I don't know you could end up being right but I'm beginning to wonder if this franchise is just snakebit or cursed. Much moreso than the Panthers. At least the Panthers have had success and been to two Super Bowl's. Other than the brief highs in the early years and the 90's this franchise has been dead in the water for so long it's wild. Going on 24 years without a playoff series win. And what's crazy is there are other small market teams that have done remarkably more in short timespans compared to us and with debatable differences in talent levels. Idk if there's anything or anyone that can alter course for this franchise at this point. Just the honest truth.

I get the criticism of Charles Lee to a point but we also need to discuss our GM and some of these signings like Miles Bridges. Seems like more often than not he's inconsistent at best. He's here because we were trying to appease LaMelo but I'm just over this mess. Everyone outside of LaMelo Miller Salaun and Mark Williams should be trade fodder. Blow up the rest of this poo roster.

This awkward rabble about Stroud and emotions is silliness and you know it. I didn't create this thread. I don't create any threads about Stroud or Bryce Young. I respond to what the conversation at large brings forth to the table and his name keeps coming up. And ironically as of late the people Iike yourself who previously had been one of the first to complain about Panthers fans talking about CJ Stroud so much now can't wait to come post about how bad he's playing because it fits into your narrative. Icege. Most of your posts the last several years have been some form of projecting don't trip over your own hypocrisy there my friend. You went this far down the rabbit hole over Teddy Bridgewater too. To the point you were flailing about and assigning enemies across the huddle just as you are now. In camp you were attacking anyone raising any concerns about our passing game and then you shrunk into a corner after the first two games. You did the same thing recently after the Dallas game just fell off the map. What you need to find a way to reconcile with is you do not work public relations for Bryce Young. He will never read any of this. Everyone here even the skeptics minus one or two trolls just want a franchise QB and for us to be relevant and have postseason aspirations again. Where the differences among us come into play is some people will take whatever they can get and others are looking for higher standards because they have seen Cam ultimately fail at developing into his best possible form despite all his talent. Nothing wrong with either approach. But only one will lead us back to a Super Bowl.

We have not played the Ravens all anyone can go on is speculation. But the logic that those of you have been applying for months in this discussion is going to work against you here and highlight your own bias. People like you have been saying the Texans have so much talent. Certainly more than us. To justify why Stroud had looked better than Bryce Young. But looking at how the Ravens wiped the field with them that doesn't look to be the case. Yes Stroud struggled but as I've already said in this thread the Texans roster and organization as a whole is simply not that much superior to ours and never was. So yes with all this in mind I am of the opinion that we would have faced a very steep climb to compete much against the Ravens similarly to the Texans. Would we have managed more than 2 measly points? Maybe. But the way we got walloped by the Cowboys to me is a good enough indicator to give an idea of how a matchup with the Ravens would go at this point in their season.

Roster Moves; QB Plummer signed to active roster
frankw replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wouldn't hang my hat on that performance. That game featured "the drive" by Bryce Young that had us riding a high into the regular season that quickly turned into a nightmare. If Plummer gets playing time it's likely to get ugly. -
Acknowledging this years Chiefs team is not as formidable as some people are suggesting ≠ dismissing Bryce's Young's performance. Rational minds should be able to see the difference and discuss accordingly. But some people act is if Bryce Young literally pays their bills and that's a personal problem they're going to have to figure out how to address on their own.

Oh boy. I must have missed this nugget of info somehow in all the talk of Hubbard going to IR. That's uhhh not good lol

You are so comically thin skinned in any conversation involving Bryce Young. The Chiefs on paper overall are really not that great of a team this season in what has been a down year for most offenses. They have an opportunistic defense and as always they are carried by Mahomes and Kelce. Andy Reid might as well be a fuging sorcerer in comparison to most of the rest of the league my opinions about him on a personal level aside. They are absolutely maximizing what is an inferior team this year compared to others in recent seasons and if I have to argue that with you then you should go take a break and reassess.
-
Coker Sanders and Legette showing well means Bryce showing well so that would be really nice to take into the New Year. Boone or whoever will receive the bulk of the carries emerging as a nice backfield piece would be a cherry on top. And none of this should be unattainable. Our division is bad.
-
Nobody is slandering you for being an an inconsistent fan because most fans are up and down that's sports most people just laugh it off and move on because we all can get that way especially rooting for a bad franchise. But you are continually trying to present yourself as being above the fray and the purest of the pure amongst the fanbase and in turn actually mocking yourself. Just be you dude.
-
If Bryce Young is the QB we believe him to be there is no reason we can't be at minimum competitive. Like this isn't me being a rival fan talking trash this is just being honest. The NFC South is by definition a bad division. It stinks. Bryce Young has the opportunity to make a very strong case for himself heading into the offseason.
-
I certainly hope so. We're going to find out. This to me is the biggest test of the season for Bryce. He doesn't even need to win. But we need to look competent and at least vaguely formidable. He's a first overall pick.

The reality of the year and having lower expectations.
frankw replied to musicman's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wouldn't this comparatively be cause for caution rather than rejoice based on what remains a small sample size? The Giants with Jones in 2022 and the Texans with Stroud in 2023 both went to the playoffs and won a playoff game. We struggle to even compete in our division. -
That same Chiefs team also let the Raiders take them down to the wire recently. But on this subject now that Chuba is on IR we're going to get to see how Bryce does in 2 divisional games without the engine of the offense. And on that note I would say maybe let's take a break on the CJ Stroud criticisms because in all possibility this could get ugly.
-
Panthers fans mocking Stroud for losing that badly to the Ravens should not throw stones from glass houses. I've seen some things as of recently that make me hopeful for the future but I can pretty safely say all that aside we would not have likely faired much better against a Super Bowl ready team like that either. Neither Houston or Carolina is ready for that yet. Just the reality.

There is nothing controversial about wanting to protect the QB and wanting to invest in protecting the QB almost everyone here has agreed on that and even people who have been Bryce skeptics had wanted us to go even further and draft C instead of a running back with an already torn ACL. This narrative you're pushing that no one wanted to protect our QB or invest in the OL because they wanted him to do it all by himself is nonsense and you know it.
-
Most people I've seen are clearly acknowledging he isn't playing well regardless of the OL. He had a number of opportunities in the Ravens game he didn't capitalize. We can only speculate what might be going on. The Ravens are a significantly superior team to them though and that was evident in last years playoff game and yesterday. The Texans are not that much ahead of us in terms of actually competing for much. No matter how much some people have wanted to talk up their roster like it's one of the best in the NFL. It isn't. And to be clear as far as Bryce last year and the OL we paid through the nose to the detriment of our defense to protect Bryce Young and we are currently what looks like 22nd in the NFL in sacks. As expected he has finally started to show growth. And regardless of that some QB's do better than others under duress. Last year the Commanders gave up 65 sacks and still their QB was 12th in passing yards. Despite that and the circumstances he faced he was sent packing to Seattle.
-
Didn't say winning and losing is only solely on the QB at all times. Nobody said anything about wanting to lose games either. Idk why you're injecting that. But my post was made in the context of people currently making posts citing data framing Bryce Young as top 10-15 in the NFL amongst his peers and for that to continue yes he is going to have to lead this team to victories early next season. And no one should have an issue with that statement. There is no reason this team cannot compete in such a mediocre at best division.
