  1. "Bryce Young taking some chances" .... with Diontae Johnson's health.
  2. Teddy Bridgewater had a cannon by comparison versus what we've been subjected to.
  3. Can you stop being the ministry of propaganda here? That ball was too far out of bounds for the receiver to make a play on it without making an acrobatic grab and that was an issue last season as well. I mean the guy got shaken up trying to haul it in and you're still desperately running interference. Do you think that won't eventually result in some tempers flaring if he continues this trend into the regular season like last year? DJ will absolutely let BY hear about it eventually. Our receivers have to help the QB and our QB has to help the receivers. It's a two way street.
  4. Ugly isn’t the word. That's our first overall pick who sat out the first preseason game tossing a no look INT. Looks errily familiar to some turnovers from last year. Just brutal.
  5. I just can't say what they will or won't be until I see them actually play together with the rest of the OL. I hope they are good as is the rest of the offensive line. But it's been an issue for years now. I think the odds of a night and day turnaround are low. Anywho I really want to see these guys up against the Jets in some real action. Much has been said about resting our starters but for the longest time it seems like every year we've talked about the oline needing time to gel and we have a new head coach a new offense and new key players along the position group this season and some people think the way we are going about this is no problemo. I'm very skeptical. These guys need to get out there for a few series in a preseason game. The whole offense does.
  6. Two of the best guards on other talented rosters last year. We haven't seen them play a down with this offensive group in live game action yet. And let's be honest. We overpaid. History hasn't been kind to our Panthers under such circumstances. I'm not saying we shouldn't have signed them but to invest such a steep amount and then leave center basically up in the air is just baffling. You can agree yes?
  7. When he gets set to throw the WR and DB aren't even in the frame. He's throwing to a spot but he's putting it too far out. He made a habit out of this last season too. You can find highlights of receivers contorting themselves trying to haul the passes in. Bryce Young simply has iffy deep ball accuracy and always has. There just hasn't been any improvement.
  8. I saw deep pass "attempt" and immediately groaned. Can we ever get a "completion"?
  9. The OL was a huge part of Scott Fitterer's failure as GM and the first thing Dan Morgan does is play Russian roulette with the most integral position of the oline. Your Carolina Panthers ladies and gentlemen lol.
  10. College highlights... And you wonder why people in the fanbase might be irritable?
  11. There are many people within the fanbase that are dug in on their positions regarding QB. They are all understandable. Some believe no matter what without consistent verified results because they are tired of being what they perceive to be negative even though others simply regard it as reality. Others don't believe and won't believe until they see those consistent results from a first overall pick. And that is what separates a jag who can occasionally make certain throws but more often than not doesn't get it done. That's not a franchise QB. That's not even a flash in the pan. That's not even a Sam Darnold or a Kyle Allen or a Matt Moore. That's simply a swing and a miss. Some people complain to no end about the existence of this discussion but taking that out on fans here is misplaced. We do not control day to day team operations. The staff made the decision they made regarding the first week of preseason and set this back in motion. Direct the complaints of the state of discourse where it belongs. Shooting the messenger isn't helping either.
  12. Yeah watching that clip is definitive confirmation on his unwillingness to pull the trigger in certain scenarios and that's all over the tape from last year. This Jets joint practice is going to tell us plenty. Whether or not he actually plays in preseason I think the odds are low. Canales has been spooked by the injuries. It's an obvious and convenient way to delay the inevitable.
  13. Basically what I'm seeing around the league so far in preseason is we have the worst QB room by far by choice. Several Baby Goat clones moving the ball with relative ease while we fill our QB room with WalMart greeters because we wouldn't want to have any competition or hurt feelings.
  14. https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/4361607/andrew-peasley
  15. If you come across it I'd like to revisit that. The thing with Mingo is he has been an enigma of hot/ice cold. Even I recognize some of those instances may not be on just Bryce. There have been plays where Mingo just doesn't have his head in it. But glaring ones like that I linked are an example that better coaching fundamentals and scheme alone cannot overcome a lack of consistent physicality from your QB. The way that we have to microanalayze and berate other over air yards and stretch the limits of the term "deep pass" to validate the arm talent of our first overall pick speaks volumes in and of itself.
  16. How about this one? How many rookie QB's from this year's draft class do you think make this a completion 9 times out of 10? https://www.nfl.com/videos/bryce-young-misses-golden-opportunity-for-45-yard-td-pass-to-mingo
  17. It does not take several years to establish an offense that can at least move the ball even halfway effectively lmao. Please stop thinking like Matt Rhule. The 7 years thing is long gone. Also the Commanders arguably had a worse OL than we did last year. And their head coach was Ron Rivera. It's okay to have expectations folks.
  18. JD already in the end zone his first drive. Even the lowly Commanders seem to have no trouble moving the ball and scoring. If BY and the offense can't move the ball against the Jets they deserve the criticism and then some.
  19. Dolphins held out 40 players and still put up 20 points. You can question the QB situation there but you can't deny the staff knows how to move the ball and get on the scoreboard. It's the complete opposite with us until proven otherwise. Thursday night was only validation of such.
  20. It's good that the rest of the league is seeing this. Everyone can get a good look at how not to run a football team. The Panthers had the worst starting QB in the league last season by a wide enough margin to fit a big rig through and our biggest concern was making said QB as comfortable as possible instead of doing what's best for the team.
  21. Sad as it is to say they are still doing a better job of addressing their QB situation in the short term than the Panthers have at any point in the last 4 years. They aren't trading away assets for bums like Sam Darnold or trading hauls to move up to #1.
  22. I will say Zavala for all the ire he's gotten when he was a rookie could end up being a good lineman for us. What I saw of him in the draft interviews indicated a hard worker and a smart kid.
