  1. There was a whole lot of coping going on in that thread damn. Life comes at you fast!
  2. Bryce Young has been handed starting gigs since he was a kid and his parents paid for him to get the best coaching available. It cannot be understated what playing for Saban and Alabama did for him in terms of his perception in the media. The hype he has received and the pass he still receives is like nothing I've ever seen. You would think he willed a mediocre Alabama team to a national championship and won it largely on his own. Cam Newton did that. And he still wasn't regarded as the best QB in his class. Bryce showed up to the combine and hid out in a hoodie. He knew full well what he was doing and you best believe his parents were in his ear advising him to do so too. He looks like a guy who has never had to face real adversity in his life. And the Panthers have only reinforced that and further coddled him. The results speak volumes.
  3. Posted this before but for 2025 our salary cap spending on the offense versus the defense is comically lopsided. We have invested a great deal just to try and make this kid look even mediocre and he can't do it. https://overthecap.com/positional-spending
  4. Watched the video read this guys responses in the comments. He's just another in a long line of folks carrying water. The Panthers have many problems and 99% of folks readily acknowledge that. But to just ignore the fact that Bryce Young's distinct lack of ability to throw downfield competently and consistently and his horrible ball placement is putting the offense and the defense as a result in predicaments throughout games is not even a viewpoint worth responding to anymore. These people cannot be helped.
  5. Whew buddy that's rough. You can assess all the factors with the team this is truly a bad franchise but at the same time the lack of flashes or elevating anyone around him at any level is impossible to ignore. Go to Andy or Hendon and just roll with that for the rest of the season good and bad. Either of them will poo the bed too sooner or later but at least we will try to move the ball downfield and actually see who is and is not worth keeping around developmentally.
  6. Is Bryce Young going to wake up tomorrow morning and have the physical tools of Baker Mayfield?
  7. His numbers for the season so far are admittedly impressive. I'll be curious to see how he sustains it. I have a hard time believing he would be doing that here though. I think he's where he wanted to be which is a bigger market.
  8. The overall vibe I get from Dave Canales on gamedays is he not a head coach. He's just running the offense and hands off with everything else. At the same time it's challenging to guage specifically where the lack of consistent intensity and aggressive football stems from when the go to defacto leader of the team is quiet unsure of himself and lacks the necessary physical tools to succeed at this level.
  9. Wouldn't shock me one way or another. I'm just not on board with moving any young players this season. Even Bryce Young. Deal with that after the season. Just bench him turn the page and go to the next guy. See how your receivers and tight ends respond. This is what I had always assumed it would be the last several months. A developmental season for everyone including our head coach. Now see what transpires and figure out who is worth keeping.
  10. Maybe. We can only speculate. But I say let the young wide receivers and tight ends sink or swim without question this season. Right now we just need someone that can deliver them passes beyond 10 yards more often than once or twice game.
  11. There actually has been quite a lot of criticism of Morgan. Him being Fitterer’s former best friend and there with him though many bad moves has been discussed extensively. It's just reached a point where more people now realize he is just a figurehead as was Fitterer and the Tepper's have been and still are pulling strings behind the scenes and heavily involved in major moves and decisions. So long as that exists it really doesn't matter who the GM is.
  12. This is a young team that hasn't won anything. That is a hurdle in itself. But beyond that you need guys who can rally around each other. You need competitors who feed off one another. Where is that here? It's plainly obvious this team has no real leader. You can't expect the guys on the defense or your running back to carry the torch. They are complimentary leaders. You still need that guy who is leading you into battle so to speak. The spark. All we have is someone who can apparently wow some middle aged squares at dinner but where is the generational Payton Manningesque field general leadership we were sold on our #1 pick by so many LOUD voices before the draft?
  13. I get what you're saying but we're in another galaxy beyond inspirational speeches. This is just a snakebit franchise and probably will remain that so long as the Tepper's own the team. Everything they touch turns out bad. And there's no sign of them ceasing their meddling ways.
  14. At this point it's unfortunately more than incompetence it is deliberate negligence. Everything they have done (Staff FO ownership) the last 3 offseasons has been to make things as comfortable as possible for their #1 overall pick. No real competition whatsoever at the most consequential position on the field three consecutive years. I mean that's insane negligence beyond even some of the most poorly run franchises in sports. That's where we're at.
  15. More than wild it is dumb and inconsistent considering how much we've allowed from our QB. Nearly what 35 games? And the jury is still out on him? But Legette is a for sure bust after 18 games? We are not a serious franchise.
  16. No idea why it took this long. Expectations are low. We also need to get Legette back out there. If we are holding someone off the field for playing poorly we won't be able to field a team. Get out there and earn your contract.
  17. Just draft a QB next year that actually has real physical traits and an NFL arm and keep it pushing. This season is a wash all we're going for now is whatever level of development we can gain which probably won't be much.
  18. He certainly seemed to have no problem "demonizing" CJ Stroud.
  19. Yeah he ran from that thread immediately. Weak.
  20. Demonization is an absurd term to apply in this discussion in relation to Bryce Young. Demonization would be how fans still outwardly rooted against Cam Newton even after he looked like a generational talent earned rookie of the year honors and MVP. This is not that. At all. All that is happening currently are people applying expectations of a first overall pick. Even if we lose even if we aren't good show us flashes of what a #1 pick is supposed to do. Elevate YOUR team. And we are not seeing that.
  21. Oof that picture. Cannot fathom anyone in the decision making process thought this was going to be a rousing success.
  22. Our media team is so out of touch it is unconscionable.
  23. At this point if Canales goes so be it. The issue is you seem to adopting the same mentality as others which is basically parroting the exact same takes from two years ago with Reich blaming everything solely on him while trying to direct attention from the fact the starting QB is extremely limited. You cannot fire two entire coaching staffs and still act as if the QB is only one small part of the problem. He is at the center of all the problems. And the problem with firing yet another coach to shield Bryce Young is nobody is going to want to take this job. It's already undesirable with the Tepper's. But to take a job under the guise of fixing a literal 2X coach killer is a nonstarter. The only possible coach you might get in here is some horrible coordinator that will just be another crony sycophant to the Tepper's. The only path forward is to rip the bandaid off bench Young and just put one foot in front of the other and treat this as an audition year for everyone.
