It's over guys read the room. When it's all said and done I get the feeling it's going to come out that the Texans knew about this and sat on it. Whether or not they have anything to do with the timing of this finally becoming public remains to be seen but it's quite suspicious with everything that has already happened in a month or so.

There are many things which give someone pause on the internet these days. But this comparison is plain barbaric. There is a kid in the hospital with a brain injury because of the actions of Reid. Using that tragedy as a shield to continue your weeks long agenda toward an athlete is just awful. You can do better than this take some time away if you are that consumed.

They lost two starting tackles to injuries right? So what you are saying is don't get injured? They were still in the big game and 4 quarters away from back to back championships. Mahomes was still in the thick of the mvp talk. As much as their line got beat to hell the whole team looked to be in a funk and when you add in the refs and how well the Bucs were playing the end result we witnessed is what you get. There is no need to hide behind the failures of some of the best players in the league to convince ourselves of why we should keep sitting on the sidelines.

Not necessarily arguing in favor of Watson here but just speaking from a standpoint of knowing what it is like to see a team struggle without a quarterback. But I would take another several years of actual franchise quarterback level football over two yard passes on fourth and long. You can have all your draft picks and the surrounding talent taken there within but none of it matters without the centerpiece. If we don't have a quarterback either way talent is being squandered and subsequently the draft picks used to acquire said talent. We should know this story by now as Panthers fans. Just because we have been mismanaged in the past specifically with the development of our offensive line which has been mostly crap for years since the exit of Jordan Gross doesn't mean we should stop trying or be scared to take a risk if need be.

The Carolina Panthers have been doing things mostly the same way for the entirety that the franchise has existed. Few risks yet no back to back winning seasons and certainly no super bowl trophy tucked away anywhere. If you are apprehensive that is understandable but inevitably the franchise was going to make an all-in move for a signal caller if it is this way or in the draft.

Step away from the ledge and give up the meth it's bad for you.

If it is a question of Chinn or Watson the answer should be obvious though I am not thrilled about it. Hard pass on Burns or Brown though.

Not on board if we have to give up Burns Brown or Chinn. Clearly you need a quarterback to get to the dance but you need a stout defensive line and an opportunistic secondary if you want to win as the most recent super bowl has shown. Well I suppose a few refs in your back pocket too. -
Deshaun Watson has lawsuit filed against him by Tony Buzbee

I don't think the huddle needs a morality lesson from the guy who makes crass and grotesquely insensitive jokes about Kobe's helicopter crash for shits and giggles. -
Can't really compare the two straight up too many different moving parts between the different sports. But as far as bringing energy to the city? They are neck and neck and I would have to give the nod to Ball if he can keep elevating the roster around him just considering how desperate the Carolinas are for any legitimate contender after how the story ended with #1. Be grateful we stumbled into another talent of that caliber so quickly. Doesn't happen often that way for most small markets.

3100 yards with Kyle Allen Will Grier Teddy Bridgewater and PJ Walker throwing to him. Yes clearly he must be the problem let's get rid of him while we still can.

Stick with the facts and reality and let it ride. Isn't our money and obviously not our choice. But the facts and reality are that Seattle has had a dogshit offensive line for some time now and even their quarterback wants out. It's still super early so the staff will largely receive the benefit of the doubt but you can't bury your head in the sand either just stay grounded and see how it goes this isn't that difficult we're just fans.

Patriot fans seem excited that Cams back

So the Carolina Panthers paid 60 million for a backup quarterback barely a hair better than an aging broken Cameron Newton and there are actual human beings here who want to see more of that? You should get out of the house more. -

New England fans not hateful? First and only time I encountered someone that referred to Newton by a racial slur was a patriots fan. -

It is nice to see him still playing in the league we need more athletes like him for newer generations to learn from. But that arm is not the same and there is no point pretending just soak in the joy of however much time he has left because he makes the nfl more fun and it will be a sad day when he finally hangs it up. -
ohhhhhhh boy. sounds like watson is getting traded. per jim trotter

Few would have thought Tampa Bay was a quarterback away just a couple years ago. If it's Watson or someone we draft it all hinges on who we add along the lines. The league is changing before our eyes we just have to begin investing in the right positions. Doubling down on running back and linebacker only a year after major investments isn't part of that formula though. -

I am nervous about what we would have to give up to make this happen but if we can pull it off it will be worth it only if we can protect him. As an aside what is with the gatekeeping of this conversation? What else is there for Panthers fans to discuss? -
It seems you are applying personal ill intent or feelings where there are none. You are what your record says. That isn't always fair but it's sports. I'm guessing you are evidently a big fan of his. That's cool I am also. Sadly the position of running back has been trending in the direction of more and more devalued. Just look at past super bowl teams the last decade. Coincidentally you could make the same argument for linebackers with more emphasis on the defensive like and defensive backfield now. That truth saddens me also but what can we do about it now? We have to be smarter and build the roster more strategically as others have noted. If someone chooses to lie to themselves about this to cope I guess I understand that but opinions vary as they say. To each his own my friend.

Watson will get blame because he is or technically was the face of the franchise there. It doesn't make much sense to compare a quarterback to a running back or a linebacker. Either way with new contracts there will always be certain expectations and questions when the season is lost. We are not going to agree on this apparently. That's ok.
-
What part of 5 wins and a 1-5 record within the division isn't underwhelming after shelling out over 100 million dollars for two contracts? It doesn't get any prettier when you factor in the Bridgewater signing. If you are liking what you're seeing that's your prerogative but not everyone has to view this through Panthers shades.
-
I will skip watching if we commit to another year of limp dick checkdowns. You cannot say you are against tanking in one breath while arguing in favor of directly detrimental play from behind center that is wasting prime years of our young core on rookie contracts. Not to mention if we are waving the white flag like that why put another weight around our necks with the recent restructuring of contracts we just handed out? You cannot be taken seriously if you defend this after years of whining about the franchise nuking their salary cap.
-
Kicking the can down the road on two players who underwhelmed the same year they signed a lucrative extension. Seen this story before as a Panthers fan. Doesn't usually end well but I will withhold judgment depending on what ultimately happens with the quarterback position.

Would rather just bite the bullet and roll the dice with the draft than throw darts at the wall hoping a teams sloppy seconds will magically look good with us. Especially guys like Darnold or Trubisky.

The Bridgewater debacle has made some understandably apprehensive. However saying he is Teddy or worse than Teddy is extreme and lazy. The truth is even with Bridgewater's struggles the issue was more often than not being overly timid and honestly just overall lacking killer instinct more often than not. He regularly got the offense down the field but the above mentioned led to numerous stagnated drives and redzone failures. We did not lack the offensive weaponry and our offensive line did give him opportunities. I would not be relatively thrilled with Jones but we backed ourselves out of the top 3 so we are where we are now desperate and sorting through quarterback prospects with possible deficiencies. None in our draft slot range are homeruns unless we are willing to risk the farm for a trade up. Sucks but them's the breaks.
