  1. Pete really hasn't done anything of note since that final offensive play in the Seahawks second Super Bowl appearance. It's been downhill ever since. In the years since that he's done marginally better than the hapless and embarrassingly incompetent David Tepper led Panthers though. Credit where it's due for that. But that's about it. Not honestly much different than Ron Rivera. He also created a culture of inconsistent accountability in Seattle with preferential bias toward Russell Wilson that ultimately led to the unraveling of one of the leagues best teams. If I'm being honest him starting off his stint with the Raiders of all teams by bringing in Geno Smith who will be 35 this fall isn't a good way to start things off. The AFC playoff picture is.......crowded. That locker room isn't going to have a great deal of patience for Pete's "guys" if they start hitting bumps in the road which is likely given the competitiveness in the conference.
  2. Short term they will probably push for playoffs. But if Pete couldn't get far in the weakened NFC the last several years with "his guys" idk wtf he's planning on doing in the AFC. Good luck with that.
  3. I assume you meant to type "David" Mayo in the title. This makes me feel old.
  4. Maybe you should go back and read your own posts when you're sober from time to time before bashing others.
  5. The only logical thing to do. I'd still like to see us draft a center by next year. It's going to have to happen. It already should have. But that's for another discussion.
  6. Give them a top 10 pick for a WR who will be 28 by the end of the year and will be one of the highest paid at his position? That's how you remain firmly in the cellar as we have been....
  7. I think Legette will make strides this year. I don't doubt he has the work ethic and determination. But I do agree with you our FO is at times bafflingly overconfident which has carried over from Scott Fitterer. The Jonathan Brooks pick is a prime example.
  8. I don't think anyone in here is arguing against improving our secondary. But the fact of the matter is we were 32 out of 32 in run defense while we were 25th in pass defense. Let's get some defensive line reinforcements and go from there.
  9. I'm with you on building from the inside out and if we are making reasonable attempts to do that without overpaying then that's all I can ask for the time being until we see results. But it always makes me laugh to log on here and see some people mocking others for being apprehensive as if this org hasn't had the worst win % in professional sports. Until proven otherwise the onus is on Morgan and the rest of the front office to show they actually know how to build a winning roster.
  10. Yeah they're smoking that good poo.
  11. 15-20 million a year for a safety with our needs across the entire defense? Well that's an interesting path.
  12. Hopium is a hell of a drug in March
  13. Well we have to be fair with ourselves here we turned things around when our season was over. We were thrilled to see it considering how horrendously bad we had been at one point. But now we need to see it when the postseason is still at stake. Obviously we were successful and myself like many others wanted us to invest in the interior OL. That said we did realistically pay through the nose to get it done. To the detriment of our historically bad defense. We're also hoping that we take a few steps forward this season offensively. I certainly would like to see that come to fruition. I think Canales is the right coach. It just all hinges on Morgan. He needs a stellar offseason. Fingers crossed.
  14. He's a first time head coach complimenting a peer that has been in the basement for a long time now. That's really all I take from it. Look I'm a Panthers and Hornets fan through and through and will remain that as long as the teams reside here but let's be realistic. No one is legitimately trying to copy anything with this franchise currently. Hopefully that can be subject to change down the road. We'll have to see.
  15. Absolutely kick the tires and see where it goes.
  16. I didn't know he was from SC. It sounds like he's just being polite. And I'm sure he also sees similarities between himself and Canales too. But investing in the OL intelligently certainly isn't something new. As far as the Bears go however there is no love whatsoever. I wish them only pain.
  17. The position is a need in the mid rounds and if there is a guy like this that plays with an edge and some tenacity then we should pull the trigger.
  18. He was 10th in the league in targets at 32 years old and the Jets won 5 games. I'm not saying he's not talented it's just at this point in his career it's simply not a winning formula to build a passing offense around him. Those days are gone. For a contending team that wants to add another complimentary piece to an already formidable offense on a low end contract he could see interest. But no team is going to be vying for his services to make him the focal point. Which is what he was with the Jets to achieve those numbers you mentioned.
  19. Well when you're right you're right. He was also pounding the table for us to draft DJ Johnson.
  20. When the Raiders and Jets don't even want you anymore you're toast. Hope he's been saving.
  21. He can fug right off somewhere else for that kind of money.
  22. I hadn't heard this but I appreciate the info. I could not agree more I despise that MFer. But he is one of the better offensive minds in league history so I will listen to what he has to say if he is truthfully assessing our situation. And yes he is correct.
