  1. In no way am I arguing the receivers are perfect or not in need of working on their craft. But when you bring in a quarterback and trade draft capital to do that at some point he has to take it upon himself and guide this young group some. Sam Darnold is supposed to be the guy. We can have this conversation now but we don't want to be having it next month. Sam needs to get reps in live game scenarios and they all need to work out the kinks together simple and plain.
  2. Because he's a fourth year pro and was a highly touted prospect in the draft. This isn't some undrafted scrub.
  3. Yeah the coddling has officially gotten out of hand. Darnold is unproven and needs to be a leader of men not treated like he's still in pampers. You can publicly trash your receivers only so many times before it has a negative effect on the locker room.
  4. I get that people want to look to the outlier that was the 2015 season as a comparison that anything can happen but that team had veteran leadership and a pretty close knit locker room. The young talent of this roster has the capability to reach that potential but this is not that team. The Panthers offense and secondary in particular need more reps together and saying so isn't saying they suck or they won't be good or that practice 100% defines a team. But why are we desperate to convince ourselves this does not matter at all when this franchise has had such little sustained success? Strive for more. This franchise has been bottom of the division two years running and they aren't going to reverse that by convincing themselves they don't need to put in work!
  5. I don't know why this needs to be said but we aren't a dynasty and have a history of coming out flat in games
  6. You stay up all night with a megaphone engaged in no less than three or four spats with different posters at any given time and skulk around different profiles of anyone you deem to be unfit. You have complained about namecalling yet you are the only one recently that I have seen come right out and call other fans assholes because they don't subscribe to your every thought as a fan. You are the biggest contributor to the issues here and if you can't or won't see it your life and your experience here will only spiral more. Just relax!
  7. Jimmy Clausen wasn't even coddled like this.
  8. Well we shouldn't still be shuffling the line at this stage the best thing for Sam is to build continuity yesterday so if we are truly that concerned for his health he might as well get his feet wet now.
  9. Being late August and a 17 game schedule is around the corner would it not be more prudent at this stage to get him used to live fire so to speak in this offense rather than trying to stage favorable scenarios for him? It seems like we are being more cautious with him than some teams with actual rookie quarterbacks.
  10. The front office really needs to learn from these injury risk signings everyone else saw the glaring concerns. I don't know how anyone can look at linebacker and think to themselves they like what they see. Odds are opposing quarterbacks will definitely like it though.
  11. The spot should be earned if Erving can't go bummer but next man up!
  12. What's done is done no sense kicking him on his way out he didn't draft himself. I'm thankful we have Chinn and Marshall and hopefully we will keep that streak going now that the former radio host is gone.
  13. You log on here just to poop posts and slink away but it's everyone else that's toxic? It's just sports go take a nice walk don't take it out on others in your personal life ✌
  14. Calling fans assholes for having the nerve of wanting adequate oline protection for the starting quarterback that you have spent months defending from any and all possible criticism is indicative of your general toxic attitude toward differing views. Yet others are the problem while you are the victim. Right. Personally I was good with both the picks of Christensen and Brown but the question was all the loafing back and forth about is BC a guard or a tackle and the big reason for optimism when we selected him was that he would hold down the right or left spot. As long as we can protect the quarterback there will be few complaints it's as simple as that.
  15. That's a classic! Sorry they're not playing Conway Twitty
  16. You don't want to give up on the guy early but this is what people were trying to tell some fans who had him penciled in as the next all pro Panthers linebacker. Carolina took risks on multiple oft injured players for key roles and so far it's going as expected. Somehow the team didn't see it though.
  17. Honestly expected this at some point after his sudden exit from the scouting dept. I don't have any animosity toward the Bills it's not like it's a rival and they are an AFC team anyway. But whatever capacity he is there visiting in I can't call it anything but a loss for Carolina with one of the youngest rosters in the league and a defense in need of leadership and mentorship. This regime really needs a winning season or at least something to build on. Good luck to Luke.
  18. He will be able to rehab and get another shot next year hopefully. We all want to win but you can strive for that standard without losing your humanity. I wish him luck in his recovery.
  19. The two most outspoken posters shouting about this are also the two most volatile contributors who engage in personal attacks most frequently while asking for moderation over difference of opinion. They know who they are. I'm sure I'll get another poop for this post from one of them momentarily lol.
  20. Considering he's been at this thing for a short time he did just fine. We could do much worse than having one of the best players in franchise history commentating for us. I welcome more of it.
  21. Until results prove otherwise I can't say Sam is head and shoulders above PJ. Both quarterbacks can sling it and move around the pocket well but both quarterbacks have questionable decision making and that's the variable that can make or break the season. But both are still much better options than Bridgewater was because they'll actually take chances and try to push the ball downfield. But when you look at it from that angle Teddy never should have been here in the first place.
  22. Neither of you are really wrong. The issue is value of investment and the Panthers unwillingness to put all their chips in and acquire the face of their franchise. They only did so in 2011 begrudgingly but they were rewarded for it in a big way. As long as they're only willing to budget mode the most important position in the nfl odds are they will keep yielding the same results.
