Alright now I'm calling shenanigans. If you're firing off shots like this at him don't pull punches for others like Darnold who is guaranteed almost 20 million even if he doesn't start.

Too much hero ball in OT hate it when they force bad shots. It was fun while it lasted though. Kudos to them for staying in it under the circumstances.

Getting hosed on some of these calls tonight.

It's been a combination for sure he had his center in his lap many times and Robby Anderson fell off several cliffs. Even DJ has had bad drops. We already know about Brady. But he also cost us games with poor decisions which has always been his bugaboo since college. He ended one game with a pick and started the next with one. Who does that? So we got exactly what we should have expected if we had truly done our homework on him. All of those turnovers were on film with the Jets. We got played.

I'm on the fence with Fitterer but I don't understand wanting to pick more staff from that org. They've been almost as irrelevant as the Panthers the last few years and they have Russell Wilson ready to skip town.

Sam has never built consistency as a starter in this league unless you count just being terrible. Whatever happens with Cam has very little to do with Sam's future. Few people expected Cam to step back in and become an elite quarterback. He's 32 years old and on borrowed time same as Darnold or Walker. These "durrr you didn't give Darnold the benefit of the doubt!" arguments are stupid and easy to see through.

Teddy had a pretty good offense around him that season with the Saints. I will concede he is a decent starter but he wasn't the answer for us. I do agree that out of the two Heinicke has built more consistency than Minshew. And as you said we already had Taylor on our roster. Barring a total collapse which is of course possible in this league for the moment he does look like he has a bright future as a franchise quarterback. And with our former coordinator Scott Turner running the offense. None of that bodes well for our braintrust looking at the mess they have created in such short time.

Say what you want about Heinicke but he has his team winning games. Same with Minshew. The last time we won convincingly our opponent was without their star quarterback and receiver

Idk that account was created April 8th last year. The Teddy signing was official on March 25th. The timing does fit.

Panthers' passer rating when targeted leaders (Offense)
frankw replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Why are you saying max like this is the NBA? He's going to get paid big if we sign him but the way you word it makes it sound all ominous. I will acknowledge he needs to step up and make more big catches. But the question is how much of this Joe Brady led offense has affected DJ and those around him? Moore looked pretty damn good last year with Teddy throwing to him and that was being limited by the lack of a real deep ball from his QB. The same could be said for even Robby Anderson. We need to see both of them with a real NFL caliber OC and a stable quarterback situation and then we can go from there. Your last statement doesn't make any sense and would lead one to assume you harbor bias fyi. -
Sam Darnold PJ Walker and Will Grier. Panthers fans talking about jag qb's is hilarious.

Many people were skeptical of the Darnold trade. You're talking about haters and wanting to make this all about Cam because you have an ax to grind. I'm talking about wins and losses and investments that have hurt the team and could linger for another season or two and prolong this rebuild.

Still a hell of a lot better than any backup we've had in years

That's a simpleton view. People who are down on this regime are so bc we have mortgaged future draft picks and salary cap just to end up worse off than when we started two years ago. If you enjoy being awful and want to go back for seconds good for you I guess.

Just how many mistakes do you think a new coach should be afforded? Teddy was strike one. Darnold was a big strike two. Calling up Cam Newton mid-season after discarding him like nothing in your first season is a huge strike three. Welcome to the NFL.
