  1. I hear ya'll. But if we hadn't once again won those games that ultimately didn't matter we wouldn't need to try and trade up anyway. We ended up getting slapped down by 45 year old Brady in probably the worst division in the league when we could have had a top 3 pick minimum. Same old Panthers.
  2. That's why my biggest concern is what they do with QB. While you guys are still mad about this I'm hoping nobody who makes decisions for this team shares even a slight agreement with some of the loonies here that think Sam Darnold is serviceable now. I want the whole QB room replaced and this team needs to get back to the days of emphasizing the TE position more.
  3. Sounds great for anyone seeking a new HC but I would be shocked if they actually did it.
  4. I think you stbugs and the Steelers fan have gone daffy honestly. But keep thinking you're right
  5. When you guys say stuff like this that's when folks look at you funny. You don't pay running backs big money it is a devalued position. You simply cannot compare the value of a pass rusher to that of a running back now.
  6. Trading Burns is a rebuild move and you are not going to get Reddick or any other premium FA pass rusher to commit unless you overpay. For many free agents playing for a contender is also a part of their decision making process. Yeah you still have guys who will take a payday on a bottom dweller but pass rushers have more choices given the need around the league. They aren't going to be in a hurry to hitch their wagon to the rebuilding Panthers. You keep saying pick 37 like that's such a big bargaining chip. If you want to move up for a QB firsts are all that matters. But if you're the general manager of a team needing a young promising QB on a rookie contract are you going to pass up staying put and taking the quarterback you're targeting for the 37th pick or a 1st two years from now knowing your job is on the line right now? Scott Fitterer is not the only NFL GM without the benefit of time to waste. Everyone wants to win now.
  7. Congratulations on your many very big achievements here sir I should never have questioned your status. Back to Burns. If the Rams had a first in this years draft and that was included in the offer then Scott Fitterer probably pulls the trigger. That's what this always circles back to. What is the value on a first round pick one year two years or three years from now? Seems to be anything but settled opinion.
  8. Oh cmon. If I were on the Steelers boards telling them their business about their players surely someone would ask me the same thing. I'm not in favor of overpaying Burns I'm in favor of applying perspective in that his value remains high and there will still be options down the line if we deem his contractual demands beyond our comfort zone. We always have options.
  9. I said his numbers would look different with less help and they would how much is where the debate begins and ends. Even if we did sign Reddick early in the year I would have to look back at our cap space to see how that works out you still have to convince him of your plan after you pull the rug out from under him by trading away Burns mid season. And why are you worried about what you perceive to be downplaying Reddick when the entire basis of your position on this rests on the fact you think Burns is average at best? Again. Knots. I'm perplexed why a Steelers fan is even posted up here wasting keystrokes on Brian Burns. Shouldn't you be somewhere hyping Kenny Pickett? Thanks for the banter.
  10. And no offense but I shudder when people say anything is super easy with this team I've learned my lesson after many an offseason full of hope and optimism where we declared ourselves early winners for moves we've made which then evaporated into nothing. We can sit here all day making plans but there is no easy button with this team.
  11. Is it? If it's super easy to replace him why did a team that just won the Super Bowl offer us a haul everyone is still angry we declined?
  12. If we take a corner earlier than the third round then oof. I want OL QB TE I'm tired of an offense that hangs their hat on scoring a measly 21 points.
  13. Are you suggesting I'm saying Reddick isn't good on his own? Because that's not what I said. I said he can't do it all. That's why the Cardinals finished 8-8. The issue we keep coming back to is you remove one DE and replace him who are you putting opposite him? The goal is to win and make the playoffs not build for 2 or 3 years from now. And with that in mind back to Reddick. He wanted to win that's why he went to Philadelphia. If we had talked him into staying and proceeded to trade away Brian Burns that's a good way to make him disgruntled. You're kind of tying yourself in knots with your hypothetical scenarios tbh.
  14. Between Jackson's contract and a top ten pick for Horn we've got an awful lot of resources tied up in the secondary. When the guy we got from the Jags for a third round pick is the lone man standing to finish the season that says it all. Maybe it's just bad luck. Or... maybe it's a sign of things to come.
  15. I was in favor of retaining Reddick but you could make the argument his numbers would be looking fairly different with only Derrick Brown on our line to help him out consistently. The Eagles are damn good due to the talent they have around him too. He was also vocal about his frustration with the team by the end of the 2021 season. He wanted to move on.
  16. He's just still salty about Matt Rhule getting canned. He had his receipts on everyone who said Matt Rhule wasn't the guy ready to make them eat crow and then...poof.
  17. I can see what you are saying from a social media standpoint but it's just basic human empathy man it doesn't cost you anything.
  18. I can agree with some of this because I am not at all sold on Fitterer. But the McCaffrey haul for a player that plays a devalued position was a no brainer kind of move. Burns will command significantly more now or later pass rushers are 1B to the 1A of franchise quarterbacks in terms of worth for the most sought after positions in the NFL now. This isn't over just let it play out.
  19. You love a certain San Francisco 49ers player more than you do some current Panthers. Give it a rest.
  20. Looks like Ron will be getting the axe again. Matt Rhule made all that money and still went 0-2 against Rivera. I'm kind of interested to see how it goes for Howell. By Sunday evening someone here will be doing damage control. Should be amusing.
  21. Yeah okay. At this point you'll still be venting about the Burns trade that never happened on your death bed.
  22. Andre Johnson was a big problem but idk about over Steve Smith. Steve does have some baggage you must acknowledge but on the field you can't deny his ability. I wouldn't worry though 89 will get his shine it just might be further down the road.
  23. The trade didn't happen. Something could still get done his value doesn't just vanish overnight. I don't know why anyone is still angry over this it might be a clue to take a break.
