  1. Interested to see how well this defense can contain Hurts. Starting Chuba in fantasy this week. Show out young man!
  2. Oh my goodness nobody said anything about him as a man it was in reference to fans being emotional about discussion around him as our quarterback. Like this one right here. I've been complimentary and very fair to Sam even with some key turnovers bc the other positives he has brought to the table have impressed me. I don't know which quarterback you are referring to about not taking responsibility or blaming others but the sulking and press conference comments are not helping your case here fella.
  3. That is not what was said. This is what I was referring to though. If fans can't even talk about things for him to work on without you all up in your feels it's just cringy. Like I said in another thread. Cam fan vibes.
  4. I'm here. Just finished watching the Fury Wilder fight. Ready for gameday. There's a concept that might be foreign to some. You can support the quarterback and want him to get better and be the guy for the future without trying to baby him and jump on ppl that might have a simple critique of things that can be worked on. I hope the offense balls out tomorrow. Let's get it.
  5. There are some folks here starting to give off Cam fan vibes with Sam Darnold and it's awkward.
  6. Are you going to speak to the manager too?
  7. Beyond the Wilson aspect of the discussion which is obv unlikely anyway Super Bowls and playoffs minimum are always the goal. The elite talent on this team is certainly not just happy to be here they want to win too. I don't know why the acknowledgement of that fact and key players like quarterback improving to position us toward that would be a problem. The players and coaches are saying the same things Sam included.
  8. Right. I figured everyone knows about the five rushing touchdowns which I am happy with obviously but the true development will be as a passer. Sam is learning to take what the defense is giving him which is great and his mobility is a very good asset for our offense. But I definitely want to see the offense and Sam build some success in the redzone with our receivers as well.
  9. The question for Sam is can he elevate those around him? So far this season as a passer Ryan Tannehill is 26th in completion % 21st in ypa 17th in passing yards and 19th in qbr. By comparison Darnold is 14th 10th 7th and 6th with a mess of an oline. Where both quarterbacks tumble down the list is passing touchdowns with both sitting at 18th. If Sam and Joe can get this deep passing game going who knows what his ceiling is but that has to happen to take the next step.
  10. Depends on the potential cost. If said cost comes at the expense of us upgrading the oline via the draft would he even want to play here and how much better would we actually be? Next offseason will be wild I think. But if things don't play out the way we have expected we know Matt Rhule and Scott Fitterer will pursue options. I would rather Sam take the next step given he will only he 25 next year but it's still very early.
  11. The Eagles are better than they look but this is just one game. The bigger picture is if we want to be a playoff team we need to own our home turf. In the past few years it has not been pretty. Turning that around beginning now will go a long way.
  12. The Patriots jersey thing was pretty bad but at the end of the day these are sports teams we are only affiliated with through purchases and that was years ago. You can't stop someone from being a fan so you might as well let the past go. As for his wealth good for him but you can't take your house cars and fine cutlery with ya though so
  13. Wilson has been getting beaten up in SEA the last couple years and he turns 33 next season. Let the Saints trade a haul for him.
  14. Nice try. Disrespectful would be calling a group of fans assholes for wanting the oline to adequately protect our qb.
  15. Linebacker is getting thin. Christensen will take some lumps but I think he'll settle in. There's no way Deonte will still be inactive though right? If there was ever a week this has to be it.
  16. You really need to stop saying things like this people want to win. Come down off the cross already.
  17. Well remember it's not about how you start but how you finish. This group learned that firsthand after being up on the Cowboys in the first half. Sam's resiliency is what has impressed me most and he has shown he can quickly bounce back from mistakes so I expect he will make this happen so it's only a matter of when. I think most here have been quite fair overall to Darnold and that is why the oline has been such a point of debate people want to see him reach his potential while also acknowledging we need to make the most of opportunities.
  18. It's not the only way to determine franchise qb status but winning games late when you are down is a huge part of becoming that. The clutch gene. The last Carolina Panthers franchise quarterback had to check that box too. Both were top 3 draft picks. It comes with the territory.
  19. These fans that want to hold Sam's hand and treat him like a delicate dove are just weird. He can be better he has the tools. Saying so is not an attack on him.
  20. Only one week off knowing how things went last year with his injuries seems risky. I would be inclined to let him rest this week and return the next. It's never ideal to miss time but there are some stout opponents we will be facing in the back half of our schedule. Cardinals Bills the Bucs twice and the Saints in New Orleans. Some of those matchups may call for a heavy use of McCaffrey but it would be good to see this staff and offense win some along the way without having to run him into the ground.
  21. Playing well and doing just enough to not lose us games against inferior competition are two different things. In the weeks leading up to our loss we had issues sustaining drives because of our offensive line. Remember that second half against the Jets? The best week we had was against the Saints and that was largely due to an epic performance by our defense. We almost let the Texans come back on us because we again struggled to sustain drives and they got beat 40 to nothing by the Bills last weekend. We still haven't seen a quality game from our offensive line yet. I'm still hoping it happens.
  22. The same person who has been pounding the table about how our olinemen aren't as bad as they seem thinks Slater's quality play so far is a mirage. You cannot reason with that level of delusion.
  23. Based on what I've seen so far it appears Sam certainly has franchise quarterback capabilities in him. But whether it's him or Joe Brady they need to get together and figure out how to get this deep passing game going we have DJ Moore and Robby Anderson waiting. That's just a fact Jack.
  24. This is what happens when people who aren't used to discussing the Panthers are forced to acknowledge their existence. Hopefully we can sustain relevancy for awhile again.
