimum this offseason. And bring in another offensive weapon for whomever the QB may be next season.
  15. I just don't get why we can't acknowledge that regardless of extenuating circumstances our first overall pick has been largely backup level. And even that's being rather kind. Last year the OL was the biggest issue and this year after investing an exorbitant amount of money in the interior OL we are near bottom of the league in sacks given up. Regardless of the WR situation we should not be 29 out of 32 in passing yards per game. We are also on coaching staff #2. Now nearing the end of his second season you have to look at the common thread at the center of it all. That's Bryce Young.
  16. The highest offensive output of the season was with Dalton. He sucks.
  17. Kyle Allen in 13 games in 2019: 3,322 passing yards Bryce Young in 11 games this year: 1,791 passing yards That's a difference of 1,531 yards in two starts.
  18. To some people here wanting an actual NFL level passing offense = being "Anti-Bryce Young".
  19. Evans and Godwin are good but the Bucs offense is balanced. They ran and passed all over the Chargers last weekend to the tune of 506 total yards. And Baker Mayfield is hot and cold at best. But he can and will make all the throws. Overall their roster is not that very good though. We saw that firsthand against them. We could replicate some of what they're doing with the right QB and another offensive piece. The Vikings are loaded and Justin Jefferson is behind only Jamar Chase in receiving yards. If you want that level of production it isn't going to happen with Bryce Young behind center regardless of who we put at WR. Justin Jefferson would absolutely be losing his cool here if Bryce was his QB.
  20. It's best to just take these remaining games as what they are. We aren't playing for anything. It's just more experience for the young guys. At the same time we should be able to acknowledge things and not constantly trying to run cover to make any one player look better. I mean we can sit here and talk about how stats are misleading all we want but while we're on the subject Nix is meh at best as a rookie QB but he has 1,444 more yards than our second year QB in only 4 more starts. Our offense is and has been limited with Young at QB. Reality is reality.
  21. Why are we talking about Bo Nix?
  22. 18.6% from three tonight..lol Salaun is too raw at only 19. No one can say what he'll ultimately be 3 or 4 years from now. But waiting around for that is not a luxury this franchise has. We needed production out of that pick now. It's not looking good at all. At this point I think Lee is just doing all he can to keep this team competive given the circumstances. But there are some tough decisions ahead. Might get worse before it gets better anytime soon.
  23. Have you seen the way we've drafted the last few years? We would have found a way to squander those picks probably. I don't like saying that but it's true.
