Hornets and Bridges Working On A Deal…
frankw replied to MillionDollarCam's topic in Charlotte Hornets
I've been a lifelong Hornets fan but this is a shitstain move there's no shining this one up. -
And whatever this weird thing is with bringing up Fields because folks are correctly summarizing Darnold at this point in his career is perplexing. Darnold's ceiling in our offense is Fields floor. That's why people want to draft a QB in the first and shoot our shot. If you don't have an agenda this is not a difficult concept to grasp.
-
We just lost at home. Again.
-
Corral does deserve our support as a Panthers player we drafted but I would rather have two than one at this point. Increase our odds. It is fair to say that Matt faces a steep climb to become more than a backup at this point in time though. You have to acknowledge reality.
-
You guys can make a hundred of these cope threads it won't stop us from drafting another quarterback.
-
I guess it's okay to hope Matt Corral magically becomes a much better QB by next years training camp and I'd love to see it myself but it's unlikely. What is likely is we will be drafting another quarterback. If you aren't on board that's okay but it's happening with or without you that's the situation we find ourselves in. You have to keep taking your shots.

What a delusional take. Reminds me of when Panthers fans tried to talk up Teddy Bridgewater early on. We keep circling back making the same rationalizations for the same bum QB's. It's Groundhog Day.
-
Not a gauntlet but compared to us they have actually looked like contenders against real competition. They dragged the Vikings up and down the field in one of the most lopsided blowout losses of the season and they did that with Cooper Rush. We could barely muster 16 points against a declining Steelers team.

Mike Kaye, Observer comment on Wilks support
frankw replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
This. And as much as I would like to see us bring in a consultant to help with this process I just don't see Tepper letting anyone tell him who he should hire. Guess all we can do is hope for the best. -
The defense was undoubtedly a big disappointment. But the Steelers O also possessed the ball for 36 minutes while our offense had it for under 24 minutes. It's an offensive league and when your highest output is 16 points you're toast regardless of how your defense is doing. We need sweeping changes across the board with our offense beginning with a new offensive coordinator and a new vision overall. Our drafts should also reflect this.

Why mention two of our starting quarterbacks this season while responding to a post talking about the small number of points we scored against a team with a QB room consisting of Mitch Trubisky and Kenny Pickett? Really? You brought it up as a retort to the original posters honest remarks about Darnold. It's funny so many people want to run off Brian Burns while others want to pat one of the worst quarterbacks in the league on the back because he didn't register a turnover on the stat sheet.

You are way too worked up over this at 8 in the morning my guy go vent to someone else. Edit: Also I have seen the numerous novel length diatribes full of anger and venom you have directed at posters like PhillyB so I'll simply say get tf off your high horse and take a look in the mirror yourself.

I've got a Funko collection already. I don't need a Peyton Hillis one too.

Three field goals in a game we lost by 8 points and someone is considering that a good thing? Where do people like this come from lol? Sad state of affairs in this fanbase. Yet ya'll had all the smoke for Baker Mayfield. Some people just want a guy they like even if he's a loser. Sam Darnold fits the bill for some reason.
-
Darnold is an established bust with now two different teams in his fifth NFL season. He might be a backup that's about it. We didn't draft him we do not owe him the opportunity to keep giving him chances and we've already given him 18 million dollars. Why you want to equate him with Justin who is only in his second season is strange but do you I guess. Fields has loads of potential and he's on a rookie contract in a league where guys like Mahomes are making MLB money now. We passed on him and we cannot afford to make the same mistake this year. That's all I've got to say.

Hornets vs Nuggets. This one might be a blood bath
frankw replied to jayboogieman's topic in Charlotte Hornets
Is it? If so my mistake. All this time how I've read the stats listed ESPN has the 3pt shots separated. Still our other guys take a ton of shots without much efficiency and Oubre is one of them like you said. -
I think Wilks has been told he has the job. (Speculation)
frankw replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
I hope this isn't true it's way too early to give anyone the gig just yet. But with the way this team does things nothing would surprise me. -
Oh stop it now you're just saying that because we are discussing a QB who you are not personally in love with. You guys need to retire this mentality. Who gives a poo what college a guy played for or his playstyle. You shoot your shot when the opportunity presents itself. That is what we can should and will do in April if we have any sense.
-
If I recall you were low on him in the draft were you not? I'm not going to change your opinion clearly just as you are not going to change mine. Neither of us can say when or if at all he will develop into a full package starting quarterback but as it stands moving forward now he looks like he has plenty of talent for the position so the question is can he put it all together in Chicago of all places. And using that situation as a learning experience the lesson moving forward should be that we are not in a position to pass on anymore quarterbacks for defensive players.

Just "happy to be here" is the story of the Carolina Panthers.
