  1. He should be booed. But he's not the only one playing tonight. Hopefully they can make a game of it at home.
  2. The thing with him is he looked at minimum serviceable last year. Who were his QB's? Dogwater. So if we're willing to eviscerate the staff and Reich's scheme to run cover for the struggles at one position we should be willing to see what he looks like under different circumstances next season too.
  3. It was tongue in cheek based on his own remarks about Bryce Young criticism. He's consistently dogged on Icky while wailing about any Bryce Young criticism. I'm sure he can speak for himself but I appreciate you trying to mediate that's very kind of you.
  4. Folks are painting Newton out to be a loser his rookie season even though he was rookie of the year and had Sione Fua and Terrell McClain on the defensive line. So many disingenuous arguments being made to prop up Bryce Young.
  5. If you're up before 8 am pooing posts in anger maybe it's you that needs to "get a fuging grip". Just saying...
  6. Worse footwork than rookie Cam Newton? Sheesh. What exactly is Josh McCown doing here?
  7. If he's legitimately banged up I don't see the need to risk him for this one. But if Dalton starts and the offense magically looks efficient again this place is going to be awkward.
  8. Howell is being pressured and sacked at an insane rate but he's producing. His OL is literally ass. Is it all Bienemy and his WR's or is he just that good under pressure? That's the mark of a QB with a bright future.
  9. That's good to know good job. Though the hard to coach thing was silly rather vague and probably the least harmful bc teams that had done even basic homework knew it was nonsense. The other stuff was basically lite Jamarcus Russell territory which is unnecessarily for any QB prospect especially after Newton. Cam never got his footwork down and that held him back from becoming the passer he could have been. I think any of us should know that. Nothing wrong with saying so. Just as there is nothing wrong with having concerns about various aspects of Bryce Young's game. Stroud really should not be a difficult situation to assess at all. The kid was and is a very gifted passer. He could put the ball into tight windows on any throw with pinpoint accuracy. He's been doing that regularly in the NFL. He also is clearly a great leader. Are his offensive counterparts at WR OL and RB bad? Not at all. Are they great? Definitely not. He has a solid left tackle that's a big difference. But as for the weapons he is doing what any very good young QB should do. Elevate. He's producing as a passer and spreading the ball around. As far as the coaching yes DeMeco Ryans shits all over Frank Reich and it isn't close. It's pretty funny he told us to get lost but also a very sobering reflection on our current leadership. All we can do is hope Bryce can find a way to show some signs of life along the way through the rest of our schedule which really is not that bad. At some point we've got to stop acting all woe is me and expect this offense to be halfway competent circumstances aside. That's what you want to see from a #1 pick and those expectations might not be fair but that's what comes with it. Good talk thanks.
  10. Last year Taylor Heinicke and Carson Wentz had McLaurin Dotson and Samuel. Their oline also gave up 48 sacks. How'd that work out of them and where are they now? Also. Howell has 11 career starts. 3 more than Bryce Young.
  11. To be clear we are done with the notion I'm Stroud's dad and his biggest fan now right? I think the Texans are mainly being steered by the tutelage of Ryans putting his stamp on the team after learning under Shanahan and the natural talent and leadership of Stroud. Where they head next year if they take the next step depends on how their GM navigates the offseason. All it takes is a single bad one to send you two steps back. We know all about this. Maybe he'll make a return. We'll certainly recognize him if it happens.
  12. Do you have one of these for Howell to compare with? The Commanders have given up 47 sacks.
  13. Half the league's coaches scouts and executives get sent packing every few years regardless of the amount of tape they digest and the years of experience they have. This league is often just blind luck. There are truly no threads to derail at this point in time. The Panthers could not reach the end zone one single time against the second worst team in the league and undrafted afterthought Tyson Bagent at times looked similar or better than our #1 pick. This is the lowest we've been in a long time. If what you perceive to be shitposting is getting to you I would just direct yourself away from some of these threads. I pity ol' rippadonn. Hopefully he's still hanging in there okay. He's got to feel some level of vindication through this mess.
  14. Comparing Bryce to Cam is peak desperation and should be treated as such at this point in time. Jimmy you crack me up. If I said I had seen every Texans game from front to back you would have doubled down on your comments of me acting like his dad while you agonize and act incredibly offended by the word cope. Instead now you don't have that to fall back on so I apparently just don't have any knowledge of his season. It's called the NFL fantasy app my guy. It's a very useful tool for information.
