Honestly this is the easy part overall. Changing our trajectory with our ability to identify and draft good to very good talent is all I'm looking for right now. Given our new salary cap outlook it's even more crucial now. No pressure Dan.

I don't know his value to the rest of the league I'd imagine a mid rounder would be the best offer. People suggesting a 3rd are comedians.
-
It's neither positive nor negative it's stating the situation. Just because you don't like it being discussed doesn't make it negative. Are we not allowed to point out the resource allocation we've made toward the offensive line? We'll be discussing it plenty as the season progresses so maybe be less sensitive about it.

The CJ Stroud hate was rarely vitriolic? People were questioning his character his intelligence his background because of his father why he showed up to an event wearing a single piece of jewelry around his neck instead of sitting at home staring at a wall he was also called out by blowhards like Brady Quinn for not attenting The Forehead's QB camp etc etc. Whereas Bryce Young had every excuse afforded to him because he played for Alabama even when he decided to forego throwing at the combine. Let's not revise history here. And furthermore I can go back and show you the log of several hundred poo reactions over the span of roughly a month leading up to the draft from one Bryce Young fanatic in particular who has since gone missing. There were other posters who either got banned or returned on new accounts after having full throated meltdowns over their defense of Bryce Young. Most rational people want Bryce Young to succeed regardless of if they wanted CJ Stroud more because what's done is done. But we will not stop hearing about that until Bryce Young shows and proves why he was selected first overall regardless of all the other moving parts around him. Great players elevate. It's as simple as that.

Nothing against Theilen but I'd take Renfro over his bottom of the league YAC.

Where have I complained about the signings? I was supportive of the signings. The issue is regardless of who will be the QB by 2025 we still have depth issues across the line center is iffy at best and we've catapulted to the top of the cap allocation for offensive line across the entire league with only signing two guards. It is not hating on anyone or anything to discuss the fact that while we have on paper majorly addressed one of our biggest flaws from last season it still remains to be seen in play.

Since we all agree the OL was a major issue that needed resolving and we have now done so at significant cost in the short term. I thought it would be a good discussion to keep up with as the offseason gets underway and we keep tabs on our progress building the line. Currently we are leading the way by a fairly significant margin. Here's to hoping the results line up with expectations. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/positional/offensive-line/

Those are not serious people. And also we need some consistency in this fanbase. Mingo is no more a bust than Bryce Young until we see both of them with our new staff and a different team around them.
-
He's bounced around the league a good bit the last few years. But for a reasonable price sure why not.
-
I think he would be a good signing for us to alleviate the concerns after the Burns trade. But I know the honeymoon won't last long between our fanbase and this guy if people had so much vitriol for Burns.
-
I think you're overplaying your hand. You're talking to someone who has read most of the posts about him going back to before the draft. For sure there are some people who don't like him and clearly never will. I think you can count those posters here on one hand. On the other there has been a level of toxicity from people who have anointed him from jump street and honestly those folks have been the more obnoxious of the two. If anyone has an issue with that being stated. Well tough titty.

If he's "the guy" he's expected to be as a top overall pick he will show up to camp looking like he's been hitting the weights for at least a few months
-
I don't know much about him but looking at his stats he's only 27 and he's put up good numbers and all we had to give up is Donte Jackson and a late round pick swap. Sounds like a solid move on paper. I'll be eager to see what Canales can get out of him.

The cap can be maneuvered but we all know what kicking the can down the road leads to. I'm assuming the plan is some positions will simply be stopgap until we can better position ourselves with draft picks over the next few years. Of course that's where the concern enters because we really need to nail most of the picks but so far we've been horrendous and we retained the same scouting dept. Morgan has a great deal on his plate and he has plenty of question marks as a first time GM that worked directly with Fitterer. I'll reserve judgment and try to avoid getting too high or low until we get to camp and preseason.
-
We have well over one hundred million dollars tied up in the oline to protect the smallest starting QB in the league that we traded a ransom to move up for. What exactly are you expecting? Filling in the roster with what we can get while we work on the offense was always the inevitability like it or not.
-
Can't absolve him of his role with Fitterer. He was directly involved in some very poor decisions. All I can do is hope he drafts well. But. He is working with the same scouting dept so that's not exactly encouraging. We'll see.
-
People here pumping up Dan Quinn? Interesting taste.
-
If Evero approves I'm alright with it. He's 29 though so we're just plugging in what we can until we can reload with another draft next year.
-
Certainly the revolving door with the coaching staff did him no favors.
-
I liked Chinn. Sucks to see him go. I'll always remember that highlight game he had. Could argue we didn't use him and squandered him. On the flip side you could argue that he not unlike Burns was in the mold of an although talented player he just didn't have that consistent game changer mentality. Maybe we've gotten hung up on players that flashed just enough to give us hope. Even Kony Ealy looked pretty good in SB50. Doesn't make a career though.
-
We've got bigger concerns just be glad anyone is here posting tweets or links.

I like it. If we lack pass rushers on the edge at least we have some girth in the middle
