  1. There is validity to this but it's also a different kind of trade. If someone offered us that haul to move down in the draft and we passed we could draw parallels. This does not compare to that IMO not picks two years away that could be with an entirely different GM. I get you guys are frustrated but it's getting a little excessive now. And I still don't buy for one minute any of ya'll are gonna be singing happy songs if we have a trash ass pass rush. Don't fuging sit here and lie to me lol.
  2. If you want to rewrite history that's your prerogative but we both know. As for Delhomme no he isn't a hall of fame quarterback but in his best years before the surgery he was head and shoulders way above any QB we have started since early 2019. I wish we had a QB of that caliber and not just his play but his leadership and clutch ability. We all would love another Cam but that's hitting the PowerBall twice. No Moore is not 89 idk who is saying that but it's obviously false they are two very different dudes Steve Smith had an entirely different mentality from really just about anyone else that played the position. To say he was rare only scratches the surface. He was not without his flaws either though. But DJ does not have to be Steve Smith to be impactful and help this team contend. Just as any future linebacker we draft doesn't have to be Luke Kuechly or Thomas Davis. Yes you can and should use the past as a barometer somewhat but you can't live in the past forever eventually you have to embrace new talent and appreciate what you've got while you've got it.
  3. Just saying but plenty of GM's have been fired with the approach you're going for in trading away players for picks but the problem was those picks did not end up being the returns they had hoped for and in the meantime the team sunk further so either way out of a job. You can find some examples of teams who have had success doing this but there are many more than have failed miserably. The best approach for now is to retain Burns services and look to the draft for a quarterback.
  4. It's the same people who whined about paying a QB but were perfectly fine sinking the salary cap in a running back. You can't reason with it.
  5. Alright that's enough someone take his keys and get him an Uber home.
  6. There he is! Couldn't go a whole day without quoting me huh? Now that's dedication
  7. I get the vibe he just doesn't like DJ. It's fine but he has fawned over far lesser receivers over the years like David Gettis lol. So if Moore hasn't at least proven himself to be a stud after putting up multiple 1k seasons with the likes of Kyle Allen Teddy Bridgewater Sam Darnold Baker Mayfield and PJ Walker he isn't ever going to be sold. No use trying to talk him down. Maybe he'll be happier when we end up back in the days of recycling WR's hoping even one of them shows some promise.
  8. It's time to dust this off and remind everyone to take a deep breath here and there between games.
  9. There's nothing you can say to anyone that still needs to see more tape to evaluate Walker. We could keep him around as a backup that's best case scenario. Right now one of these college QB's could play as good or better. They could also just as easily throw touchdowns for the other team too.
  10. Well only one of them plays offense. Plus many here have claimed 22 to have been the best weapon in football and we just scored 34 points for the first time since last November without him and PJ Walker was our QB. Sorry man you can't have it both ways here.
  11. I don't overvalue him I already said if we are talking two firsts this year and next I'm listening. We're comparing Burns to CMC now? He definitely hasnt gotten a pass haha people have been complaining about him for months. Is every damn discussion about a player from here on going to go back to CMC? Let it go dude.
  12. This is true. But it can cut two ways as well. What are the odds that the next pass rusher we draft doesn't take that much time to develop as well? We all know the demand here is instant results. So we are waiting two years for the picks and then another 1-2 years minimum to see it pan out. Yeah I'm gonna go ahead and say this beleaguered fanbase does not have the patience for that.
  13. I wish we could see Wilks with a better quarterback situation but I think that barring a miracle we're changing gears altogether. But part of me is torn as I have wanted an offensive minded coach but seeing guys like Hackett and McDaniels stumble with two of the leagues most struggling offenses gives me pause. I'm still eager to see what Steve can do with this group the rest of the way.
  14. Haven't you heard? Teams who have the draft picks and need can just draft one and not miss apparently. Others are using the same reasoning for trading DJ Moore. People are living fantasies.
  15. McAdoo hasn't proven a thing to even get input in trades he should have one foot out the door already tbh. We can and will do better. At least I hope.
  16. Insisting on trying to get us to take Akers off their hands is reason enough for me to tell the pricks to kick rocks. Nobody wants your washed up quitter running back.
  17. If the picks weren't far off I would be more inclined to heavily consider the offer. But either way I'm just a fan and I'll let it play out and roll with the results. But I can tell you one fuging thing. I'll be here to remind the folks bitching about the losing because there will be bitching.
  18. I'm not trying to be rude but in truth you are one of the more reactionary people here so we both know you will not make it two seasons without expressing frustration with our defense minus Burns. It's going to happen. All I'm saying is just know what you're advocating for here.
  19. Saying we can wait two years might sound okay at this moment but the buyers remorse will set in quickly when some of the flip flop types here get a load of our new pass rush in the meantime. You can't have it both ways.
  20. Who knows they have an open window as long as they have McVay and a franchise QB. Plus they already have the hardware in the trophy case.
  21. I know but he won another ring with them and I'm not doing that team favors to get another one. Two firsts only matter if you have proven decision makers in place. Some people want to anoint Fitterer as the next great GM when he has proven little and he is a part of the reason Darnold is here. I am not just putting blind faith in the idea that he is going to hit on two franchise players with those picks.
