  1. You are correct there isn't enough data. Specifically for Bryce's height and weight. We have examples of QB's 6 foot 210 range. But not 5'10 185-190 it just isn't there. Well Doug Flutie but I mean cmon lol. For me this really boils down to weighing risk vs reward. That is what the staff and Fitterer will have to decide on. If they think he's worth the risk based on his other intangibles then make the pick. He could go on to become a star. Of course there's also the possibility on the other end of the spectrum. And that one ends with folks losing their jobs.
  2. Damn you're still harboring hate for that man eh? Awful existence.
  3. Many things are said about this from angles that make an argument look better. If you do a dive for injuries to larger QB's I would assume a great many of them are lower body injuries which just about any player is going to be susceptible to. IE the Joe Burrow argument for most recent. But if the correlation for this were that smaller QB's are less likely to be injured and therefore more likely to be successful why aren't there many many more of them to list and also in the NFL hall of fame? Just some things to consider.
  4. He was also drafted about 40 years ago.
  5. It's easy to take a both sides approach to this debate. But man sometimes Bryce makes Russel Wilson Drew Brees and even Kyler Murray look big by comparison. You just can't downplay it.
  6. The random "freak" injuries can happen to anyone. Especially lower body injuries. Ankles rolled or twisted legs being extended ways they weren't meant to be. Any of these things can happen to any QB and especially within the pocket where so much can be going on at any given moment. Now moving into upper body injuries and concussions that's the main area where a smaller framed QB would be more susceptible to issues IMO. But all this goes back to investing in the OL and continuing to address depth. We all love Bozeman but we should still look ahead for our future young QB. I want to see us draft a center of the future next year.
  7. It's good to hear Reich address the durability concern. Folks that have an infatuation with Bryce Young will hear Barry Sanders and have hearts in their eyes like Bugs Bunny but most will understand the point being made. And you can argue why he retired but even as good as he was he ended the ride at a decade. And that's as an RB. It's easy for one of us to say fug it take the risk but it's not our careers at stake. Tough choice for Reich. No pressure buddy.
  8. I believe Richardson is under heavy consideration. Some folks hate it but you can't eliminate him from the process.
  9. I think I've poo'd maybe two posts in the last several months. It has to be very egregious. Hell I've seen more fly over Bryce Young in the last few weeks alone than I have in at least a year for any other discussion. Yet apparently there are no Alabama fans here right? I'm not clinging to propping up Stroud by linking him to anyone and everyone who was ever great in their sport and comparable size. I know his question marks. I know Bryce's too. I doubt either are going to have a record breaking rookie season out of the gate. I'm far more realistic than the folks who think one or the other can walk on water. It's going to take time and patience. Even with a staff such as this. Some QB's take longer some are showing those traits out of the gate. We won't know until we get them in camp.
  10. Dude. All you do is slink around here and shield that man and poo posts. I really haven't seen any pro Stroud posters acting like the BY extremists.
  11. Sounds like you're head over heels hun.
  12. People are expecting our rookie QB to throw for 4,000? We still have to draft another wideout. I'm optimistic and love this staff on paper but that's all we've got right now is on paper.
  13. There are a lot of Alabama fans in the Carolinas who have waited years for us to finally draft one of Saban's QB's. The shitposting you see is the result.
  14. The potential is there. But will he take the step from training camp MVP to regular season stud? If there was ever a time to step up and show out this is it. I'm hoping he has a healthy and dominant season.
  15. Smoked Utah St ULM Vanderbilt Austin Peay Kansas State. The NFL is just a smidge different. Injuries can happen to any of these QB's but you can't deny Young is 190ish at best on gamedays. Stop the shenanigans. He's going to have to get to 210-215 to hold up for a lengthy NFL career.
  16. Cool? They aren't going to be stepping between Bryce Young and massive NFL defenders barreling toward him.
  17. I'd say it's a little of both. But after how much he hyped him for the draft it did make me double take with making that video right after the trade downplaying DJ's significance. WR is still a very coveted position. Hopefully DJ does just enough to help the Bears but doesn't go on an absolute tear like some other former Panthers have done when we've cut ties. I know we're all hopped up on hopium right now but if it's me idgaf if we signed Thielen and Chark. I'm still taking a stud receiver in the 2nd or 3rd round.
  18. Well we definitely hope not. Same for Mrs. Tepper. Let the coaching staff make the call of which QB they will be developing.
  19. Charles Johnson is one of my all time favorite Panthers but who is asking him which QB to draft? With that logic let's ask Julius Peppers what he thinks. Steve Smith is a hell of a player and our best receiver in history but who knows about his ability as an evaluator. He raved about DJ Moore we know that. Evaluation abilities undetermined at best.
  20. The combine doesn't tell the whole story obviously but it can be a piece of the puzzle. It would be nice to at least have some of this information to reference for the other quarterback we are heavily considering for the first pick. But Bryce didn't throw at the combine and didn't even weigh in at his own proday. Didn't he go 1-5 throwing deep last week?
  21. The pro Stroud folks aren't like this. Young fans are like the worst Cam fans but the kid hasn't even stepped on the field yet. So ready to get this draft over with.
