You again? The guy is one of the main Darnold homers here and if this post doesn't spell it out for you I can't help you. Run along now.
-
McAdoo is a genius now? The Darnold extremists are going to great lengths with this cope. I'm very eager to see what Ben and Sam can cook up for us if our run game isn't reaching historic heights.
-
It has relevancy to the convo because while I agree to this point Sam does show capability to be a backup/bridge QB we don't know if how he is playing is sustainable or if he will revert to old habits when pressure to score points on his own without a powerful run game increases. The situation with Baker is an example of not putting too much stock into a performance one way or another like some people are doing now suddenly thinking we can hitch our wagon to Sam for the foreseeable future and forego drafting another quarterback.

So next week’s game against the Bucs is definitely rigged, right?

It figures the Cardinals couldn't take care of business. But yeah the refs will definitely look out for Tom if we let the game stay close in the fourth quarter. We really need the pass rush to step up. -
Indeed but I'm just giddy to see the Broncos in peril teetering on the edge of catastrophe and embarrassing themselves.

This mess with pulling Patrick Mahomes into an argument to validate reasoning why Sam Darnold of all QB's could be really good is proof we need more other teams fans posting here to ridicule this buffoonery into oblivion. The echo chamber here is sad.

Russell Wilson and Tom Brady both looking like hot garbage in December is a fantastic gift.

@Catsfan69You can poo every post on this board it won't change facts. Stay mad Jethro.

So Baker Mayfield who most here would agree was total ass cheeks as a Carolina Panther just set the single game completion percentage record for the Rams at 85.7% in a win where they dropped 51 points. Meanwhile some Panthers fans here are ready to crown Sam Darnold because he finally managed 68% with a 300 yard rushing day from his backfield. Gotta love the Panthers fanbase.

He had a 36.2 QBR and threw a pick on the first play in that game haha

If Sam is going to become a guy it's going to be with his arm we've already seen what running like Cam Newton did for him against the Falcons in Atlanta. Remind me how many games was it he missed from that hit? In this league you've got to be able to get the ball in the end zone with your arm too.

That's false I already acknowledged him in another thread. The truth of the matter is you and a few other Darnold extremists on this board hurt his cause with your malarkey. He had some good throws and played well enough to win. He only put up 7 points though and had a run game put up 300 yards against the Lions. We do not get to play Detroit on repeat like Madden all the way to the Super Bowl. We have to play good teams with very good QB's and that means Sam has to put points on the board. Our red zone passing efficiency really isn't at all impressive. You need that to compete with playoff teams. Darnold has to show he can hang with the best at his position throw for throw. That hasn't happened.

We could have Cheddar Bob behind center and still people like Catsfan69 would somehow find a way to hype him up like he's a future hall of famer. Meanwhile he detests mobile QB's with a few notable exceptions like Steve Young and Joe Montana. He's pretty upfront with the motivations behind his reasoning.

Sounds good to me. Fitting.
-
I'm fine with Chuba for what we are asking of him and where we drafted him. Just never throw the man a football.
-
Best case scenario is Sam can be a decent backup/bridge until the next QB is ready to go. The concern is over the next few games will circumstances allow him to continue to eek by without having to do much more than he's asked. It's inevitable we will see some wtf moments and even an OC like McAdoo is capable of hiding those for a time but it won't last.

Juan won't stay gone for long.

Haha there it is! Some things never change. Merry Christmas.

Yes that is true but we still had info about the drives from each QB coming out of camp thanks to our local guys. Both of them were making ill advised throws and both of them were throwing the occasional touchdowns. But Baker looked to have the better improvisation ability and threw more deep passes. Neither were what you would consider very impressive though. I'm glad Sam had a good game and he deserves credit for some nice throws but just like with Baker Teddy and Kyle Allen before him one game two games three games or four games does not make a career. It is so damn demoralizing as a fan to keep having to compare turds and decide which one looks shinier because it's all we've got Anyways. Merry Christmas ya'll

You don't have to like it. None of us do. But it's going to remain a source of debate about our 8th overall pick. Now Jaycee could very well go on to have an injury free career for the next several seasons. But do you actually believe that is going to happen? I hope it does but I also know Santa isn't real.
