People seem to be sleeping on Mike Kafka as a candidate
frankw replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'd be on board. We don't need to rush but we also don't need to waste too much more time flirting with Sean Payton. If the Saints give even a whiff of nonsense move on and pinpoint your guy. -
Awful luck. Obviously just rest him the remainder of the season. The NBA better give us the top pick this season or honestly I might lose most interest in the league altogether.

If they want two first rounders then fug em hire Steichen or Kafka and keep it pushing.

You truly do have the worst takes. If you hate Charlotte so much you are welcome to see yourself out -
Trading for Sean Payton vs Settling for Steve Wilks
frankw replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Most people would root for Hannibal Lecter if it meant winning consistently. The morality and rivalry bluster about Payton would pass in time. -
Graziano: Fangio leading DC Candidate in Carolina for Young HC
frankw replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
If Tepper swings a Payton/Fangio combo I'll probably be willing to give him a temporary reprieve on criticism for awhile. -
Right but Wilks has a heavy defensive background that's his bread and butter. And honestly man the Bengals are still a good team but they've taken a step back overall from last season. Look at how close the Ravens played them with Huntley starting. There's nothing wrong with wanting to roll the dice on Wilks but like any of the other candidates we have to acknowledge the pros and cons and after years of watching John Fox and Ron Rivera in a league that has changed substantially in the last decade there's also nothing wrong with wanting to roll those same dice on a different philosophy altogether.

If we're crapping on Ben Johnson for the loss against us then let's keep it consistent and talk about that Bengals blowout 35 points in a half. And let's also talk about how we let the Bucs keep destroying our secondary without making any attempts at adjustments ie classic Ron Rivera.

I'm just not interested in seeing another defensive head coach rerun. Arguing Rivera got us to a Super Bowl actually has the opposite effect for the argument in favor of Wilks. Remove the threat of a generational talent in Cam Newton bullying defenses for years and Rivera would have been fired in his second or third season. There's no Cam Newton to save Steve Wilks. We need a new philosophy and someone who can and will actually develop a quarterback. All good things and well wishes to Wilks but I simply do not see him as the coach for that.

If it's Steichen or Kafka I can live with it. Just get something done. -

He's the best available option by far so yes. -
Roman Harper thinks Sean Payton could be our next HC now
frankw replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's a bit confusing between three or so different threads. Apparently we are interviewing the Broncos defensive coordinator today and Payton on Friday. -

So he is interviewing today? -

All he did was get the coffee and order food for everybody right lol -

If we hire him so be it I guess. I'm not loving the idea but he's a winning established coach so I'll be along for the ride. -
Both losing isn't an option so I would rather see Brady bounced from the playoffs. I'm just tired of seeing that guy. You got your 7 rings fug off already.

Relocating. That's about it.

For those of you who think we are years away from competing
frankw replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
Giants do have limitations but they have talent and you can't deny the difference coaching has made. We can't be scared to make a big change. If either Johnson or Steichen have a plan that will bring our offense up to par with the rest of the league you make the hire. -
The ringleader of bountygate? Come on lol. I was referring to you labeling him a quitter. We've had players here who have been oft injured but I haven't seen the "quitter" label casually tossed around. Injury prone sure but not outright saying a guy is only looking out for himself and screwing over the team. And Michael Vick of all people should know better than to say that after what he went through. It sounds hypocritical but that's his right. Social media now is full of whispers and claims of sources. Much of it is just nonsense. After what happen to Griffin and Newton over the years through all the wear and tear that eventually led to the demise of his career I do not blame a man for not wanting to further risk injury. We aren't talking minor discomfort. Knee injuries are a different story. It's kind of wild to see all this after Damar Hamlin too. I said it when it happened much of the concern was performative. Most fans don't actually care one way or another they just want to be entertained and telling a guy to just put a brace on it and possibly go blow out his knee is a pretty clear example of that.

Things get chippy here and most of us are guilty in some capacity of attacking one anothers opinion it's the nature of sports fan is short for fanatic. I just thought it was funny seeing your handle attached to a poo emoji. But in regards to this discussion I must say the energy in here doesn't line up. Now I've seen some very weird excuses and building up of just flat out either bad or mediocre quarterbacks the last three or so odd years here. So to see people saying another is a quitter because he does not want to play through a knee injury is just not a good look for this community. There may be others in the sports world echoing this sentiment but when you consider one of them is probably Skip Bayless keep in mind that's who you're aligned with. Just something to chew on

I would be very hesitant to give up a haul for Lamar due to the injury concerns but I cannot deny if healthy he would make us instant Super Bowl contenders in this conference. Look at who is winning in the NFC playoffs right now. Daniel Jones? Brock Purdy? I'm getting some vibes from this thread a little reminiscent of the Cam days. LadyPanther even in here pooing posts over Lamar Jackson lol really? Awkward.

If you're watching this game just remember this is the same Bengals that blew the doors off a Wilks coached team by 35 points in the first half alone. This only solidifies my stance that we need an offensive head coach.
