Mahomes and Geno Smith had the same wonderlic score. It's honestly meaningless.

People are in here hating on Lamar Jackson like they wouldn't take him given the chance? I would accept either Willis or Pickett but I would not particularly like to see either running too much been there done that it does not end well.

When looking at his time at Liberty the completion percentage is identical actually. https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/malik-willis-1.html https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/kenny-pickett-1.html

Post Mortem on the Watson Trade (from Albert Breer)
frankw replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
The twists and turns of that days long process showed what a circus it would be for whichever team traded for him. Surely the Browns will never regret paying him 230 million dollars guaranteed. -
Observation: Panthers want to Draft a QB but...

That's your opinion cool. -
We better not lose to New Orleans at home after blowing out the Mavs.

Cam will be 33 in May. As a starter it's over and isn't even fair to expect him to make magic with this group. If we bring him back as a mentor I could see that but why would he want to and at what point would that get awkward as the franchise is stuck in a transition period now? I would rather see him compete somewhere else for a real role if that is in the cards but it seems like a longshot given all circumstances.

Pickett isn't my top choice at 6 but I'll accept it. Some of the doomsday takes about him as a prospect are getting worn out. Losing out on both Stafford and Watson should have made it clear to all fans we'll probably be taking 2 quarterbacks in the draft in the next four to five years unless one just turns into an elite guy which if you know this team is not how our luck goes. This is all we have left

Yeah that's not happening. Not after former head coaches publicly outing offers from ownership for purposely losing.

Veruca Salt wants a superstar lol. If only things worked out that easily for our Panthers.

Yeah Mac Jones looked very cerebral in the playoffs against Buffalo.

Kenny Pickett > Malik Willis (at least for us)

If the rest of the league valued him the way some do he would have already been traded again to a team in much better position than we are. I wouldn't be mad if he was our starter by any means but the question is what is his ceiling. If it isn't better than what a rookie QB could offer that is why he is still an Eagle.

You complained about the QB's last year in the draft to no end and then went on to slurp Darnold even until it was obvious he was awful. There is no plan now we only made the "rebuild" process even longer. We should have drafted a tackle and a QB when we knew Cam was done three years ago instead of continuing to overinvest in the defense. Now we are a poverty franchise that no franchise QB's want to play for by choice. Desperation is all that is left get used to it. -

Yeah well you also don't trade for Sam Darnold and guarantee his 19 million dollar option sight unseen but here we are. -

I don't have high expectations for this years class but I have accepted our mgmt will likely take a swing anyway. If Rhule fails he will be gone and we'll reset and draft one next year again. But as far as ceilings and comparisons everyone has their own opinion on what traits define an elite QB. I personally do not feel we are in position to dunk on Carr or Ryan. For the time being going from the worst QB to one that could help us compete for playoffs is a fine first step. And I absolutely hate that you guys make me defend Matt Ryan but he is not the only former MVP to choke away a Super Bowl. We did against an inferior QB who was throwing ducks all game. It sucks beyond words when it's your team on the receiving end but it does happen. -
Gettis is one example of the lengthy list of wide receivers we hoped would pan out into more over the years. Some had higher talent and promise than others. We just do not know his capabilities as a WR1 until we get a QB in here who can actually threaten with the deep ball consistently and open up the offense. I don't think it's hyperbole to say Sam Darnold was one of the worst passers since 2010 only Clausen was worse. Both Moore and Anderson especially have taken their share of flack for last season and yes some of it was surely legitimate. But it's time to actually give them a real chance.
