  1. I was a big Moore fan. Still am. I think he'll make some noise with the Bears if their coaching staff is any good. But I can't dismiss what you're saying. Even I noticed it. We'll see what the change of scenery does for him.
  2. It's fine to be skeptical. We should be and adjust expectations for either of these QB's we will select. But you are not being consistent. To you it sounds as if one QB is head and shoulders above the other when they are actually fairly close intangibles wise and as passers. But knocking one for playing with a talented team and not the other is simply laughable bud. Just be consistent.
  3. Idk I do wonder if there was tension with Moore and the front office after how he reacted to Wilks publicly calling him out. But everybody should prepare for both him and McCaffrey to get a lot of attention this upcoming season. Both will produce. Hopefully Reich and Fitterer will have fielded a team led by our new QB that will be good enough to keep people from wanting to look in the rearview. Better make the right pick Scott. No pressure.
  4. So let me get this straight. Our offense that hasn't even been fully formed via draft and FA will suck with Stroud but if we draft your favorite guy with a lighter build than Matt Corral things will all fall into place and we'll be instant contenders. This right here is why more and more people are growing tired of the takes from Bryce Young's most delusional supporters.
  5. Considering we just traded a 25 yo WR to move up 8 spots they better offer a damn nice package or they can kick rocks. Even still. Why give them or anyone the chance to choose the first QB? We made the move. Make the pick and be done with it.
  6. That's interesting but that's for all position groups. Still good data to ponder on though. There just isn't enough to go on with this situation specifically as it pertains to Young. One or both of these QB's in Stroud and Young will go on to do big things. It would be a shame if we took one of them and things didn't go our way while the other became a star for another winning starved franchise.
  7. What data are you providing? Just typing "because Russell Wilson and Drew Brees" and saying there done doesn't count.
  8. It's a beautiful Saturday and @poundaway has nothing to do but lurk and spam poo reactions lol. You are a legit psychopath dude.
  9. Cam Newton endured historic usage overall and beyond his rushing he made work things within the pocket with some truly horrific olinemen. Make no mistake he took his share of punishment within the pocket too. His frame helped. Young has already dealt with a shoulder injury btw. I'm sure you'll downplay that. "Young is listed a 6-foot, 194 pounds. That is historically small for a first-round quarterback. The last time a quarterback was taken in the first round who was the same size or smaller was 1960 – Richie Lucas, at 6-foot, 190 pounds, went No. 4 to Washington. Lewis played two seasons in the NFL and threw 99 passes. Since 2000, nine quarterbacks have appeared in an NFL game listed at 6-1, 200 pounds or smaller: Jeff Garcia, Tim Rattay, Thaddeus Lewis, Doug Flutie, Tyler Huntley, Kellen Moore, John Wolford, Ty Detmer and Koy Detmer. They have started a total of 177 games (106 by Garcia) and appeared in five Pro Bowls (4 for Garcia, 1 for Flutie). There is, effectively, almost no useful historical data on a quarterback Young's size." https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nfl/colts/2023/01/23/nfl-draft-should-teams-worry-about-no-1-qb-prospect-bryce-youngs-size/69833733007/ There is an article that does a fairly good job of summarizing the present day conundrum. There really isn't enough data for a QB of Young's size to say if he will or won't have a long career. But the comparable QB's in his height and weight range in league history are concerning. At the very least if you draft him it will always remain in the back of your mind. But dismiss all this if it makes you feel better 🫡
  10. Oh stop that do not drag Cam Newton into this you're acting like he was wheelchairbound after 2018. It's his arm. Other than that he survived a great deal of punishment considering how many times he rushed the football for us. That is specifically because of his size advantage. And yes if you think the size thing is "overblown" you clearly do have an agenda. Don't get upset when people point that out to you.
  11. True but they didn't hire him to be the QB coach just to tell him to fug off.
  12. Sure but "average" these days in terms of wide receivers is still pretty damn good. The Chiefs traded for a WR from the Giants and he helped them win a Superbowl. It's still a very sought after position and there are only so many to go around. I get the vibe some people are high on hopium and convincing themselves this is kind of like replacing an RB. We'll see how it shakes out.
  13. That's why they made the trade now. Plenty of time to mull it over. But I will trust Reich's judgment. Also Josh McCown will have a thing or two to say about all this.
  14. Maybe we could stop comparing any of these rookie QB's to current or future hall of famers to fit our agendas. So far I'm seeing many more people doing this for Bryce than I am Stroud though.
  15. If Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray are your only comps that can convince you he's your guy you might be in trouble.
  16. That's the thing you're trying to make me out to just be a Bryce hater when I'm not. I think Stroud is more accurate and he has a better arm. But Young has plenty intangibles to like and he is solid in the mental aspects. There really aren't too many knocks on him in the most important areas. And the same can be said for Stroud but you aren’t giving him the benefit of the doubt because you only have eyes for Bryce. Getting back to size. Manziel was a fug head of the worst kind but he also was never going to replicate the things he did in college in the NFL and he was not going to play for 10-15 years regardless. You just don't want to face these realities for Bryce.
  17. You can't just say "aside from size" and move on like it's totally inconsequential. The guy is size of Johnny Manziel. It's a huge difference in how we approach building the offense around him because he is going to touch the ball more than anyone else. If you want Young then we have to go even heavier on addressing our oline. We've seen how he looks on a stacked Bama team going against mediocre programs. Any time a defensive linemen gets near him I will hold my breath.
  18. I could see DJ being newly motivated and going on a revenge tour. I could see it going the other way too. But if he has a career resurgence it will be fun to see those down on him flip flop.
  19. This must have you in a tough spot. Tepper signed off on shipping off Moore but you wouldn't want to be seen being critical of your favorite billionaire owner. What to do what to do.
  20. OP is fully on the Bryce Young wagon. This "just asking questions" bit about Stroud is easy to see through. If you are not willing to make this same kind of thread to discuss Young's cons then just say you want Young over him and stop the charade.
  21. But Leaky Faucet said we really wanted Carr
  22. Winning a title isn't the end all be all though. There are pros and cons for each QB. You go with the traits that you think will directly translate and can be coached up to even greater heights with this staff. Looking at the physical aspect it's a tough sell to expect Bryce to last 10-15 years with his frame. There's nothing wrong with acknowledging that.
