  1. If you're going back 20+ years to find your examples you're making my point for me. I called Henry old school because he has quite literally kept the Titans relevant carrying his team with the likes of average QB's like Ryan Tannehill. The days of Faulk and Tomlinson are getting further and further away. If you're waiting on Christian McCaffrey to dominate like that for the next couple of seasons without any injuries keep hope alive but being delusional is only going to make reality hurt more when it slaps you in the face.
  2. Um actually it's usually the beginning of the downhill slide at this point for many past backs. Todd Gurley was washing out of the league at 26. Of the current backs Derrick Henry had been one of the few in the old school mold who could start week in and week out and continually put up big numbers and not get banged up really bad. But at 28 he's now been dealing with the injury wall. We can hope McCaffrey stays healthy and plays a full season. But to argue we were better off with him being out hurt while accounting for a significant portion of our salary cap and hindering our ability to build an oline is taking positivty to the extreme. When we signed him to that deal we didn't even have a starting QB in place. That's just not how you build a contending football team.
  3. "On paper" we look improved and even serviceable. We have weapons and possibly a QB who can get the ball to them. But I caution any Panthers fan that has lived through many past offseasons to wait on popping any champagne bottles about the oline until we see consistency.
  4. I could begin to somewhat understand the knob polishing of Rhule and co if our OL had been any semblance of good or a strength the last two years. But instead our staff saw fit to sign two of the worst free agent linemen on the first day of free agency and were heavily resistant to giving Christensen reps at left tackle until the end of the season. Hiring Campen was a step in the right direction but Rhule still runs the show and his comments about Slater only fanned the flames of the criticism.
  5. More desperate? We had the worst OL in the league at one point. And the Giants curb stomped us.
  6. It's just information. Take it or leave it.
  7. 3-9 divisional record and lost to every fired head coach last year. How's that for a measuring stick? He can shut everyone up this season though. Hopefully Baker is the answer.
  8. Players liked Ron Rivera too. Last time we saw that guy his team was kicking our ass. Matt has as much to prove as anyone.
  9. And some looney tunes here who think he still might turn the corner and poof look at that he's a franchise QB
  10. Guys take it easy it's only Monday. No need to go all scorched Earth on each other. Save that for the trolls.
  11. Miles can get fuged. He's done it before and going on IG the day after like it was all good shows pathological tendencies. Nobody is perfect in this world but most of us don't beat and nearly choke our significant other to death in front of our kid. He should never play in the NBA again.
  12. This would depend greatly on whether or not you think this is the last time Watson will be in the news for doing stupid poo. To me the odds don't favor the Browns. Even with this news I still say they saved us from ourselves.
  13. Opinions will vary about Corral but the aspect that should not be disputable is we shouldn't be wasting reps on a QB with no future here and possibly as a starter in the rest of the NFL. Corral should be splitting reps with Darnold from here on out at the very least.
  14. Much has been said about the Watt hit which yeah it had an impact. But the accumulated hits from those highlight plays of him running the football are the most consequential reason why things got so bad so suddenly. It has to serve as a very tough lesson for the franchise. When you get a star QB you protect him even if it means saving him from himself sometimes too.
  15. The strange notion here of Sam Darnold winning the quarterback competition centers around one thing. The passage of time. It's been almost a year since people have had to watch Sam Darnold play quarterback in the regular season. Sounds to me like they need to go back and watch some "highlights" and refresh their memory.
  16. Nothing wrong with viewing things with Panthers tinted shades sometimes but this is maybe you should talk to a therapist levels of delusion. The Jets and their fans already accepted who he is. To look at that and not only say "yeah I'll take more" but go on to say "yeah he could be the guy of the future" is honestly insanity.
  17. PJ Walker having the best day tells you just how much you can truly glean from training camp.
  18. You'll probably be able to find some footage later after the real camp MVP's the fans upload their videos. But it will be grainy or from across two fields thanks to team access rules.
  19. If I'm not mistaken TMJ was the camp champ more often than not early on last year. Then he couldn't even get a game jersey even after we had nothing to play for. Just have to take all this in camp for what it is with a big grain of salt. If we see progress in preseason against some starters then we can start feeling good.
  20. The trade got some bad reception because we traded for the worst QB in the league before that and proceeded to stack corners while simultaneously we were fielding a bottom ranked oline and our run defense was obliterated by midseason. He deserved the benefit of the doubt and people knocking him for dealing with depression were dummies but let's not forget the full picture of that situation. Fans had a right to be skeptical. Still have to see it in the regular season. We hope.
  21. If Teddy Bridgewater with a better arm is the ceiling then personally I would rather see something else. If you can't trust your QB with the ball in his hands then you don't actually have a QB. The flip side is Baker is prone to blunders too. But it should be Mayfield or Corral.
