Right. Marty Hurney exits and the first big move of the new regime is trading for Sam Darnold. Now we are back to restructuring contracts left and right with no viable starting QB on the roster. We're doing a bang up job of carrying on the tradition ol' Hurney started. Somehow Fitterer has a reputation as a guru here but you wouldn't see it from the moves last year especially those first day OL signings. He has just as much to prove as Rhule.

There are a few options out there but none are any we would be in love with. That being said just about any would be better than the Jets bust teaching our rookie QB. I so wish we had not done that. But what can ya do.

Draft. Darnold needs to be shown the door.

Robby Anderson wants Panthers to work out Colin Kaepernick

Eric Reid was released over two years ago. If he hurt your feelings get over it and take this nonsense elsewhere. -
Robby Anderson wants Panthers to work out Colin Kaepernick

Lmao if a few social media posts are running fans off and not three 5 win finishes in a row or Sam Darnold derping his way through a podcast interview then I say good riddance. -
Man it's wild some people still don't get it. The Browns. The. BROWNS. Just gave a quarterback who has been drowning in public turmoil for months the largest guaranteed contract in NFL history to upgrade from Mayfield. How can no one see this is the Sam Darnold storyline all over again? If we do this and it blows up in our faces this franchise will never live it down that we were foolish enough to put all our chips in on the Jets and Browns leftovers in consecutive seasons. Just unbelievable levels of terrible.

Robby Anderson wants Panthers to work out Colin Kaepernick

It's obviously not going to happen but it is amusing how some people will work themselves into a tizzy over it. -
Third overall draft pick 19 million dollar salary this season and can't handle a few boos when he is statistically the worst starting quarterback in the NFL. He sure owned his struggles when he went to pout on the bench by himself after throwing a pick six against the Patriots.

10 hours later with the backpedal. I think you need a timeout.

Murray and other quarterbacks in their own contract predicaments are due to the owners. The NFL has created a situation with these QB contracts where it is a bubble waiting to burst. Now they are trying to blame the players for the mess they have created. The QB market and the WR market in particular are insane now. I think the draft is the best solution. The cruel irony of it all is if we had either took one last year or just held onto Teddy another year we would still have our 2nd rounder this year and we could take our QB/LT combo in this draft without agonizing over trades.

For the record I don't want either. But I especially don't want another manchild who thinks coming off one of his worst seasons is the best time to complain about fans for hurting his feelings. Neither Baker or Sam are leaders. That's all there is to it. We need better.

Baker Mayfield pulled a Sam Darnold and took to calling out fans for booing instead of owning his struggles as a QB like an adult. That mentality is a big part of why the market for his services has dwindled. In that aspect he is less desirable than even a guy who hasn't played QB in years like Kaepernick.

ELLIS L. WILLIAMS Of the OBSERVER on Jimmy G

Baker Mayfield is not a good leader lol. We would go from Sam Darnold who has zero leadership abilities to Baker who is toxic to his own teammates. How is that better? -
I am skeptical of Jordan as owner he has certainly had a key role in this mess. As far as pay though how do you know we didn't try to lure big name coaches? Even with similar salary offered to what they could make in a big market do they want to come here? Borrego is averaging 2 million a year. Do you think he should be paid more? He's making comparable salary to other beginner head coaches. His salary reflects the state of the team and our standing in the NBA. Which sadly as of now is a doormat. You can blame Mike you can blame Mitch you can blame the lack of defensive effort but the buck stops with James on the play-in game debacle

1st in cap space but the credit cards are maxed......why?
frankw replied to AU-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
There is wiggle room with the salary cap and I don't think it is as doomsday inducing as some have suggested in the past. But it is entertaining seeing takes shift from cap hell to cheering Fitterer for playing 4D chess pulling the same moves Hurney did. -
Colts get Gilmore. 2 years 23 mill. 14 guaranteed.

It was always a pointless Madden GM mode kind of trade now it is confirmed. -

Todd McShay - Rhlue "won't be crying when the two sides part ways"
frankw replied to trueblade's topic in Carolina Panthers
Who knows exactly what he heard or who from. Does it really change our already negative perception of Rhule anyway? I try not to get too worked up about it anymore because honestly I don't see it as a given that he is gone after this year. Tepper is a stubborn mule folks should have figured this out by now. -
Kyler Murray deal in Arizona getting very interesting.
frankw replied to NCTHFL0567's topic in Carolina Panthers
I love these conversations you can see who will immediately shift to a "greedy players" take while overlooking the owners pulling in tens of billions annually which is only increasing btw. If the owners have a problem with other players not playing out contracts then they should stop overseeing record breaking deals for their own respective rosters that instantly raise contracts across the board for every other team. -

McShay is a weasel name dropping for attention.
