  1. Given Thielen's age and comical lack of YAC last year I find myself apprehensive at the notion of possibly losing a young up and coming WR just to keep Adam on for the season. Yes it's good to have his veteran presence. But it would be a shame to see one of these young WR's end up shining elsewhere while we move on from Thielen after this season anyways.
  2. Whatever happens this season I can say I am very pleased with the attention we are finally giving to the TE position. It's been too damn long since we've had high level play from the position group. Now let's just get Ian Thomas out of here and move forward renewed.
  3. This yarn about rooting for failure is just as tiresome as the criticism. As is the people who only enter the thread to talk about how everyone is rooting against so and so but never name names. Cam got some of the worst treatment from his own fanbase that I've ever seen. And he was rookie of the year out of the gate lol. I don't know why some people expected to come here and find rainbows and unicorns after the worst season in franchise history. The only thing that is going to help is winning football games. Until then people who constantly chime in just to gripe about others and create an "us vs them" atmosphere are not helping anything either and need to give up the moral high ground because it's a facade.
  4. 31 pages 31 points. Preseason or not I'll gladly take it.
  5. They have a well rounded roster built for a championship run brother. The fact we're even competing is a step in the right direction.
  6. Definitely want to see Boone kept around.
  7. Legette needs more reps plays like that are a crystal clear indicator your first overall pick has not seen enough action. Yes you have to be cautious with injuries but to have a guy you traded up to acquire looking like that heading into the season is inexcusable from a development standpoint.
  8. Agreed. I'm of the opinion we had to have has better options at QB3. But what's done is done. All that will matter is how the season goes. 17 games is a long season to head into with the worst QB3 in the league. Never know what can happen.
  9. Apparently we don't want to risk him. On the one hand it makes sense. On the other it's a pretty good indicator your QB room is....meh.
  10. I get what you're saying but we all knew the defense was going to likely take some kind of step back this year in the meantime as we try to fix the offense. That's why we hired Evero to ease the struggles some in the meantime bc that's been his reputation.
  11. I definitely feel better at least partially now. Against backups on a roster built for a Super Bowl run this is how you are supposed to look. Impressive drive. I'd say maybe one more drive if anything and their day is done.
  12. Bills defense fired up against us as I expected. Hell of a play on 4th down. Credit to Bryce on that.
  13. Brother we're both fans here and regardless of me sharing these uncomfortable truths I still want the same thing as you. For this franchise to start winning again and regain respect across the league. We simply have different approaches. If someone wants to stuff these truths under the couch cushions that's fine and somewhat understandable. But as a competitor you don't get better running from your faults. You face them head on. Use it all as fuel to get better. That's what we need to see from our leader on offense.
  14. The lose/lose talk for this is noise to me. Looking good against backups is what I expect. I'll be satisfied with it. It's all about momentum and continuity heading into the season. Competition is competition.
  15. He had one of the lowest YPA's in the history of the league for any QB. It was historical for the wrong reasons. There is no false claim to be made. The data is the data. If you take issue with the data then that's a you problem. Enjoy the game today!
  16. It was not a good look following one of the worst statistical seasons for any rookie QB ever. There is no way around it. Idk why anyone would be trying to downplay it. If Cam said that poo he would have been tarred and feathered immediately. But Bryce Young can change the whole nnarrative. Hopefully he does. This franchise needs it. We'll see.
  17. It sucks but the return we got was about as good as it was going to get at that time. If we wanted a huge haul the time to trade him would have been after we cut Cam and had no quarterback and had to rebuild the offensive line. That was the issue with the contract extension back in 2020. Yes you can look back and say you'd probably still sign him to that deal. But with the benefit of hindsight your immediate goal would be to pair him with a young dynamic QB in the draft ASAP. Unfortunately the cap implications from the contract itself left you with little wiggle room and the powers that be settled for discarded scraps off other teams rosters like Bridgewater and Darnold. But even if you get a do over and acquire that dynamic rookie QB the OL was still a nightmare at best. And you had an owner who thinks himself a football savant because he's a billionaire. Just a quagmire of circumstances from which it was nearly impossible to emerge unscathed. I harbor no ill will toward McCaffrey. Although I must admit he clearly got fed up and started milking injuries to a degree. Do I necessarily blame him? No. But we did pay him a great deal of money. Anywho I will never root for the Niners though. I will root for them to suck. There is no love lost for that franchise. I despised them through our rivalry during the Harbaugh years and their fans are toxic waste. I never want to see those bandwagoning f*ckers experience winning a Super Bowl. Call me petty if you want
  18. Some people only look at this through Panthers colors lenses. Break down the career touches. First look at Stanford. He averaged roughly 39 touches a game in college. https://www.stack.com/a/how-christian-mccaffrey-built-his-body-to-withstand-one-of-the-biggest-workloads-in-college-football/ In the NFL he is 5th in career touches with 1,806. 668 of those touches are from the last two seasons in San Francisco alone. https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/active-nfl-running-back-most-career-touches At 28 years old with a fresh new large contract and on a team eyeing at least one or two more championship runs with their core mostly intact his touches are not going down. If anything they could very well go up. He's putting the history of the position to the test that's for sure.
  19. Even in some hypothetical scenario where we somehow ended up drafting Shedeur the dialogue about him would probably end up being similar to the early Cam years anyways. It would get ugly quick. You can practically bank on that.
