Rams Offering Two (Future) Firsts for Burns
frankw replied to OnlyPantherFaninMaine's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is true. But it can cut two ways as well. What are the odds that the next pass rusher we draft doesn't take that much time to develop as well? We all know the demand here is instant results. So we are waiting two years for the picks and then another 1-2 years minimum to see it pan out. Yeah I'm gonna go ahead and say this beleaguered fanbase does not have the patience for that. -

I wish we could see Wilks with a better quarterback situation but I think that barring a miracle we're changing gears altogether. But part of me is torn as I have wanted an offensive minded coach but seeing guys like Hackett and McDaniels stumble with two of the leagues most struggling offenses gives me pause. I'm still eager to see what Steve can do with this group the rest of the way. -

Haven't you heard? Teams who have the draft picks and need can just draft one and not miss apparently. Others are using the same reasoning for trading DJ Moore. People are living fantasies. -

McAdoo hasn't proven a thing to even get input in trades he should have one foot out the door already tbh. We can and will do better. At least I hope. -

Insisting on trying to get us to take Akers off their hands is reason enough for me to tell the pricks to kick rocks. Nobody wants your washed up quitter running back. -

If the picks weren't far off I would be more inclined to heavily consider the offer. But either way I'm just a fan and I'll let it play out and roll with the results. But I can tell you one fuging thing. I'll be here to remind the folks bitching about the losing because there will be bitching. -

I'm not trying to be rude but in truth you are one of the more reactionary people here so we both know you will not make it two seasons without expressing frustration with our defense minus Burns. It's going to happen. All I'm saying is just know what you're advocating for here. -

Saying we can wait two years might sound okay at this moment but the buyers remorse will set in quickly when some of the flip flop types here get a load of our new pass rush in the meantime. You can't have it both ways. -

Who knows they have an open window as long as they have McVay and a franchise QB. Plus they already have the hardware in the trophy case. -

I know but he won another ring with them and I'm not doing that team favors to get another one. Two firsts only matter if you have proven decision makers in place. Some people want to anoint Fitterer as the next great GM when he has proven little and he is a part of the reason Darnold is here. I am not just putting blind faith in the idea that he is going to hit on two franchise players with those picks. -

Fug the Rams and Von Miller. Not in favor of anything that helps them. -
Well he's certainly done more with less than your favorite wide receiver who now plays for the Cardinals. What was his stat line again?
-
Well now I guess I see what this is really about. Sour grapes. Sorry he isn't Christian McCaffrey and we don't have him out there throwing passes because we're trying to inflate his stats.
-
We had our first 30 point game in a year thanks to those splash plays from Moore. Newsflash those kinds of plays are the bread and butter of current NFL offenses if we want to be relevant and compete with playoff teams that's what we're looking for. At this point I think you're trolling because these are some sketchy hot takes. Cheers.
-
Huh. Who are these "better receivers" you speak of?
-
He just needed some time to settle in. Very relieved we've at least got LT figured out. Now get someone who can evaluate quarterbacks please.
-
With the right QB and coach combo DJ goes from good to elite and he's only 25. It still isn't quite that easy though man. It's why you see teams taking fliers on trades for talented but flawed young receivers hoping for that big payoff. Fitterer still has plenty to prove as a talent evaluator. Removing Rhule from the equation was obviously a big boost. We'll see how it shakes out.
-
The liquor must've been doing the thinking huh?
-
You're being awful hopeful there my guy. Could we draft another good WR? Of course. Will it work out perfectly in our favor? Not likely. Do we need to go on back down the line and name all the receivers we've drafted and argued about who have added up to not much? Sure our luck is due for change. But I definitely wouldn't just assume oh yeah we're gonna draft the next elite receiver because we are looking. Just my outlook after many years of following this team.

Gerry Green had his facts wrong? -
All I said was there is a small group of people who are clearly irrationally infatuated with him and there seems to be a connection between the fact he is the only player of his shade playing the position the way he has. And the more someone like Catsfan69 loses his mind over all this the more it is confirmed to me. That flagfootball guy just came right out and said it and Catsfan69 pie'd the post so I mean seems pretty cut and dry to me. I wished McCaffrey well when he was traded. It's the superfans who have lashed out about all this it's not like we traded a franchise quarterback here. It's time to move on!
-
Who replaces him? He's already a temporary kicker for another one. If we stop committing dumb ass turnovers and we won't need him to ice a win.
-
Greg Olsen? He was trashed here fairly consistently the last couple years as an overpaid whiner who cried to Jerry Richardson to get his way.

Anticipating another 30-40 first half passing yards followed by an explosion by the 4th quarter. Hopefully this time no touchdowns thrown to the other team.
