Like I said I can appreciate it's fun to watch and it's certainly better than the alternative. If we had actually seen more consistency from Bryce and the OL in the passing game I would feel better about the question of sustainability. But for now it's the elephant in the room. Still. I appreciate what the guys on the OL and Rico Dowdle are doing for the run game. That's going to make just about any QB better by default in the short term.

I can't get with this logic that we have average talent. The tale of woe is a beaten horse here. Downplaying Bryce playing well in spurts across a lot of bad games in 35 career outings is bad. But it's perfectly fine to downplay others around him. Let's try to be consistent here. Expectations should at least match. It's up to Bryce as a 3rd year #1 overall pick to maximize the talent around him at least some of the time. We need to see it because we cannot expect things to go perfectly and there will be times where he will have to takeover games. And yes he and the rest of the team absolutely need to play much much better on the road. We'll see this Sunday. I don't think the Jets are going to be a cakewalk as some seem to be suggesting.

People are acting like we've "arrived" and if one is a longtime Panthers fan they should know better than that. We're running all over bad defenses. Certainly fun to watch. But the real test will be when we face better defensive units and we have to create a consistent passing offense. That's the biggest question mark. And that's where we need to see the biggest result from our investment in the OL and QB.

To the folks the last couple years who were boosting up Josh Allen and shitting on Cam Newton. This one goes out to you.

He isn't going anywhere that contract is an albatross there's not a potential out until 2027. And even that would result in $10.6 million in dead cap.

Most expensive OL in the league and only set to widen the gap. Time to produce!

Honestly disgusting that someone who goes out of their way to carry water for Bryce like they're paid to for a living is trying to crap on Rico for his pass blocking. Also the same person who has continually postured to others about being such a superior fan. Should be embarrassed.

Looks like business as usual for the Falcons.

Bills defense is getting worked. This same Falcons team looked horrific against us in Carolina. There's a lesson in this for Panthers fans who are feeling themselves right now. You can't overfixate on single games. We got a road game coming up with a desperate team too. Take it one week at a time.

Eight of Bryce Young's nine wins have come off game-winning drives
frankw replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
We're currently averaging 22 PPG for the season. The run game has been a huge part of that in a historical context. As far as the passing game we are 27th in passing yards per game. Last year we were 30th. The year before that in Bryce's rookie season we were 32 out of 32. We've seen with our own eyes that we have young receivers capable of making the big plays now. The weapons are there. They might not be perfect but they are there that shouldn't be under dispute. Sooner or later we're going to have to be able to open up the passing game to win games and that will require Bryce Young to buck the trend of low passing output that has been consistent much more often than not across the 35 career games he's played in. -
When Bryce plays well he has help when Bryce plays poorly and turns the ball over everyone around him is a bum. Constantly diminishing 52 other guys to prop up 1 guy only holds up when that guy can take over games. Rookie of the year? MVP? That will get you that kind of clout. Bryce isn't even in the same universe as that.

I see some folks are already back to diminishing the parts around him. But if someone diminishes Bryce it's a serious problem and maybe they'll even try to fight you.

I'd like to say there's no way we could see Corbett at center again while Mays has held things down but unfortunately I cannot put anything past my Panthers.

We had discussions about sustainability after the shutout win against the Falcons and we know how the following matchup went. We need to see this team and more specifically Bryce Young on the road before making any determinations.

It’s time to discuss DANimal Morgan as our GM

It's a marathon not a sprint. I would think Panthers fans would have learned by now not to tempt fate making conclusions like this before we're even halfway through the season. Let it play out folks. -

He just gets satisfaction from being an unwavering sycophant like he's going to get an unknown reward after it's all said and done. He went off the deep end the same way over Teddy Bridgewater. -
There are things that some folks will never see eye to eye on regarding our starting QB. It just is what is. But can we all agree that the argument that Bryce Young has no weapons has been completely debunked?

Not denying that although I would say that apsect was significantly more prevalent after the elbow surgery. He wasn't the same after. -
Question of sustainability remains. We have to wait and see.

If the team is to emerge from the cellar in our very diminished division compared to a decade ago we need to drastically improve our putrid record on the road. That's the true test from here on out. -
There can be multiple truths. We can enjoy the win but also acknowledge the elephant in the room. Just the nature of being a Carolina Panthers fan.
-
Man we better play like this on the road I'm tired of walking into a damn buzzsaw outside of BOA.
-
Could be. I just know it's really deflating when we're driving the ball and the run game is working and we need at least a positive pass play and that's the result. But he bounced back from some of that today so that's at least a positive. Although he's got a ton of work to do along with the rest of the team on the road though. That will be the real test IMO. To say it's been bad would be an understatement.

It's about damn time we had promising depth at the TE position.
