It's all about available media markets vs the current media market. The owners would only approve a move if significantly more money were to be made. Since this is a profitable market and California Texas New York and Florida all have multiple NFL franchises the odds of this team moving anywhere else are very low.

Tepper getting absolutely destroyed on WFNZ
frankw replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
Boy does that sound familiar. They must have accounts. -
At this point Harbaugh and any other potentially franchise altering head coaching option are seeing the behavior of this manchild owner and thinking to themselves they'd rather do anything else.
-
Well sure. We said the same thing about Matt Rhule. They make their money and the team is horribly worse off in the meantime. All you need to know about Scott Fitterer is how the Seahawks have been doing since he left. And his lone claim to fame was being there when they drafted Russell Wilson. Who has been garbage since Seattle let him go. It is unfathomable that we managed to heavily downgrade from Marty Hurney. But that's what we did lol.
-
Doing what Tepper wants may keep him this job but will seriously hurt his chances of getting anywhere near the position again elsewhere. They're both trash.

This tweet sums up Tepper. And by extension says Scott Fitterer is a boot licking sycophant.

Oh I concur 100% we need to actually build an offense and stop thinking we can just drop in a QB. All I'm saying is while I like Bryce Young the person. This offense is seriously limited with him. Defenses know this as much as we do. Chark certainly has questionable hands but this is just a butt ugly offense. And honestly as bad as Chark has been. Bryce throws some wobbly ducks out there. At the end of the day I think if we got to see a few more games of Andy Dalton we would be arguing we need less offensive pieces than we think. The mere mention of that will enrage certain people but that's where I'm at. I was joking. Mike is a fiery kind of guy to a degree from what I've seen of his on field personality. I am honestly surprised we haven't had any blow ups with how awful this season has gone. Remember when DJ Moore publicly challenged our staff? Looks like he did himself a favor. I sincerely hope we can improve next year or the odds of locker room turmoil will increase substantially.

Adam Thielen is 8th in receptions and 100th in yards per reception. He's slow but that's ridiculous. That matches Bryce Young's YPA. Honestly Mike Evans would probably go Robby Anderson on the sidelines here and I would not blame him one bit.
-
Injuries have had an impact. But I cannot say how much Bryce Young not consistently making throws to keep the defense honest is hurting us. We only got to see one game of Dalton. At this point it's clear to me why we haven't let him play again.

I too have looked at Baker Mayfield and found that as a way to look to the possibility we just need to hit on the right staff. But Baker has always had the necessary phsyical intangibles and he's always had a pretty good deep ball. He's also 10th in yards per attempt. It's fair to ask if BY had Mike Evans would he even sniff 1k yards here.

I don't see Tepper letting them take a QB before 2025. He has such a delicate ego and it's already badly bruised. We will have to endure another season of whatever this is.
-
The state of the OL is awful. But at some point folks have to step back and ask is the QB behind center only exacerbating the issues. Even when there are opportunities from the OL we are not capitalizing. Defenses watch the tape and know this. That only means a harder job for the OL.

A review of Scott Fitterer's drafts (spoiler alert: they suck)
frankw replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
I can agree the entire scouting department needs to be cleaned out. But look let's be real about this. Almost all of Fitterer's trades have been underwhelming or just unnecessary at best. And trading all over the place in the draft ultimately got us what? The logic that having two dimes and a nickel is better than having a quarter doesn't jive. Have you gone back and watched some old videos the last year or two and listened to Fitterer talk? It is not just the scouts feeding him this stuff. He believes it too. He's been on record as being a staunch Ian Thomas believer. The guy is terrible at talent evaluation. Random fans here could probably do better. -
Unfortunately he and Nicole aren't going anywhere. Learn to live with it and laugh at the absurd incompetence or just find something better to do.

I wish Icky were Jeff Otah. He's having a very rough go of it. Though it is amusing that people who think our 22 year old #1 pick is a new staff away from being a franchise QB think this 23 year old kid is for sure damaged goods.

A review of Scott Fitterer's drafts (spoiler alert: they suck)
frankw replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
I chuckled that someone on the first page immediately took to blaming Matt Rhule and the scouts. Fitterer sees himself as some sort of wheeling and dealing guru when in reality he is significantly worse than both Marty Hurney and Dave Gettleman. All that being said David Tepper is and has been in his ear pushing and prodding along the way. There's a reason he's so seemingly resistant to canning the guy.- 43 replies

Well I guess the pendulum has swung back against PFF yet again. After the Packers game they were gospel. All depends on what narrative someone is looking to build.

Revisit the crime scene and relive the moment.

45 minutes of cringe. -
Uh no. I don't give a damn what he or any other player says in a press conference. Words can't change results. He can stand there and make fart noises for all I care. Spam my old user profile all you want. Doesn't change the fact you look like a ridiculous hypocrite. Enjoy your New Years bud.
-
Interesting that after weeks of carrying water for Bryce Young you're all about microanalyzing the sideline demeanor of a 23 year old.

If we're talking about the hypocrisy of the league and the fact that Kraft and Irsay have embarrased the league and they still own their teams sure I'll be in agreement with you. They're both scumbags. Fug them. Jerry had some good and some bad as an owner. To a degree he did at least learn on certain things. He had his sons in a position of power within the team and he kicked their asses out. Of course he also rehired Marty Hurney and that move alone negates a lot of things. As far as his ouster goes he did bring that on himself. He was an arrogant MFer and thought he had clout with the rest of the owners when really they just viewed him as someone to use. If you're asking me if I would choose JR if my only other option was Tepper then yeah I guess. All in all neither of these men should be the owner of the Carolina Panthers. We have to expect better.

Oh?

We are not going to find any good head coaching candidates willing to give Bryce Young two full seasons no matter what and risk getting canned like Rhule and Reich and their first and possibly only opportunity as a head coach going down in flames. Tepper is going to have to take one on the chin and accept that BY is on the outside looking in regardless of any other circumstances. He will have to look like a completely different QB next season. Folks here who deal in pleasantries and fantasies will have to accept this as well. This sport will chew you up and spit you out. It is and will always be a what have you done for me lately league.

List of all the bad things Tepper has done
frankw replied to TeppersEgos's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lessons can only be learned if one is humble enough to realize they are not infallible. His press conference after firing Reich and purposely mispronounced his name while making the entire situation about himself leads me to believe it's a longshot at best to think he's learned enough to truly change his approach. This is who he has been his entire adult life.
