  1. Yeah watching that clip is definitive confirmation on his unwillingness to pull the trigger in certain scenarios and that's all over the tape from last year. This Jets joint practice is going to tell us plenty. Whether or not he actually plays in preseason I think the odds are low. Canales has been spooked by the injuries. It's an obvious and convenient way to delay the inevitable.
  2. Basically what I'm seeing around the league so far in preseason is we have the worst QB room by far by choice. Several Baby Goat clones moving the ball with relative ease while we fill our QB room with WalMart greeters because we wouldn't want to have any competition or hurt feelings.

  4. If you come across it I'd like to revisit that. The thing with Mingo is he has been an enigma of hot/ice cold. Even I recognize some of those instances may not be on just Bryce. There have been plays where Mingo just doesn't have his head in it. But glaring ones like that I linked are an example that better coaching fundamentals and scheme alone cannot overcome a lack of consistent physicality from your QB. The way that we have to microanalayze and berate other over air yards and stretch the limits of the term "deep pass" to validate the arm talent of our first overall pick speaks volumes in and of itself.
  5. How about this one? How many rookie QB's from this year's draft class do you think make this a completion 9 times out of 10? https://www.nfl.com/videos/bryce-young-misses-golden-opportunity-for-45-yard-td-pass-to-mingo
  6. It does not take several years to establish an offense that can at least move the ball even halfway effectively lmao. Please stop thinking like Matt Rhule. The 7 years thing is long gone. Also the Commanders arguably had a worse OL than we did last year. And their head coach was Ron Rivera. It's okay to have expectations folks.
  7. JD already in the end zone his first drive. Even the lowly Commanders seem to have no trouble moving the ball and scoring. If BY and the offense can't move the ball against the Jets they deserve the criticism and then some.
  8. Dolphins held out 40 players and still put up 20 points. You can question the QB situation there but you can't deny the staff knows how to move the ball and get on the scoreboard. It's the complete opposite with us until proven otherwise. Thursday night was only validation of such.
  9. It's good that the rest of the league is seeing this. Everyone can get a good look at how not to run a football team. The Panthers had the worst starting QB in the league last season by a wide enough margin to fit a big rig through and our biggest concern was making said QB as comfortable as possible instead of doing what's best for the team.
  10. Sad as it is to say they are still doing a better job of addressing their QB situation in the short term than the Panthers have at any point in the last 4 years. They aren't trading away assets for bums like Sam Darnold or trading hauls to move up to #1.
  11. I will say Zavala for all the ire he's gotten when he was a rookie could end up being a good lineman for us. What I saw of him in the draft interviews indicated a hard worker and a smart kid.
  12. Milton is only a subject at all here because our first overall pick has had red flags about his deep ball or lack thereof going back to Alabama. Mac Jones who wasn't even activated last night had a better deep ball in college. The defensiveness is unnecessary. The facts are what they are until proven otherwise.
  13. That would be ridiculous. No chance of it. I mean the entire org from top to bottom would have to be an absolute PR disaster for it to be in consideration. Canales should and will get 2 years minimum. You also need to let him draft and try to develop his own QB. Which by the way is what we should have been doing from jump street back in 2020. It is so frustrating the path we have gone down these last several years.
  14. I'm happy to hear that. Maybe the timing of this ringing endorsement after 30 something starters were being paid to stand on the sidelines and watch the rest of the team suck total ass for 4 quarters isn't ideal though. Wins and losses are all that matter. Players talking him up helps his case because obviously it's good that people like you. On the flip side players loved Marty Hurney too. Wins and losses...
  15. Relax we're all dealing with rooting for this team in our own way. And just a heads up maybe don't try to go out of your way to dictate to complete strangers on the internet on how to discuss their team and then tell someone else they need help. If you don't like what you're reading close your app.
  16. So were we planning on skipping a live camera presser all along or? Optics wise it looks really weak when the staff made the decision that set this fiasco in motion. It gives the appearance the head coach is already on the run from his decisions. Not good no matter how you could want to spin it. Can't expect accountability from your roster and then operate like this.
  17. Glad everyone is okay. That's a very random event after such an ugly start to the preseason. Although it did rain here a ton over the last 24 hours. Could this be a sign? Either the team goes from here with a new mission or they fold from the jump. Hopefully the former.
  18. Oh stop it. The staff would have had at least 3 full quarters to evaluate our backups after pulling the starters like almost every other team has or will be doing in their first week of preseason. We were scared plain and simple. Whether it be about injuries or the fact the staff doesn't think they're ready it doesn't even matter. This is not how you change the culture of a completely rudderless franchise. Guys laughing on the sidelines after dropping passes while we are once again a punchline to the rest of the league. That's more of the same.
  19. Please end that meme once and for all. "We need some dawgs!" *3 total points in the final seconds against a shitty post Brady/Belichick Patriots team*
  20. You can evaluate Bryce Young and keep him as the starter while also developing a possible fallback plan if needed. Walking and chewing gum at the same time. Nobody believes in Andy Dalton. Nobody needs Andy Dalton. He's a nice guy here collecting free money while we fart around. I'm not advocating for Milton. I'm simply saying anything would have been better than whispering sweet nothings in Bryce's ear and telling him how special he is while signing the worst UDFA QB available. Criticism ≠ meltdown. I'm not saying Canales isn't the guy or he's going to be fired. I don't have a crystal ball. But I do have over 2 decades of experience watching this franchise attempt to football and what I'm seeing so far is more of the same of the last several years of offensive disaster. Could it change? Sure. Do I hope it does? Absofuginlutely. Would I bet money on it? Nope. All I know is in about a month we open the season with our arch rival the Saints on the road in New Orleans and we better get our act together in a hurry if we don't want to be subjected to further embarrassment.
  21. I watched a few quarters of that feed and gave up. Absolute trash. Salute to you for somehow enduring the full game with it.
