I agree with you but like Darnold the biggest thing Jones has going for him is he has all the physical intangibles. 6'5 230 as well. I'm not arguing he's good or he ever will be. But there is at least some kind of justification. With us there's nothing and the QB we traded up for is one of the least physically gifted QB's in the league. He is in no way shape or form a processing savant as advertised either. If the decision makers decided to give him more leash I'll probably stop watching. Cannot tolerate anymore coddling.

Congrats to #14 and the rest of the offense. Had no clue that no Panthers QB had won the award before. I could have sworn Cam did at least once. Keep cooking Andy

If you guys suddenly want to have super high standards that's good to hear. But it's a bit jarring to see folks who made endless excuses for Bryce Young playing horribly now dismissing Diontae Johnson playing really well with Andy Dalton.

I completely agree the bottom of the roster and depth is the opposite of ideal. This is where our new front office and coaching staff come in to play and we can begin to assess them as the season progresses. For me as a fan I just am tired of this hit dog mentality where we expect just because some unforseen event happens we should tumble down to the league doormat. No. Good teams across the league lose talent to different circumstances and still find ways to at least be somewhat competitive. That's because they have competent management and coaching. That's where I want to see the Panthers in time.

As far as Canales and preseason goes I think he already knew what was on the horizon with BY. He was looking at the same thing we were all through camp. When your #1 pick is throwing no look picks into double coverage in the middle of the field in camp and then just sinking his shoulders and walking away like he wants to be anywhere else there's nothing any coach can do for that. The team sees it too and from there that's a wrap. I understand where you're coming from about his fit with BY. But for me I never looked at it from a perspective of he has to fix Bryce Young. I said all along come in see what you've got try to work with him and whatever happens we go from there. I've always said he needs to be given the opportunity to get and develop his own guy or guys until we identify the rookie he wants to develop. I completely agree about the offensive development of our young core. That's my silver lining for this season. If we can successfully do that then I will feel pretty good heading into next season. Other than that my expectations are still low. Just give me some competitive football.

I think it's important to differentiate lack of culture from lack of talent. Do we need more talent? On the defensive side clearly. As we took resources from that side of the ball to rebuild our offensive line. But that had to be done. Saying we are not the least talented doesn't equate to saying we are suddenly a "good" team. It's simply an acknowledgement that even in our current state of rebuilding our roster especially on the defensive side we can still compete. To that end that is why we hired someone like Evero and why we've made it a point to retain his services. There are 14 more games worth of ups and downs for us to explore I accept we will inevitably stumble again at some point all I ask for is to continue being competitive and shedding this loser mentality that has become pervasive within the franchise.

I mean in fairness you've been badmouthing Canales for weeks and you're talking about others swinging too hard one way. Just a smidge hypocritical no? Anywho I think the majority of people know we are not "very good". But we are also by far not the worst team in the league or the least talented team in the league. We went on the road and showed that we can compete at a high level. That's all anyone has asked for. To your point there is overall validity to it. We should take things with a grain of salt for the time being regarding our overall season outlook based off one win. But we also should give the coaches and the team a little grace to continue to build on this. We can be both complimentary and critical if needed when the time comes just as we always have.

YES! I'm so excited for him. It's a bummer about AT but to see young guys like Coker get a legit look is awesome.

In the span of one week with him on the bench we have gone from the worst team in the league the first 2 games to one of the best offenses in the league even the defense looked better. Morale was up across the board. To currently believe (given all we now know) that he will undoubtedly go on to become a top QB on his next team without question just to spite us is not a take that exists within the bounds of reality.

The locker room said all there is to say on the field against the Raiders. Get what you can get and move on.

He's fun to watch I hope he does well. Also good to see the Bears pulling a Panthers and letting the best QB of the class go right after their pick. On another note. Panthers fans know better than anyone what it ends with when your franchise QB takes too many unnecessary hits no matter how big he is. It takes an accumulative toll. His coaches better address that before they get him banged up or worse. Also see AR.

Credit where it's due to Morgan and Canales had his input as well I'm sure.

Hard pass. He was talking about life after football before he was even drafted and he looks like he can't be bothered out there while his team is getting blown out. Also worth mentioning when the Jags whooped us last season he didn't even play.

Rex Ryan looks like a talking thumb. He makes Terry Bradshaw almost seem vaguely likeable by comparison. His brother is somehow even worse. fug their whole family tree.

Luke like Thomas Davis is just trying to be kind and not pile on Bryce. They have eyes just like any of us. Andy Dalton opening up the entire field changed everything. As for his endorsement of Canales it means a great deal and I love to hear it. Establishing a real culture was the first step. We just have to give our head coach time to grow and learn with his team.

Robert Hunt to Panthers fans at home next week

I'll take this 10 times out of 10 over guys just going through the motions like in the past. Canales is establishing a culture. Let's see how they carry this into the upcoming weeks and build on it. There's still work to be done. -
Man of the people. Love to see it. So refreshing to have a good oline for a change.

Ochocinco offers an Apology to the Team and to Panthers Fans

Well at least someone in the sports talk community has some credibility. Good for him. -
I appreciate his candor. Need more of this in sports talk and less dumb loudmouths that never own their takes and only double down. Also he just hit the pro tank crowd here with the People's Elbow. You don't build a culture by losing!

Too early to say. But based on what's transpired over the last year it should be plain to see that our approach with any rookie QB should change wholesale. Dalton or another veteran of Canales choosing stays and holds onto the reigns while our next rookie QB learns behind him. No handing anyone the keys to the franchise without earning it.

When he isn't dancing he at least gets a few yards. With this OL playing the way they are there's really no excuse not to get chunk plays more often than not. Hubbard has a ridiculous burst. I'm just waiting to see what the Hubbard/Brooks combo looks like...

Big guys out there putting in work means we are on the right track. Credit to Hunt and credit to Morgan for bringing him and Lewis in. Also credit to Corbett and Moton has been putting in work too. Building something good in Carolina. It's great to see.
