  1. Always figured such was the case based on what Tepper gave up to lure him to Carolina. So are we still entertaining the notion that Rhule wasn't running the show when Marty Hurney was still here last year?
  2. Based on his almost conflicting thoughts there you could argue he is either on the fence or not wanting to give away what they're thinking just yet. Guessing a little bit of both. What he says about Moton being valuable where he is and the best rushers coming from the right is pretty important in this context though.
  3. The Panthers been slowly nudging him on this for weeks now but we have heard very little other than vague remarks so this is a start but hardly settled and right tackle is also a question. Anyone declaring victory this early hasn't watched the team much the last few years.
  4. So he is officially our left tackle? It's a yes or no question. Apparently you have made it your mission to live on here and try to run off anyone who isn't wholly embracing your echo chamber mentality but if you want a thriving community folks like you are going to limit the huddle to a handful of homers just shouting at each other. If a community with no critics is good for you by all means carry on with your routine Scot.
  5. Seeing is believing. Come get me when it's official like a referee whistle. Until then it just sounds like he is willing to fill in if needed. Some of you take it way too personally if everyone isn't in lockstep with the company line of our front office. You aren't getting paid to be the most loyal fan. Enjoy your weekend fellas.
  6. If you want Sam to elevate his game and not revert to old habits out of the gate you should be just a tad concerned about left tackle. With each day that passes it looks more clear Moton isn't keen on making the switch and I can't honestly blame him.
  7. He's gone it might be time to start looking for the next fall guy because odds are this "versatile" oline could be swiss cheese by the fall.
  8. Two of those teams have a Lombardi trophy within the last decade to ease their pain at least. Carolina has one of the worst with nothing to show for it. Keep the dream alive though
  9. So is this the Teddy appreciation thread? I'm sure Denver has plenty of room left on the bandwagon if some of you want to take the plunge.
  10. There are really folks out there who believe a newly hired 60 million dollar head coach and the owner who hired him that keeps a huge set of brass testicles on his desk just let a former radio host and currently twice terminated general manager take the reigns without a say. This is entertaining.
  11. Two yards and a cloud of dust was rubber stamped by the current decision makers here but pile on while we hope the Jets leftovers will bring us a division crown
  12. All you have to do is read up on what was said last summer by both Rhule who brought in Joe Brady specifically for his familiarity with the Saints offense and what Joe Brady himself said about Teddy to see through this mirage that Marty Hurney simply went rogue. I mean it's laughable. https://247sports.com/Article/Carolina-Panthers-2020-NFL-season-Matt-Rhule-Joe-Brady-LSU-Teddy-Bridgewater-148955264/ https://www.panthers.com/news/teddy-bridgewater-joe-brady-carolina-offseason-program https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/news/joe-bradys-immense-confidence-relationship-with-teddy-bridgewater
  13. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/panthers-matt-rhule-excited-to-move-forward-with-teddy-bridgewater-hes-exactly-what-we-want/ "According to Rhule, Bridgewater is not a placeholder or a bridge for someone like Will Grier or another future draft pick -- he's exactly what they were looking for."
  14. This is just silly. Matt Rhule has maybe a handful of consistent critics here at any given moment usually. It's not even in the same ballpark as the nuclear fallout the mention of Rivera's name brought here on a regular basis. Most by an overwhelming margin want to see what he can do this season. If it is more of the same there will be questions like any other sport or any other coach. I do not expect that to be the case though. He hasn't looked haggard in front of the media lately because he is taking any of this lightly.
  15. They're champions. The Bucs are champs. Even the Falcons almost won it all before us. If there is an odd obsession anyone has in this fanbase of a team without back to back winning seasons it's getting back to the big game and bringing a title to the Carolinas. If inconvenient truths hit you in the feels it's because you hate to admit it. The Saints and Bucs are the teams to beat if we want to return to league relevancy and contention. Is sitting around singing our own praises and ignoring faults going to get us anywhere in the short or long term? If you find solace in the best current teams in our division being awful half a century ago I guess slow clap for you. Some of us want more.
  16. How did the Panthers look with Teddy chumming it up with his old pals on the sideline while we were getting trounced late in the game? You can drink all the koolaid you want but this mgmt has a lot to prove in '21 and it begins with a revenge tour.
  17. You thought we traded for Teddy and now you want to pull fan cards? You're a trip.
  18. You think me acknowledging that makes me happy? I'm not carrying water for anyone until they show us they will show up and punch that zoolander fool in the mouth. You just can't handle anything but unanimous praise. Sorry that isn't how life works.
  19. Sean Payton made a fool out of the lot of them and the franchise no matter who you want to take the fall individually
  20. Whatever they decide to go with I'll hope for the best but they need to figure out the lineup and stick with it this isn't college. It's going to take several games to see what potential we have in this group.
  21. Rhule and Brady both had the biggest hand in Teddy landing here. If you have seen this franchise operate enough over the years the biggest indicator that it was Rhule in the drivers seat is the messy handling of the public feud with Newton followed right up with throwing Teddy under several buses. Sure he brought it on himself but we tanked his value in public. Marty Hurney was well known over the years to be loyal and accommodating to his players to a fault. Marty wasn't in charge he was riding in the backseat and halfway out the door.
  22. Yes I was referring to the attempt to move into the first for Little. Some here will try to convince you that Tepper left Hurney in charge of all the decision making after firing Ron and paying a new head coach 60 million but I don't see it. I think they gave him a chance to see how his input would mesh with Rhule but ultimately it was Matt pulling the lever. When Bridgewater was shown to be a disaster of an acquisition they had the perfect scapegoat and off Hurney went.
  23. Now the argument is Tepper/Rhule/Brady brought in Bridgewater for 1 season for 30+ million dollars knowing he wasn't good enough? And that's supposed to make the decision makers look better?
