  1. I can understand the sentiment. But I'm not diving into hope this early again. I need to get a look at the rookies and the oline in camp and I need to see how this offense and defense look in preseason. Until then talk is cheap.
  2. Lot of mostly meh in that list and they're all stopgaps at or approaching 30. I know some are after Chase Young but he's bouncing between teams now for a reason. Wasn't Ngakoue someone we considered last season? All in all it's either another trade with a significant payday right after it or just plug in what we can and retool next year. Might as well accept what's likely to happen.
  3. I hear you but I'd rather put that into a TE honestly. We've got Ian Thomas Tommy Tremble and who?
  4. Solid move for the defensive backfield. Hopefully not an overpay. Now let's get a pass rusher.
  5. He'll be 30 by the time the season starts and he is going to want one last big payday. Meh.
  6. Yes but as egotistical and vindictive as he is it would only happen by force. Someone is going to have to get a job with the Panthers and take one for the fanbase. Otherwise just accept we're boned watch the fireworks that follow the Tepper's and enjoy some food and beverages while the madness unfolds.
  7. Sounds like he's just looking for attention. So basically a drop in the bucket for broader social media.
  8. He himself said he doesn't want to be in the middle of a rebuild. He still has some value in the receiving game as a possession guy but he's going to be around maybe this season and that's it. Not like he is in our long term plans. If you can get someone younger then do that. Nothing wrong with that.
  9. It's a non homer take nothing wrong with that. Different strokes for different folks. Some people want to look at it glass half full others are in show me then we'll talk mode. I get it completely. But we all want the same thing.
  10. He's a douche but I wish I could argue with him on this. Unfortunately this is what the Tepper's have done to us. We are the punchline.
  11. The Panthers are due some good luck. That's my hope with these moves. But you also can't ignore the elephant in the room that is our history with free agency and generally when we've made a big swing from about average level of resources into an area to top of the league it hasn't usually been pretty. I still want to see the OL depth addressed in the draft and honestly if we've dug ourselves this far to address the position group I'd even make a move for a decent center because I'm not all in on Corbett. Remember at one point we all thought Bozeman was the guy of the future now he's looking for a job. Keep stacking depth.
  12. Honestly this is the easy part overall. Changing our trajectory with our ability to identify and draft good to very good talent is all I'm looking for right now. Given our new salary cap outlook it's even more crucial now. No pressure Dan.
  13. I don't know his value to the rest of the league I'd imagine a mid rounder would be the best offer. People suggesting a 3rd are comedians.
  14. It's neither positive nor negative it's stating the situation. Just because you don't like it being discussed doesn't make it negative. Are we not allowed to point out the resource allocation we've made toward the offensive line? We'll be discussing it plenty as the season progresses so maybe be less sensitive about it.
  15. The CJ Stroud hate was rarely vitriolic? People were questioning his character his intelligence his background because of his father why he showed up to an event wearing a single piece of jewelry around his neck instead of sitting at home staring at a wall he was also called out by blowhards like Brady Quinn for not attenting The Forehead's QB camp etc etc. Whereas Bryce Young had every excuse afforded to him because he played for Alabama even when he decided to forego throwing at the combine. Let's not revise history here. And furthermore I can go back and show you the log of several hundred poo reactions over the span of roughly a month leading up to the draft from one Bryce Young fanatic in particular who has since gone missing. There were other posters who either got banned or returned on new accounts after having full throated meltdowns over their defense of Bryce Young. Most rational people want Bryce Young to succeed regardless of if they wanted CJ Stroud more because what's done is done. But we will not stop hearing about that until Bryce Young shows and proves why he was selected first overall regardless of all the other moving parts around him. Great players elevate. It's as simple as that.
  16. Nothing against Theilen but I'd take Renfro over his bottom of the league YAC.
  17. Where have I complained about the signings? I was supportive of the signings. The issue is regardless of who will be the QB by 2025 we still have depth issues across the line center is iffy at best and we've catapulted to the top of the cap allocation for offensive line across the entire league with only signing two guards. It is not hating on anyone or anything to discuss the fact that while we have on paper majorly addressed one of our biggest flaws from last season it still remains to be seen in play.
  18. Since we all agree the OL was a major issue that needed resolving and we have now done so at significant cost in the short term. I thought it would be a good discussion to keep up with as the offseason gets underway and we keep tabs on our progress building the line. Currently we are leading the way by a fairly significant margin. Here's to hoping the results line up with expectations. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/positional/offensive-line/
  19. Those are not serious people. And also we need some consistency in this fanbase. Mingo is no more a bust than Bryce Young until we see both of them with our new staff and a different team around them.
  20. He's bounced around the league a good bit the last few years. But for a reasonable price sure why not.
  21. I think he would be a good signing for us to alleviate the concerns after the Burns trade. But I know the honeymoon won't last long between our fanbase and this guy if people had so much vitriol for Burns.
  22. I think you're overplaying your hand. You're talking to someone who has read most of the posts about him going back to before the draft. For sure there are some people who don't like him and clearly never will. I think you can count those posters here on one hand. On the other there has been a level of toxicity from people who have anointed him from jump street and honestly those folks have been the more obnoxious of the two. If anyone has an issue with that being stated. Well tough titty.
  23. Or maybe we just need a balance between someone being a hater and someone carrying his water. When you can't even state the reality of the situation without dudes barreling in here acting like his momma I'd say that fits the bill of a syndrome too.
  24. I'm pleased with this. His speed should be a nice asset in our offense under Canales. And unlike our previous staff I expect to see him getting a fair amount of usage.
