The other causes were not the final play. Sam had the ball in his hands with a good opportunity to win and he gave it to the other team and they ran out the clock. It sucks but those are the facts and no amount of spin or accusations of hate or other tomfoolery changes that

CMC trending the wrong direction? Not practicing today...

How do you mean? Because of the games he missed? That's the concern. He made it three games last year and then he had the rest of the season and an entire offseason to get right. But sadly three games we are back to square one. The writing is on the wall and looking at trends and history of the league this only ends one of two ways. Either we adapt and use him differently or he could be playing elsewhere in a few years. There's few fairy tale endings. -
Nobody said all. But taking care of the football is part of the job. It was no different for Bridgewater or Allen or Newton or Delhomme who had his fair share of interceptions.

He led the league in touches just two years ago and before the injuries last year he was on pace to repeat that. Three games in this season he was on pace to do the same. We can argue certain things but the numbers are there. -
How many teams in the nfl win when their qb turns the ball over three times including the final offensive play? Not many I'd say.

McCaffrey has had a ton of carries in the last two years. You also have to consider his college career too. He had 632 carries for nearly 4000 yards and 22 touchdowns and 99 receptions for 1206 yards and 10 touchdowns. In three seasons. He's got a lot of miles for a 25 year old running back. -

Not a setback... -
As a sixth rounder it was a longshot but all we had. I'm just disappointed in our approach to the oline overall. With the worst interior we have fielded in years we now have one lineman from this years draft. There will be more opportunities but for the time being Rhule and Fitt blew it.

Yeah we basically ran our expensive sports car like we were in a destruction derby and now we're like oh sh*t. Sounds familiar huh? -
This is reasonable we do not disagree. But shitting on Hubbard now is just foolishness. He was the main reason we even were able to sustain drives in the second half. He is not part of the problem though he does have things he can work on as a rookie. We're going to need him this weekend for sure and at this point quite a bit the rest of the way if things keep trending the way they are with McCaffrey.

This and the silence from the team makes me think he reaggravated the injury. The hamstring injuries can linger for some time. -
Chuba Hubbard had 134 yards but he's Ted Ginn? Everybody is a scapegoat to the Sam Darnold jock sniffers. Yet you talk about Jets fans. Hilarious.

Dalvin Cook is back just in time for our matchup? Oh lawd.

Robby should've caught that third down pass anyone with eyes knows it. But we still had chances 2 minutes and 3 timeouts. We had so much confidence in Sam we elected not to let him try for a fourth down at the end of the first half resulting in points for our opponent and later in the game we took the ball out of his hands until the Eagles finally got on the board again. Panthers fans just keep reliving the same mess and telling themselves it's different this time.

Jefferson will play. Even if he's limited we will have our hands full with him. I hope Chuba is ready to have a big day bc that's the only way we'll win with this offense if Sam is still doing his best Kyle Allen impression.

Loss to Eagles worst halftime lead squandered since Nov 2016

It's everybody else's fault but the qb. -
You mean we likely win despite our most important player turning the ball over 3 times. If he gets a pass in some degree for the turnovers then we have to look back at just how much credit he deserved for our stellar defense and CMC having a billion touches when we were 3-0. The loss of McCaffrey alone should not turn him right back into Jets Sam Darnold. He's a fourth year pro and still boom or bust. There are only six starting quarterbacks with a lower passer rating than Sam Darnold entering week 6. One is 39 year old Ben the others are Davis Mills Jacoby Brissett and three rookies from this years draft class.

We should have learned this lesson after what happened to Cam Newton but it may never sink in for some. One player can never be the whole team for very long. It may work for a little longer depending on the individual but it will always fall apart eventually. Some things don't change. -
Wailing for pages about the offensive coordinator but the second someone suggests the quarterback actually shares responsibility for giving the ball to the other team it's time to go on the attack. Sounds like a great recipe to keep this franchise stuck at only 7 winning seasons.

We lost last week because our quarterback threw multiple passes to defenders right in the numbers. Not Joe Brady. Not Matt Rhule. Not Scott Fitterer. Not Robby Anderson. Not Adam Gase. Sam Darnold.

In my opinion Teddy B is doing better in Denver bc they have pieces that fit his skillset better. Actually one of the bright spots from Teddy's time here was his mobility. He was quite good. Of course he had some gaffes like fumbling just as Sam has but he made the oline look decent. It was the short passes that we were not going to win with against better teams though. The lack of any semblance of a deep pass from our offense isn't helping matters with Sam getting beaten up. These teams watch film and they know we aren't connecting on those so they really aren't at all scared and with talent like Moore and Anderson back there that's a shame. It all goes back to Rhule and Fitterers gamble with the oline the buck stops with them. It was never going to improve overnight but it could have been more manageable.

Blah blah blah it isn't the sbblue huddle it's the carolinahuddle get over yourself snowflake.

I hope it isn't the case I really do. Sam has taken a beating from the media and fans this week I have no ill will toward him and I like him on a personal level. You know him better than some others from his NY days. But looking back at the offseason and our training camp one thought is common for me. We should have made an effort to have actual competition at quarterback instead of handing Sam the keys without having earned anything yet. There were other quarterbacks we could have brought in Minshew for example. Competition is good. Still I hope Sam can be the guy. That poster above you is not being rational. They have barbs and high standards for a coach but not the most important player on our team who has the ball in his hands when the chips are down. That's not consistency. That's not going to win us games. We need to raise the bar for everyone. The qb must play better receivers must do their jobs and the coaches must put them all in better positions to succeed. It's quite simple.
