I saw enough PJ Walker last season. Any hype will quickly end when we get another look at him going to work in the redzone.
-
Hell no to Quinn I'd rather hire Wilks if that's all we're going for here.
-
Man some folks here really have egg on their face. Remember when all we heard is how much players loved him? Even if we don't win much from here at least we got that energy tf up out the building.

If some people gave Matt Rhule two seasons several games this season and every excuse in the book we'll give Wilks a few games at least.

How could we not give Fitt another chance?!?
frankw replied to DMathematics's topic in Carolina Panthers
There is this weird thing on the huddle with some folks where the GM after Hurney is anointed to a status never earned and given free passes until it is abundantly clear he was bad too. This happened with Dave Gettleman and it started early with Scott Fitterer. Maybe we keep Fitt maybe we don't but if we don't it would absolutely be justifiable. -
You were quick to disappear or go on a random camping trip when the going got tough now you're having a meltdown and lobbing haymakers in every direction. Amusing. Hope your day gets better!

This is just rabble we both know you were very heavily invested in Rhule and you've defended Tepper tooth and nail. That's your prerogative. But don't act like everyone else is absorbed by all this while you've just been a neutral and totally calm observer. I want the Panthers to get better. Wilks isn't the answer but he's better than Rhule. Hell Rivera was and is better than Rhule and he's a fool about to get himself fired in Washington. These are just the facts. But I look forward to a full reset with this staff. I'm willing to give Scott Fitterer a chance with more input but he should be on thin ice. Ultimately we all want the same thing but it's crystal clear we need experience on this staff and never again should we look to the college ranks. Hopefully we can finish the season with something positive to build on. I am not in the camp that thinks more losing and tanking is going to lead to great things. We need to bring back the culture Cam tried to instill even though he was regularly criticized and mocked for it. We need players angry about losing instead of accepting and making excuses for bad coaches like Rhule. We'll see how the future shakes out.

Boy does that sound familiar. This is what we were trying to get through to you about Rhule. Interesting how standards change.

We all owe Teddy Bridgewater an apology
frankw replied to ENC Pantherfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
You mean after we traded him away. No doubt Teddy was right about some things especially with Rhule he had the man pegged. But he always was and should have been a true placeholder for us to draft a quarterback. As much as the losing the micromanaging and lack of real team culture was part of Rhule's undoing his lack of willingness and ability to both identify and make his mark drafting his own rookie QB to develop was the cherry on top. -
If Tepper had pulled the plug at the beginning of the offseason instead of feeding his own ego and calling fans basement people maybe we wouldn't be having to ponder these things this late in the game. But Wilks is just a man stuck trying to hold back the tide. I like him but I don't envy the position he is in. I do hope the locker room and overall vibe can improve though and we end the season on a respectable note. No tanking is not going to help that it's only going to put more doubt in the back or everyone's mind.

What is going on with the QB position the next couple weeks?
frankw replied to GOAT's topic in Carolina Panthers
PJ and then any random we can find at that point. Darnold is old news old regime old mistakes. -
Wow egomaniac confirmed.

Who offered their respective teams Hershel Walker deals?
-
He said Herschel Walker type deal we haven't seen anything near that or even under consideration for a running back since at least the 1990's. The days of Bo Jackson are long gone.
-
Let's dispense with the fantasies and just talk turkey. He led the entire NFL in touches and we clearly fed him the ball good or bad and didn't really give a poo about winning because we had no hope at QB. Rarefied air
-
Running backs aren't worth that now. You're stuck in the pre 2000's era of football. You've been passed by. Join the rest of us in the modern NFL. The thing about Payton is he could still establish offense with or without Kamara. Your entire line of reasoning is built around some assumption that we cannot and will never get comparable production from another RB in the draft. That's silliness to say the least.
-
You say best at his position and I say 16-37. If you don't have a real threat at quarterback you've got nothing. Some people are content getting their jollies off watching CMC guide us to 5 win seasons. But the time to end this daydream is here. The NFCS is ripe for the taking. Payton is gone Brees is gone Ryan is gone. Tom Brady is certainly playing his last season of quality football. It's time to develop a quarterback. We can pickup an RB in the draft along the way in the mid rounds while we assemble a beastly offensive line.
-
Keep building the oline and bring in someone who can actually develop a quarterback and we aren't that far off.

After years of remarks about Cam fans and not putting one player above the team some folks don't practice what they preach. Can't say I'm surprised.
