  1. Unless someone is cut and falls into our lap or someone in camp emerges this seems like the most likely scenario. Either way TM is going to be swimming in cash.
  2. Opinions vary but numbers don't lie. The Carolina offense needs versatility folks. We didn't draft Chuba Hubbard to look pretty on the sideline.
  3. https://fantasyfootballers.org/2019-rb-running-back-nfl-stats/ You'll have to scroll over to the right and double tap touches. 2019: CMC - 403/Kamara - 252 2018 CMC -326/Kamara - 275 2017 CMC - 197/Kamara - 201 Last year Kamara had 270. CMC was sitting at 76 in 3 games alone. So that's about 25 touches per game and taking that average McCaffrey would have soared to 400 at current pace if he played the full season which would have been most in the nfl passing Derrick Henry at 397.
  4. Those two do share similarities but how they are used is quite different. The Saints are not running him into the ground or trying to shoehorn him in as their whole offense. New Orleans has a very versatile offense. The proof is in the pudding. Look at their respective snap counts.
  5. Nobody said loser that's your word. Why are you so angry about this? That's called being emotional. Yes we know he is our best offensive weapon so it shouldn't be asking too much to take a step and bring us a winning season this year or at least better than worst or second worst in the nfc south yet again. How are we barely better than the Falcons? Cmon. He's the guy as the face of the team and he has the keys to the franchise. Gotta stay healthy though.
  6. Agreed he is a weapon and is very good. But the problem begins with what you just mentioned. Building the o line. Who is to say that is going to happen within this timespan where we have a studly defense and these offensive weapons and all in their prime while being affordable? Those rookie contracts will expire. We should have been assembling a line of maulers three years ago minimum. Yet just the year before we used an entire draft on defense. Can we justify it? For sure. But will it make us feel better if the '21 season is ultimately a failure? One way or another by next year we have got to clamp down and build this damn line and make some draft investments early.
  7. Strolling down memory lane I forgot how good Shaun Alexander was and how much I despised the Seahawks even then. He didn't get them a title though even as an mvp
  8. Super Bowl winners the last several years largely dispel this notion. Quarterback is the rare weapon that can't be replaced. How far do we have to go back to find a star face of the franchise running back that helped carry his team to a title? Marshawn Lynch with the Seahawks? That was eight years ago and you'll have to go back even further to Bettis in 2005 to find another. More over those teams invested in the trenches and built stout o lines. But those days are moving further and further away because of rules benefiting passing games now.
  9. Who is saying he is a problem? From the sound of it you have too much emotion tied up in one player. As you say it is a team game. So when you invest a top 10 draft pick and a significant chunk of your salary cap in what has become a luxury position as much as we hate to admit eventually other areas of our roster suffer this is basics of team building. Young talented wide receivers and pass rushers are highly coveted in the league currently I dont think the comparison you are grasping for is helping your argument. And Chinn was in the running for defensive rookie of the year. That was an impressive season but I would wager CMC would have rather had lesser numbers and a winning record. It is not rude or an attack on McCaffrey or anyone else to suggest we should play better in our division and start chipping away at this hole we have dug ourselves.
  10. How many wins did the Carolina Panthers have in his 1k/1k season when he had an ungodly number of touches? Losses are losses my friend there are no silver linings. The Panthers must do better in the division and we must invest in this offensive line to accomplish that.
  11. You mean the season our starting qb had 754 rushing yards and 6 rushing tds? Sadly that isn't ever going to happen again so this o line will have to be up to the task.
  12. It's going to be exciting to see this defense go to work. But they might be on the field as much as they were last year again by the looks of the current o line. Le sigh.
  13. This is true for sports but one winning season out of four is what it is. 2021 is a make or break year in many ways and not just for the highest paid players guys on lower end contracts looking to move up have just as much at stake too.
  14. Yeah it isn't like Carolina hasn't seen this story before. The Panthers tied up over 70 million dollars in two running backs 10 years ago and fans never let us forget about it in the years that followed. But handing 64 million to one running back now is just different
  15. The die has been cast all we can do now is hope we prosper and Fields is a bust. But if he isn't and he lights it up that question will loom largely for the next few years. That's the nature of sports.
  16. Gross wasn't some hall of fame left tackle but he was solid for sure. Take off those blinders for a brief time and realize even someone like Gross would be taking home a brinks truck in his prime in today's nfl. And Burns isn't going anywhere with or without Moton.
  17. So after weeks of takes expecting big passing numbers for Sam Darnold this year suddenly some folks think we can let our best tackle walk and everything will be gravy. This place is always good for a laugh.
  18. Can't argue with any of this. Seen this story play out enough times over the last several years. It's "Moton" btw.
  19. He'll get what the market dictates but the market is reset frequently. The floor for a top tackle is already pricey whether he stays on the right or makes a switch. Panthers fans might want to get this hometown discount vibe out of their heads.
  20. Panthers are past the point of blinking on working something out with Moton in a timely manner. They are now in a corner. He can all but name his own price.
  21. He was kind and complimented Marshall then offered words of support. But if you read this thread you would think he took a dump on the whole franchise. There are odd folks here.
  22. It isn't like Olsen called anyone out he was just open about the situation rather than giving a company line. Guys play for other teams it happens. It bothered me as much as seeing Thomas Davis in a Chargers jersey ie very little. Both players were clearly done anyway. Seeing Newton in a Patriots jersey doesn't bother me either. Plenty of well known Panthers who were involved in success with this franchise have worn other jerseys. Life goes on.