  15. No he made it about people here defending Cam and not defending Bryce Young enough to his liking while ignoring the fact that Cam was a baller out of the gate in college and the NFL regardless of circumstances. How many other players from that Auburn championship team went on to have lengthy careers? I'll have to go back and look but none come to mind. We both know Cam and CJ were under a microscope and we both know why. I don't think you're paying enough attention we aren't going to agree clearly. I mean when I presented you with the actual data about the Texans run game compared to ours that shows they are right there with us you dismissed it. Then another angry poster came along and poo'd the post lol. Do I really have to keep giving you examples of the coping here? I've watched zero Texans games. I think I've seen bits and pieces of a few highlight plays all year. I do not watch other teams. I have lost a great deal of interest in the league outside of the Panthers. Bryce Young can be the worst QB in the league and I'll still check in to see how he's doing. That doesn't mean I'm going to cope myself into a mess like some other folks here. I've said all I can say.
  16. Firing Reich is the easy part. My concern if after Reich is gone is seeing how the next man up next year builds an offense around Bryce to not only fit his strengths and hide his weaknesses more but also make that a successful unit in comparison to the rest of the league. We are either going to be much happier or we are going to see some of the same issues. I'm thinking it's going to be a mixture of both.
  17. Reich his offense his scheme are undoubtedly complete poo. But he and the staff set themselves up for an even more uphill climb selecting the QB that required the most high quality moving parts around him to succeed. That's all there is to it. If we were deadset on gambling with Bryce Young we should have hired Steichen.
  18. ForJimmy this has nothing to do with you. I didn't say anything about you. In fact you were one of the people who was even handed throughout before the draft. I don't think you understand the post because you endorsed his remarks. He's been doing this. This is about a continued matter from some folks who want to utilize Cam Newton's circumstances and ups and downs when it serves them and draw parallels to Bryce Young that simply do not apply. There's no way CJ or Cam could show up to the combine and stand around in a hoodie with their arms crossed the whole time while everyone else did what was expected of them. Bryce Young has been afforded excuse after excuse that other QB's have not. He hasn't earned any of it yet. It's fine to acknowledge that. I think your last line says we're done engaging for a while bud. Have a good one.
  19. I think he does care about winning. The problem is he has an ego the size of Texas and only wants to win if he is heavily involved in calling the shots so he can soothe his own ego down the line and brag to people about his accomplishment. But none of that has happened and likely will never happen because he does not have a damn clue what he is doing.
  20. Icege is a strange dude. He will hide behind Cam now but I didn't hear a peep out of him when Stroud was being dragged through the dirt before the draft with criticisms very reminiscent of the ignorance thrown at Cam Newton. You know those old lines. Low football IQ. Questioned his personal off the field history. Said he wasn't a leader of men. Asked why he showed up to an awards show wearing a single piece of jewelry instead of sitting at home studying something. Where was Icege? Cam dominated college football he carried his team to and won a national championship. He threw for 900 yards in his first two starts. He gave people instant reasons not to doubt him yet they still did for reasons. His situation was very different from that of Bryce Young. To quote a former Panthers coach. It is what it is. Young has to prove it the same as anyone else before him.
  21. It's a hard pill to swallow hearing Stroud be compared to some of the best QB's of all time. And not like with us before he's even done anything or taken a snap either. He's actually proving it in real time. That Watson trade is crucial for them. Hats off to them for navigating that so well. Anyone can be wrong about a draft pick. Some notable and very wise former Panthers players were absurdly wrong about Stroud. That's how the cookie crumbles I guess. I can't lie to you and say I'm not a little bitter though. Down the line I will put a lot less stock in these things. It's probably the best approach. I figured we would be able to get in the end zone against the Bears. Big yikes. But maybe we'll see some glimmer of progress this weekend. Seems like a tall order. Here's to hoping for at least one trip to the end zone on Sunday and the game not resulting in too much of a blood bath.
  22. Quite a few people here wanted and assumed the Panthers were all in for Stroud. There's still time though. We'll see.
  23. Making a ballsy move is the easy part. There are people here who could make better personnel decisions than the meddling Tepper's. That's the issue and Mr. Tepper has been meddling all along. We have zero winning seasons to show for it. But go off about that after the fact analysis. How those boots tasting?
