  1. So is this baseless speculation or did they actually hear this from an inside source?
  2. Does anyone actually believe Garrett Wilson is available for trade for anything less than a first round pick?
  3. Fun thread to revisit. Of course CamWhoaaCam wanted to throw the bag at him
  4. I remember I think it was I want to say around the time maybe right after the Bengals or the Bears loss but Helene had just hit and people across NC were struggling hard and he used the moment in a press conference to complain about losing a boat that I imagine was insured anyways. At the time I thought it was in bad taste but looking at it now that was just a glimpse into his state of mind. Self absorbed to the max.
  5. At first glance it's a baffling trade to say the least. Even if the Mavs were concerned about his conditioning and injuries he's still only 25 years old. The Mavs haven't been known to be a poorly run org. That is not to say they are right or wrong here. But there's got to be more than they are letting on about. This will be interesting to revisit in a few years.
  6. How is what you're doing helping anything to quell any toxicity? You did this same routine all throughout last offseason and then we opened the season with two of the worst Panthers games in nearly 3 decades and then you promptly slunk away. Maybe we should all just take a chill pill and remember we root for the Carolina Panthers? I don't expect them to be bad next season but I also don't just automatically expect greatness either. If they are to make progress it's going to be gradual and we will all have to be patient. But if we see stinker games then we need to call it as we see it.
  7. It is not hyperbole to say that at one point last season what had arguably the worst QB room in the league. Entering the season with virtually no changes to that room is a big risk and honestly a slap in the face to the fanbase. The worst thing the Panthers can do is sit on their hands and run it back. That's my opinion. If you don't agree cool no problem.
  8. If you want a veteran QB you can get one younger for the money. Dalton looked horrendous once teams got some tape on him after that Raiders game. He is terrible. Idk why this is something that needs to be debated now. We all saw it with our own eyes.
  9. This "mentor" angle is ridiculous. Bryce Young doesn't need a mentor he's a first overall pick entering his third season. Even beyond that the simple fact is Andy Dalton is simply not a good QB and he's at the tail end of his career. You bring in a young QB or a younger vet for the same level of investment. This really isn't difficult.
  10. It's a waste of time to engage with Stingray. He's made his feelings on Cam Newton extremely transparent already in the past. Any take he has regarding Cam should be disregarded because he plainly just doesn't like Newton which is his right to feel that way and have that personal opinion but he definitely confuses that with having credibility in assessing Cam as a player. Anyone that can type the bolded below and be serious has absolutely no leg to stand on in these discussions. Go shitpost somewhere else.
  11. Can't believe all these years later folks still harbor animosity like this toward him even bringing up the extremely dead beaten horse that was him wearing the towel on his head. Hey I'll tell you straight up bud give me the sore loser that is legitimately livid after a loss 10 times out of 10 over the guys who just laugh it up and move on. Cam got endless grief for trying to change the pitiful culture here. Wild.
  12. It's honestly wild how gambling is so effortless and trendy and intertwined with social media now. And connected directly to sports leagues that used to go way out of their way to not remotely give any vague semblance of impropriety. The only thing I'm surprised about is that this doesn't happen more often. But then again maybe we just haven't heard about things yet to be uncovered. I have to imagine in the coming years we will certainly hear more about things like this.
  13. Exactly. But at the end of the day one play is one play. The Panthers were still in that game late. They just picked the absolute worst time to have their worst game of the season. It was a collective loss. Sh*t happens. It's in the past. Only numbskulls hone in on the fumble in a vacuum.
  14. Sounds good to me now let's get him some talent to work with.
  15. I can certainly agree with that. If it's just a singular factor that's one thing. But it seems to me we've definitely weighed more into it than we should and that started with Fitterer and to this point from my POV has continued under Morgan. I mean let's not forget that Fitterer has had some of the worst overall drafts in franchise history even in comparison to Hurney which is really saying something. As hopeful and optimistic as we are and want to be this time of year there really has not been much change in the approach and the scouting department from all that still remains intact. As important as this draft is for Dan it is more importantly a defining moment for the Panthers as a franchise for the next several years. It's the either the beginning of something really good or just more of the same.
  16. I like Morgan a great deal from a personal standpoint for plainly obvious reasons but as the lead talent evaluator of this team I have become tired of this trope already. Ditch the RAS bullshit. Ditch the need to cling to feel good stories about prospects who have connections to the Carolinas and focus instead on who the best prospect is regardless of background or college they played for. Ditch the cliche tough guy tropes. Stop trying to think you're the smartest guy in the room and that you and only you see things 31 other GM's supposedly don't. Just draft good healthy(!) football players.
  17. The race element can't just be removed sadly. It was present often throughout those years. And to your point about "down South" I will have to point out from my own personal experience the only person I ever encountered who openly used a racial slur in reference to Cam Newton was a Canadian Patriots fan after that Monday night game. I like Jake Delhomme a lot. Both as a player and as a person. But if there is a hypothetical scenario where you have to pick one or the other in their prime and someone picks Jake I would have to question if they're playing with a full deck. Many years from now people will realize how much Cam did for future generations of QB's.
  18. His rookie year the defense gave up the fifth most yards in the league. That was not a top unit by any means. 2012 the defense trended toward middle of the pack. 2013-2015 were the best years. As far as the running game in Carolina we had talented backs but if I recall Jonathan Stewart was the only one to hit 1k rushing yards and he did that only the one time. But it cannot be understated that in short yardage situations Cam was getting the ball. At one point he was damn near the best in the league at it. I will say as far as 2015 goes it's important to note that even as good as that years defense was we won numerous very close games. Idk why these discussions have to bring about such sourness. Those were some of the best years in franchise history and Cam Newton regardless of how anyone may feel about him personally was a jolt of much needed life to what was at that time a rudderless franchise. We didn't know how good we had it. That's all that needs to be said.
  19. Cam Newton always struggled with his accuracy at times but he often threw straight up dimes in his prime don't get it twisted and start making things up folks.
  20. Idk I don't see Hurts successfully going toe to toe with Mahomes.
  21. McDermott and Allen are chokers.
  22. Honestly as tired of the Chiefs as I am I'm even more tired of all the Allen hype. This man simply cannot get past Mahomes. Even the fuging Bengals got past them.
  23. Phantom flag and picked up?
  24. If they can somehow force another KC punt then we're talking. But that's a real tall order.
  25. Way too much time left for Mahomes to pull a couple rabbits out of his ass. If the Bills want a chance to win they need to force another punt and get right back into the end zone.
