  1. Which is more likely. Two 1k yard receivers from last season suddenly forgot how to football or the bust qb who has struggled throughout his nfl career is still struggling and in turn hindering the passing offense? 47 rushing attempts including 8 from the qb tells you what you need to know.
  2. People are looking for who to blame in this instance when they should be focused on the why. The Falcons made it a point to dole out some punishment. They watch film and our upcoming opponents will be seeing the same things. Regardless of how you feel about these so called hospital balls if we continue to make throws like this there will be defenders who have seen these plays on film lurking. Coincidentally the Cons did the same thing to Sam in the run game. Remember that Sam Newton thread? Well Atlanta sure did. All of this stuff is on game tape. You can be sure our next opponent the Patriots will be very much aware of this stuff.
  3. Derrick Henry may be out for the season now. Investing big in rbs is looking more and more dicey in the nfl these days.
  4. PJ ain't it but these folks who are throwing themselves in front of all Darnold criticism turning around and trashing Walker for fun aren't being consistent. One guy is a qb we signed off the street for peanuts the other we gave up 3 picks for and picked up his 18 million dollar option. That 2nd guy had zero touchdowns yesterday. How many games left on this schedule do ya'll really see us leaving with a win when our qb has a goose egg in the touchdown column?
  5. It's a breath of fresh air for the moment but I am reminded of our assumptions on the oline after weeks 1 and 2 compared to weeks 4 through 7 when we all realized what reality was. I need to see a few more games like this minimum before I have confidence in this. We only get to play the Falcons once more this season.
  6. Mahomes has 18 passing touchdowns on the season. Our offense couldn't muster one of those against a bottom defense in the Falcons. Look this whole optimism vs pessimism thing overtaking the Panthers fanbase isn't anything new sports can be a rough ride and Sam is by no means the first Panthers qb to get criticism. Delhomme is one of two long term starting qb's in our 26 year history and he got a ton of grief. But this stuff with comparing Sam to Mahomes will get you laughed right off other teams forums. We won because we ran the ball a ton and even then it was still close. There is much room for improvement and if we want a chance at either the Cards or Bills we will need a better passing offense it isn't being negative to say so it's realism.
  7. The Saints have a better record than us and they just knocked off the Bucs with Trevor Siemian while we had to dig deep to put away Matty Melt. Maybe if we had put a better effort into the backup qb position there would be more hope but we've got what we've got.
  8. Nope. I'll follow and root for my local teams how I choose and call it like I see it win or lose. If you don't like it tough poo.
  9. First win in over a month and some people are acting like this franchise is a perennial championship contender lol. Defeating the Falcons was the bare minimum expectation this season especially after the Giants loss last week. Enjoy the win but prepare for what's around the corner against tougher competition where we can't get away with only scoring 19 points.
  10. Great team basketball tonight. Oubre was an excellent addition and fits in perfectly. This could be a very special group.
  11. The Panthers running backs had a total of 39 rushing attempts and Sam added in 8 more himself. It's pretty clear the gameplan was to limit Sam's passing attempts and in turn those costly turnovers. What is there to dispute?
  12. Your whole shtick here is policing other fans opinions that aren't positive enough to your liking. Are you drunk?
  13. Credit to Zane for some big time kicks. I'm surprised @TN05 isn't all over this.
  14. Don't expect Rhule and Fitterer to admit they were wrong I would be shocked if anything like this happened.
  15. For Sam and any other player who went to a school you have a personal connection to. Meanwhile you identify our only MVP in franchise history as a sulking petulant little girl because he hated losing. Spare us the moral stand.
  16. Some guy named Mike White just threw for 400 yards and 3 touchdowns for the Jets and defeated the Bengals. It's a damn shame the best we could come up with was PJ Walker. No free passes for Fitterer or Rhule.
  17. Well there are some hard truths to that game. Yes Sam played with heart and guts but he was getting the running opportunities because of his glaring passing deficiencies. It looked pretty clear to me Joe Brady's gameplan was to limit Sam's mistakes as much as possible. The short throws to Adbdullah who is an asset were very reminiscent of the CMC plays from our 3-0 stretch. But when we asked Sam for more downfield you saw what the answer was. This was against a Falcons team that had been giving up 30 ppg on defense. Sam is what he is at this point and a close win against a bad Falcons team who is right there with us in the cellar of the division doesn't change that.
  18. Well so is PJ but now we're stuck with him. May as well run some wildcat next week.
  19. Should have been a penalty. Same with the hit on Robby Anderson. But now we're set with PJ Walker so what's done is done.
  20. Rhule and Fitterer should have put forth a better effort in the qb room than PJ Walker. On that we should all be able to agree.
  21. I'm happy with his effort and he bounced back well enough but Joe Brady has to understand he does not have Cam Newton. Do not put your qb in jeopardy when you have a run game going like we did with Chuba and Abdullah.
  22. Fug that defeating the Falcons in Atlanta always feels good.
