  1. When I say marginally better I am referring to can we compete in the playoffs with some of the best teams. Right now we are going to be lucky to get in and our window of opportunity within the conference is not getting easier. Think about a team like the Hawks who went as far as they did with an interim head coach last season. I don't think coaching is the only thing holding this team back by any means we know how bad the franchise has been. This is a young team we have a 20 year old who is one of our centerpieces. But if we didn't believe in him or Bouknight why did we draft them? Other teams are getting nice returns out of young players they've recently drafted. It's up to Borrego and Mitch to find the balance to get us on track. But first we must get past this baffling inconsistency and that is on both effort and coaching.
  2. One of the better offenses yeah but top team? That's koolaid talking. The last time we were in the playoffs we were blown off the court by the Pacers and we are on yet another skid. Steve Clifford couldn't compete in a weak Eastern conference and so far Borrego is marginally better in that regard. I love the team too but truth is truth.
  3. Borrego is 114-142. You're over there talking like this man is Gregg Popovich. More like another Steve Clifford tbh
  4. Bouknight is young and obviously still needs maturing but as the coach you gotta lead and you aren't going to do that by provoking your young talent in front of his teammates. I was skeptical of the Borrego extension at the time and this doesn't make me feel any better about it. Hornets gotta get this figured out or future stars like LaMelo will be playing elsewhere down the road.
  5. Yet we were still blown off the field by a Joe Judge led Giants team
  6. They got the win handed to them and there were still Cavs fans whining on social media. All those lottery picks the league has given them and those fools think they're owed something. Get the fug outta here.
  7. These discussions that pit one QB against another based on how much someone has fallen in love with one prospect get boring pretty quick. I'm no Mac Jones fan but just like Fields no one knows what he will look like in a few more seasons. Josh Allen had 20 touchdowns and 9 interceptions to pair with 58% completion in his first full season. It would have been good to have a promising QB on a rookie contract heading into the offseason but once again we had to go defense. Just like last year there are pros and cons to all the quarterbacks in this class. Determining boom or bust status this early is a waste of time. For me I find myself in the same spot as last year. LT or QB. I wish we had gotten half of that over with then and there but here we are having the same arguments all over again
  8. For someone who was once loving the Darnold trade and comparing him to hall of famers last spring you should probably chill calling others idiots.
  9. Well the Hornets certainly ended the first half in typical fashion.
  10. The Tomlin thing is disputed at best but was only one part of a larger pattern. We don't need walter football to know what's what. I would hope we can both agree that from the jump this should have been handled differently. We should have hired a new GM first and foremost and went from there. To hire a college coach with full control and then a GM to be his best bud was never a recipe for success.
  11. So what if he didn't? Does that erase the mess he has overseen here in just a few short years? You have gone out of your way to be an apologist for the status quo here but that's your right do your thing.
  12. Of course Tepper is meddlesome. He was on the phone with Christensen even before Rhule was. There are actually people who think Hurney chose Rhule lol. As frustrated as we have been with Rhule he didn't hire himself or give himself full control. You know damn well the Giants brass were laughing their asses when Rhule took our offer to them. We should have hired a consultant but the same man who wanted Mike Tomlin gone wanted to run the show. Now he's nowhere to be seen.
  13. Meh. If we take a QB I'll hope for the best whoever he is. I don't have much faith in this regime to develop a young quarterback. Even if it's Willis who I like. But the hype may be getting carried away here already. We should all adjust our expectations and not forget the circumstances.
  14. In the end we can only blame Rhule and Fitterer for thinking it was a slam dunk idea to rebuild our offense around three players even the Jets didn't want.
  15. He has all the physical tools. But it's the same awful turnovers going back to USC. And for a guy who was a third overall pick and on a new team that gave up three picks and guaranteed him 19 million dollars out of the gate I knew all I needed to about his future with the team after his nonchalant reaction after this play.
  16. Our 20 year old rookie drops a career high 38 points and the team around him still finds a way to lose. We've been attached to some of these players and we all love them but if someone needs to be moved so we can get a real C I guess it's time to get it done.
  17. Eh questions swirled around Herbert too. It is revisionist history to suggest that he was a slam dunk consensus top QB. Even fans here talked junk about him for months.
  18. Just because you are keen to blindly devour whatever the team is selling does not make you superior. Dead last in our division swept by the NFC East worst team in the conference. But hey I guess have fun sticking it to those fans for having the audacity to have higher expectations than being a doormat.
  19. Oh look we got another Ms Cleo. Since you know everything why don't you just go ahead and tell us who we are going to pick and what the Panthers record will be next season?
  20. Still plenty of time between now and the draft but it seems obvious Pickett will be under heavy consideration for us. The hand size stuff is funny but more just for headlines. All I need to know is can he play football? If it's him or someone like Jimmy G then I would rather just roll the dice in the draft. Folks need to go ahead and accept we will be throwing high draft picks at QB until we hit same as other franchises before us. This was the future that awaited us when so many of you were practically celebrating the demise of Newton's career. Don't cry now.
  21. I am thoroughly enjoying laughing at the posters lining up to kiss the ring and make excuses for Rhule
  22. I think this is overblown but waiting to have his hands measured is pretty funny. This should be a fun draft.
