  1. I can't find video of it because it was 13 years ago (that is insane) but this is rookie season Cam and I know Panthers fans remember this one. https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2011/10/9/2479170/saints-vs-panthers-cam-newton-steve-smith-fight-video Can you even imagine Bryce involved in any kind of on field scuffle let alone running into one? Let's just keep Cam out of all this. The man was rare.
  2. Idk what's happening on the last page of this thread but if anyone was around through the entirety of the Cam years and sums him up as cool calm and collected like he was some boring milquetoast they must have been watching something else. I mean I guess I imagined all the taunting and over the top celebrating and the ensuing constant handwringing over that from certain people in our fanbase for about a decade. If Bryce is low key and that works and translates to wins and better days in the Carolinas for Panthers fans I'll be on board. But let's not rewrite history regarding one of the most heavily scrutinized QB's of the last 20 years.
  3. It does seem to convey inconsistent messaging. But I'm going to give them at least the first quarter of the regular season to show me some edge. If it's more of the same I'm going to call it like I see it. Some folks are caught up in emotional attachments I'm beyond all that. I just want a winning culture and whoever we need to replace to get there is what should be done. It's always about the betterment of the franchise.
  4. Even all the rookie QB's who haven't played a single snap ranked above him? I really hope Bryce is using all this as motivation in some capacity. Because if this doesn't motivate him I don't know what will.
  5. Stewart had ridiculous lower body strength. That was key to his game. If Brooks builds up on that which i assume he will there is nothing to be concerned about.
  6. I'm all for this. Needs to happen for spotting the ball altogether. No more favorable spot shenanigans for teams that are favorites of the league.
  7. If Tom Brady ends up being an awful commentator it will be such sweet sweet schadenfreude. Congrats to Greg Olsen!
  8. Well. I know camp is right around the corner because in the span of 48 hours I've seen Bryce Young compared to Christian McCaffrey and Steve Smith Sr. The mental gymnastics are...
  9. He's Patrick Mahomes.... 3 time Super Bowl champion. BTW he was still 9th in YPG. BY was all the way down the list at 35th. Our issue last season wasn't that we were running dink and dunk. There were simply throws that weren't on the table or attempted for whatever reason anyone wants to conclude. Half the field was off the table more often than not. Every defense we faced knew this. Pair that with constantly being in shotgun because our starting QB wasn't comfortable working under center and you get the league's worst offense. Our head coach has a lot on his plate to say the least.
  10. Oh I wouldn't want to derail this fine thread with talk of culinary exploits.. But if you must know I am a man who has thoroughly enjoyed my fried chicken over the years. Now I keep it simple with high quality boneless skinless chicken breast seasoned to perfection with some legit Carolina BBQ sauce.
  11. Who threw that pass? I thought Cam was retired.
  12. I'm actually going on yet another relaxing walk enjoying this wonderful weather. After that going to cook up some delicious chicken. Ya know normal Tuesday stuff. I appreciate your concern.
  13. All this anger over the 46th ranked passer of the 2023 NFL season.
  14. No doubt his tendencies are all known to opposing defenses. That's the biggest hurdle Canales has in all this beyond obviously getting him to a level of being an average or above average passer. All this talk of addressing the footwork and basic fundamentals is great for the annual offseason fluff machine but it's going to get put to the test as early as preseason. That's the first passing grade we need to see from Bryce. Not moving the ball and getting in the end zone in preseason is not an option.
  15. Each QB in our division is without a doubt beatable. We need to get competitive now before our rivals continue to retool and one of them eventually hits the jackpot on a franchise QB. Canales don't let us down.
  16. Progress is progress. Throw some beautiful long passes and throw some touchdowns in preseason and I'll be a happy man with something to look forward to on the football front.
  17. It's not that serious but you've now doubled and tripled down in your defense of your totally benign comment while calling others triggered. Very interesting. 98% of us want Bryce Young to be the guy rather than start over yet again. But we also don't need to sit around feeling sorry for him considering he has a guaranteed rookie contract a lot of bottom of the roster players would be lucky to see over the entirety of a career. Just a heads up. You can talk Bryce Young without gargling his nuts or calling him trash. There's this whole world of middle ground out there.
  18. No doubt that's a big part of it. But Gurley was one of the more talented running backs of the last decade. Crazy to think he's only 29 and hasn't played in about 4 years. That's a valuable resource not just for his history with a similar injury but learning about how to stretch more longevity out of what is usually a shorter career for the position that has become devalued recently.
  19. In an effort to redirect the thread back to the OP. I just watched a clip from the Panthers social and Jonathan Stewart was talking to Brooks and Sanders. Brooks specifically mentioned he has been in contact with Todd Gurley for advice on the position. That's good to hear. If for nothing we have two early offensive picks who seem keen to not only compete but are humble enough to reach out to avaliable sources of information to better themselves. It's still very early and maybe it will pay off and maybe it won't but this is a nice change of pace from the seemingly lackadaisical mentality of offensive picks such as Terrace Marshall Jr.
  20. So it's okay to have a pity party for the worst starting QB in the league last year but if I attempt to bring any perspective to your take I'm the one that needs to lighten up And for comparison sake. Another young quarterback who was also sacked about 65 times ended up being traded after enduring such a miserable season and he's making not much above league minimum per season. It could always be worse. Wise words to live by.
  21. Do we know he wants to sell them? Are we really going to vilify a working class PSL holder to justify a billionaire who highly values his concert money raising ticket prices?
  22. Where there's a will there's a way. And maybe even a pot of gold waiting at the end. He's doing just fine. Let's put away the violin.
  23. https://www.carolinahuddle.com/topic/227686-i-hope-you-know-what-this-means…/
  24. It's a start. Now if he can actually throw any semblance of a consistent deep ball.
