Unfortunately for Sam it isn't only the situations that were trash it was his overall performance. League worst.

We can love Cam Newton and not be delusional. We lost to Tyler Heinicke who looked like an elite quarterback. Sam Darnold is so terrible he lost to Daniel Jones.
-
Look at you being all different and cool. You're so above it all.
-
None of the above. Draft one.
-
He definitely reads what fans have been saying. He's either trolling or he is telling the fans he is going to do what he wants and they can go fug themselves if they don't approve.
-
Yeah not remotely surprised by this. I've been saying all along people may want to go easy with the early rejoicing of thinking Rhule is already halfway out the door. Tepper is stubborn.

We are comfortable drafting a couple QBs at 6

If it involves anyone who thought Sam Darnold looked like a franchise QB it's doomed before it even starts.
-
They wish they had day 2 picks. Well.... you had nothing to do with it Scott? How some still worship unproven decision makers is beyond me.

I've never been less excited about a draft in Panthers history.

The QB class sucks the staff sucks. Yeah yeah yeah. We're still here. We'll still be talking about the draft. Worst case scenario is picking 6 and then nothing else until the fourth round. I don't see this likely unfolding. This regime is the definition of impatient. They will get more picks and I think they will swing at a QB even if it's in the second round. -
KD is washed and not clutch but Kyrie is still a cornerstone star? That’s some take ya got there. Good luck with that. But I do agree the Celtics look Finals bound. Though the Bucks should have something to say about that.
-
I would definitely prefer not to give up anymore future picks but I do think there is a legitimate chance under such a scenario that we trade back into the first or early 2nd. And look to these folks who actually believe this team can and will secure a top overall pick. You are dreaming. Wake up.

Meanwhile checking in on the Nets...

We've been paying the price for Matt Rhule's overinflated ego since he and Tepper started a public beef with Cam Newton shortly after he entered the picture. The fallout with Bridgewater and now Darnold is just more of the same.
-
I know some people believe this is a terrible class but with our luck one of them would go on to be a thorn in our side for years. That's just how things go for this snakebit franchise.

James Borrego / Matt Rhule…. Is their a worse 1-2 combo
frankw replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
You may be giving too much credit here. This is the same lot that looked at Sam Darnold and saw Matt Stafford. If they were that many steps ahead of their peers we wouldn't be in this fiasco. -
Scott Fowler and Tom Sorensen in their feels over Borrego's dismissal only validates the need for this move even more.
-
Eh our defense was dragged up and down the field by some mediocre offenses with Reddick and Burns on the field. Yeah a DE would be nice but it's a luxury pick and will not stop a repeat of last season if our offense keeps the defense on the field because we're going three and out and turning the ball over on repeat.
-
This after throwing the game sealing pick into triple coverage against the Eagles. These people still buying in are insane. We used to clown on fans like the Jets but even they accepted reality.
-
Wouldn't surprise me at all but at some point Fitterer is going to trade down he wants more picks he can't help himself.
-
There has been good and bad with Mitch. I'd rather he stay for the time being but let's not act like he has no blame in all this. We gambled on the Hayward contract and center has yet again become an afterthought with Plumlee stinking up the joint. This team needs some new direction and that should begin with taking a swing at a legit big man finally.

Jordan definitely has had his flaws no doubt but moving on from Borrego was the right call. Whoever said he was not the problem is either confused or did not watch much Hornets basketball the last few years.
