  1. So now that we've established any and all losing is now punishable by exile what happens when those rookies take some lumps or face struggles to develop? Certain positions you may see flashes instantly but other positions can take 2-3 seasons especially defensive ends. Firesale redux?
  2. That's fair. It's also fair to say if you sell off most of the roster and expect to draft mostly studs and all pros with those picks you are going to be disappointed based on the Carolina Panthers overall draft history.
  3. Probably time to just face facts. Jordan stinks as an NBA owner and it may never get much better.
  4. You've been raging about this for days my guy. We will still have other draft picks to work with and this declined trade will not prevent us from being a competitive team ourselves as long as we get the right coach in here. Look at the Seahawks chugging right along with Geno fuging Smith. Chin up.
  5. The original post in question said they were "almost sure to be" bad enough for a top 16 pick. Now you are saying they "could" be average. That's a more reasonable distinction and I agree.
  6. Of course the roster is different and they will undergo more changes in the upcoming offseason too. I'm not saying McVay is a magician but the Rams have added some significant talent the last few years and they just signed their GM to an extension who has been a big part of that talent infusion. They are going to do everything they can to be competitive. Just because we want their picks doesn't mean all rational logic goes out the window.
  7. It hinges on Sean McVay more than anything. He almost won a second Super Bowl with Jared Goff and Brandin Cooks. If he exits your assumption is a much safer bet.
  8. Yeah I've already seen the schemes some fans here have cooked up for us to make a run at Lamar lol. We could have 4 or 5 first round picks that still isn't going to be enough to convince a general manager to part with a 25 year old MVP quarterback because at the end of the day he knows the odds of replacing that level of talent and it will likely end with him being shown the door if he makes that deal.
  9. Very reasonable take nicely done. At the end of it all this ire over draft picks boils down to probabilities. For the time being Fitterer is spotty at best and we know the Panthers overall draft history is anything but fantastic. Hell we're already banking on hitting big on a QB in the draft which is a tall order to begin with but some folks here want to make it QB DE and WR. Good luck with all that
  10. You mean to tell me people want to talk about how we possibly took a corner over a young franchise QB?
  11. It's funny seeing the scenarios people are creating in their heads of what we could have done with those 2 firsts. Like yeah I wouldn't mind having them but put yourself in someone else's shoes. If you're the Ravens GM and you are at all concerned about your own job security you take that for 25 year old Lamar Jackson and hit the reset button? Wake up from the fantasy folks.
  12. According to Jay Glazer. You'll have to forgive me for being skeptical about that.
  13. We don't know what we were offered for Moore but I'm going to guess it was not a first and I say that based on other trades for receivers recently. So I'm not going to lose sleep over not taking a dime and a nickle for a 25 year old foundational offensive piece who is not a locker room problem.
  14. You guys aren't fully thinking logically. There are legitimate gripes about the non Burns trade. But with Moore that would have resulted in an instant dead cap hit well over 20 million dollars. The salary cap can be worked around but at some point you guys have to allow your rage to subside and start seeing these scenarios through a real world lens. And still some of you think that after still pending lawsuits involving pay to lose allegations and Doug Pederson losing his gig with Philly teams are out here tanking in the open. Let's talk football and leave all the conspiracy stuff for the tbox.
  15. What the hell even is this comparison man? Yes people still talk about our only two Super Bowl seasons. Shocking.
  16. It's been a week now if anyone wants to spend the next several months all the way up to the draft shouting at clouds over the Burns trade that's their choice but I'm good on all that. It didn't happen move on. It's hard to say if the Horn pick was him or Rhule. One or both of them had been extremely hesitant to try and develop a rookie quarterback. Based on how Matt Rhule handled Corral's first TC I will assume it was mostly him. But the in on every deal mentality is used car salesman talk and that's been Fitterer's whole identity to this point. What's it gotten us though? Is there a real plan? We are not trading our way out of this. Add to the pieces we have in place and find the right coaching staff to maximize the talent here and develop rookies with those picks we got from the McCaffrey trade. In the meantime we look to be hopefully locking in a top 3 pick. I can live with it.
  17. I agree with you but those picks are only gold if we believe in the decision makers. Even if it's not Fitterer it will be someone chosen by David Tepper who thought tasty meatballs and being a former short order cook were legit qualifications to pay a guy 60+ million and give the keys to the franchise.
  18. Once in a lifetime? That may be going a little far. Especially firsts that we do not know will be late or mid but there's a very slim chance they would be top ten. Burns will be just getting ready to turn 25 around the time of the draft he will still have value. I'm frustrated with the way this has all gone too but there's no need to be looking over a ledge right now. Only the delusional optimists who also thought Sam Darnold would just suddenly become a franchise QB here or that PJ Walker was a starting QB are shocked by all this. If we get a top 3 pick or even the top pick I'll feel better. But I still don't have a great deal of faith in our GM overall we are basically in the position of asking ourselves how much of the good/bad was him versus Rhule. We just don't know. Plus Dave Tepper is still our owner and he's still going to meddle regardless. For the moment that's why I'm not losing too much sleep over those firsts for now.
  19. Luck was a hype machine. Cam was not even the consensus best QB in his class let alone the best player. Burrow is who we should have lost out for instead of a stupid win streak with Kyle Allen. But with Mahomes and Josh Allen how many people here were desperate for us to draft them? How many analysts had them pegged as future elite quarterbacks in the making? We can't make definitive statements nobody knows. You take your shot when the time comes it's all we've got now.
  20. Instant gratification in the sense that knowing we have those picks would still make some people feel better right now about getting destroyed by the Bengals on Sunday. Clearly judging by this thread it's a pretty easy assumption.
  21. There is a possibility with Corral but it's very unlikely. I'll still support him through his rehab though because at the end of the day he is a Panther. Plus in the event he looks promising we can flip him if need be. But all the struggles with Rhule aside he looked truly bad in preseason there's no way around it. We'll see I would love to see him prove people wrong and I would gladly eat crow.
