With 20 people you would think they could make the content less underwhelming. The only narrative they should be concerned with is not being garbage in the nfc south.

I saw some of your Teddy posts it's okay man we all make mistakes. True perspective can only be discovered through struggle. Carolina has been through it in just 12+ months. There were big lessons to be learned from the failure of Cam Newton and Teddy B. You can't place the world on one guys shoulders but you also can't shower someone with praise and expect them to get better either. If it is a question they can't take it to that next level letting go has to be under consideration. Winning is all that matters as has been said time and time again.

Charles Johnson on cutting Ibe. Has a point!

Can't say he is wrong. This is a young team still searching for an identity and trying to establish a new culture. That is formed via leadership and there are layers to stuff like this. Need someone to help this team find that next gear for this upcoming season to turn those close losses into more wins. I am very relieved Kirkwood is okay though. -
Boy folks really went all in on that signing. If you didn't fall in line it was off with your head. Twas a dreadful season to make it through but looking back to see just how wrong the loudest were about it was a gift.

Quote the posts where I have said he sucks he should be cut he will never be good or that I don't want him. Not overlooking mistakes or flaws is not the same as being unsupportive. With this logic would you argue that for the better part of ten years a substantial portion of the Panthers fanbase was not supportive of Cam Newton?

Dave truly is the Teflon Don to have lasted through the unmitigated disaster that has been the NY Giants the last couple of years.

There's a reason even he wasn't expecting Carolina to offer what they did.

Typically every quarterback shoulders the burden if the offense fails that's the way it goes. Doesn't matter who thinks it's fair. Best of luck Sam!

He was the fan club president.

Funny the guy who had a Kyle Allen avatar for months would be this sensitive over the slightest Sam Darnold criticism

Just how often do you suppose we will win if our qb throws multiple pick sixes though? Favre threw a ton of picks overall. 336 total and only less than 13 in a season once and as many as 29 in a single season. He had a lengthy career but that was a different time. Sam will need that resiliency in our division but we gotta keep him upright. We'll see.

Do want Markkanen.

Oh absolutely the secondary is more of a challenge now which is a good thing. With Teddy he was efficient but early on some people were pointing out his penchant for short throws and wobbly long passes. Okung was a different guy for sure but he was serviceable he just didn't stay on the field long enough. The bitchiness factor is largely to do with how things ended last season. There were fans who rode the Teddy train all the way off a cliff because they didn't want to acknowledge his faults until the bitter end and some never did. Darnold is younger has better tools and has higher upside than Teddy so the bar should be higher to say the least.

Do that many current teams even have designed run plays for quarterbacks anymore beyond the goal line or 3rd and 4th down situations? Mobile quarterbacks are still going to be very much a part of the future of the league but running qb's like Cam with a substantial number of designed runs are likely to become less common. In any event there is a balance to be had. The Panthers did not find that balance and they failed to build with surrounding talent. Thus the results we ended up with.

I've given Rhule a mulligan on the Teddy signing because he was not a failure in the sense that he was a terrible quarterback he just didn't have the killer instinct to finish games and he couldn't handle criticism. That being said his limitations that held us back were on game tape and should have been clearer to Joe and Matt if they were truly that familiar with him. I can only take them at their words and they had plenty to say about him last spring. Now they are all on the clock with Sam. It is an uphill battle given expectations are for him to make a rather miraculous turnaround in one offseason. That may not be fair but that's how sports go and how fans think. The best thing Rhule and Co have going for them right now are the additions at other positions they have made in a short time. But like any other team or staff the pesky quarterback conundrum can and will sink even the nicest ship.

I believe this is my first camp thread remarking on his passes. But also it was specifically about a pick six though. That detail will garner a little more attention. Look we all know Sam has the arm and the ability it boils down to that next step. We want him to take it but this is the stuff he has to get out of his system now.

#1 threw high passes and turnovers in camp and there was plenty of discussion about it no different than now. Idk why the kid gloves all the sudden but I guess memories get a little fuzzy.
-
Our last franchise qb was scrutinized on everything from his throws to how he sat on the bench to how he celebrated. Scrutiny comes with the position chief
-
He's a fourth year qb with a history of iffy turnovers. Not judging off one practice just looking to see consistency built up. The weapons are there he just has to make the right throw and the right decision. That's been the question all along. As someone used to say it is what it is.
-
Yikes. First career pass was a pick six and he threw two in the same game last year. Now is the time to get it figured out.

The Panthers can implement whatever media policies they want but it seems like it would be a good idea to increase fan engagement not make things less fun. Especially if they want to avoid the Panthers home turf being overrun with fans of other teams like previous years. These posters roaming the boards looking to jump on anyone who says a negative word are hilarious. Seven winning seasons in 25 years and they act like this is a dynasty above any and all reproach
