We're 6 games into the season there's a long ways to go bud. Dallas has already been one and done recently in the playoffs via a very embarrassing meltdown their QB has been hurt the Vikings have yet to advance any further similarly the Titans were dispatched quickly last season and haven't looked quite as formidable as they did a few seasons ago. The Chargers could make a run but do you feel confident in that? That leaves the Giants so you think their ready to make the jump to Super Bowl contention this season? Cool.
-
You're just going to omit the part literally right before that asking how many Super Bowl contending teams have a running back top 5 in salary? If you just want to bash each other let's give it a go but surely we can come up with something better than this?
-
The Bengals are the only team in the top 10 of that list to get a Super Bowl appearance. I get you're a homer but you're digging deep here if you think any of those other teams you mentioned are legit Super Bowl contenders.

I agree with pretty much everything you've said here. The sad truth of the matter is much of our failures are so very self inflicted. And when you get down to it I legitimately think some fans here could have made better decisions than the brain trust we had with Matt Rhule. But at the center of it was Rhule's glaring apprehensiveness toward drafting his own QB. When we finally did we acted as if he were a burden when giving him practice reps and then we got him beaten up. Wherever we go from here please let it involve bringing in a coach with real experience at developing talent in the national football league (not college).

There was a time when I was willing to eviscerate Teddy Bridgewater but when you move past his lack of deep ball and penchant for taking the easy passes you have to acknowledge some things. We did at least move the ball up and down the field more often and that was with Matt Rhule Joe Brady and hey how about this known jag RB Mike Davis in McCaffrey's absence. That's the best our offense has looked in almost three years and we didn't have disgruntled receivers and we didn't have to forcefeed McCaffrey. We never should have traded Teddy if all we were going to go after was the likes of Sam Darnold. That's on Rhule and Fitterer who for some reason quite a few people want to give a free pass to.

Dude! Cam Newton led the team in rushing yards that season. How are you going to begin your post calling me out for overlooking things but cherry pick something like that? We have never won more than 5 games with McCaffrey as the primary weapon we can argue about circumstances but these are the facts.

It's a passing league and the coaches who are the best offensive minds can make the RB position plug and play and still get production. Do any of the SB contending teams have a running back top 5 in salary? The only one I see is Joe Mixon with the Bengals. All the other teams have fringe playoff hopes or are already thinking about who they might draft next year. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings/cap-hit/running-back/

Can we please stop fapping over the 1k/1k season? We won five games and McCaffrey led the league in touches. And every time I bring up McCaffrey's success rate running the ball in the RZ on 3rd and 4th down people scatter immediately. Yes he's got terrific hands he has clear dynamic ability as a WR but as a traditional RB which is what we need it is not going to get it done.

Listen brother I want a first too. But if a team has a chip like that to deal why wouldn’t they either use that to get a younger playmaker with less mileage and injury concerns or sign one of the FA backs in what is going to be one of the best free agent running back groups in years. We hold very little leverage. I would say just keep him for one or two more years but we are now on our third head coach and still the gameplan is "save me CMC here take all the touches". We don't score points with him we don't score points without him. We need a major shift in philosophy.

NFL: Pats relationship with Mac Jones "gone sideways"
frankw replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Good fug Mac Jones. -
Oh please get down off the cross already guy. I don't see you stopping to take the time out to chastise any of these people making questionable remarks about a certain former Panthers hair or how he talks. Nothing even remotely offensive or derogatory was said about McCaffrey. And no we are not getting a first for him IMO a 3rd is what we are looking at and if we somehow got a 2nd that would be damn near a robbery.

Robby Anderson went OFF on Jonathan Stewart -Riot Report
frankw replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Robbie got his contract extension and thought that meant he had arrived. He's a future HOFer only in his mind. Good luck with that Kyler. -
The truth is the truth. In a quarter century I've never seen a cult of fans around any other running back on this team and we have had some good ones no doubt.

For the last time. We have many needs. We are facing another semi rebuild at minimum. We have one WR who can be really good when he wants but he is apparently disgruntled who knows if he stays. We have overpaid for guys like Ian Thomas and we have got to be one of the worst if not the worst at TE. You want to talk about helping a young QB. The go to for that is a solid TE for a safety valve and a solid versatile run game. Apparently Tepper is seeking an offensive minded coach for the new hire. That is a breath of fresh air. Surely that new coach will be able to come up with a better philosophy to build offensive gameplans around than "give one running back most of the touches the opposing defenses will never see that coming" that has been our bread and butter now with 3 different head coaches in 3 years.

If we are going to take off the homer shades Corral is a longshot at best to ever be a franchise QB here. I put the odds at 90% we go quarterback if we are sitting on a top 3 pick next April. We aren't getting through to one another on this discussion you clearly care more about your favorite running back than the team.
-
It's only a matter of time at this point. If we continue to lose and secure the top pick it's more likely this trade talk will pickup traction near next years draft. So you take your QB maybe draft a workhorse RB keep building the oline and let the chips fall where they may. This is not a difficult formula to grasp even bottom feeder teams are able to compete better than we are because they are not obsessing over their running back. They know it's a QB league. This guy that keeps quoting me is either trolling me or demented fr.
-
The best move for the team is to stop trying to run their offense through a consistently injured running back. Obviously the decision makers agree or they would not have made him available for trade.
-
It's obviously a factor for some and why people prop him up as one of the goats. None of our other running backs in the history of the franchise have had such a deranged cult following and his career numbers do not blow any of theirs out of the water. This is not an echo chamber you are going to have to reckon with and ponder these facts sooner or later the team obviously is going to be moving on this season or next.
-
Well it's not consistent with what I heard and saw for the better part of an entire decade. Do you remember "just win baby"? Fans used to try and console each other with stats from tough losses as a means of coping and most replies were about the win-loss column being all that matters. How about we get back to those days and stop fawning over "the best weapon in football!" that has us with a 16-39 record. We could potentially end up with the #1 pick this year. It's time for a new era. The player only fans need to figure out what they are going to do and who they are going to root for because for some of them the TEAM obviously isn't the first priority.
-
Love Shaq Thompson but there are too many issues and needs with this team you do what you have to and get out from under that contract.
-
Oh this logic again. Wins and losses are a team stat when it's someone you like. Cam is done. But when his arm wasn't toast we won games and competed in our division. We need a quarterback and I'm tired of watching weirdos with a fetish for a white RB live vicariously through his garbage stats. We need a winning football team.
-
-
Is that all some of you want? He leads the team in yards so you can rub your no no spot while we are still cellar dwellers? I will be relieved when he is gone you people are worse than any Cam Newton homer at least we won something back then.
-
16 wins in almost four years that's goat status baby!
