There's a reason fellas are clinging to Brees and Wilson. Later in his career Brees did nothing but statpad and Wilson has already gotten a head coach fired on his new team. The only other one you could mention is Kyler Murray and I do enjoy how you pro Young guys don't want any parts of that one now. Convenient. Anywho the negatives for Stroud are how will he react to NFL pressure and how quickly will he process all that. Based on what I know of his character and him as a person I have no doubt he will be committed to soaking up everything the coaching staff throws at him. He has the pocket presence the accuracy and he can make the throws. If they think they can coach him up make the pick. Moving to Bryce Young if he's the pick there's some stipulations you need to get out of the way first. Foremost you need to keep investing big in your OL depth. Two you do not want him taking hits in the pocket or scrambling much. But that's his game isn't it? Well if you want him available through a 17 game season that's largely out the window. He's going to have to adjust his game to withstand the rigors of a full season. He played against some big boys in the SEC but this is a new level. And even in the SEC he got his shoulder banged up. You have to acknowledge these concerns and act accordingly.

Where did you get the word bust from anything I said? He isn't on a hall of fame trajectory just yet. I mean if he is so is Josh Allen. Could they be? Sure. But they are not in the same tier as Mahomes. Sorry that's just reality. You have to win at least one ring. When you get to two that's get another level. Look man I'm not the one comparing Stroud to everyone from NFL GOAT's to NBA GOAT's to martial arts legends. I'm not trying to compare him to any of that because he has everything to prove still. He or Young could either come out of the gate swinging or they could require a longer adjustment. I think many Panthers fans need to adjust their expectations at least for the first couple of seasons.

Go to the Panthers website pull up their roster and look for all the 5'10 or below players. There are 4. Now if you repeated that process with the other 31 NFL teams what do you think you'd find? The folks who don't see this as an issue are not going to be convinced and those who do aren't either. What it boils down to is either you believe he will be one of 3 outliers in the last 40 years or he won't. If we draft him I hope he balls out but it will remain in the back of my mind.

He has some of those qualities but i think they are different. It's not an absurd comp though. Burrow is a very good young QB. But two things he is not. 1 a hall of famer and 2 a two time super bowl champion before the age of 28. Young has been compared to everything from that to Steph Curry to Michael Jordan to Bruce Lee. Need I go on?

Mahomes comparisons are peak hopium. If Bryce Young were that the Bears would not have budged from their spot.

This all day. Folks have been hyping Fitterer from day one. That's all well and good but now is his time to validate that. It's going to take 1-2 seasons to truly assess the results.

It all depends on how the staff view this. If they think they can coach up (no shortage of minds) then roll the dice. If they think Bryce is the better choice go with that. But you can't coach Young into a bigger frame.

I'm trying to be cordial but you quoted me. And the other day you pulled our prior disagreement into a whole new thread you created. I'm not trying to change your mind generally no one here has been able to do that on most topics. But we still talk about this sports team to pass the time. That's all this is. I'll give Reich and company the benefit of the doubt and accept whichever QB our staff believes will be the guy to lead this franchise the next ten years or more. I hope their selection pays off.

We hired over a quarter century worth of coaching wisdom. I hardly think their first order of business is basically copy pasting the Chiefs. You see what Reich and the Eagles did with Wentz and Foles. There are different paths. But I'm just not convinced the formula for Young some people are talking themselves into based on 3 outliers in 40 years is the fantastic plan they think it is. We'll see if the staff agrees soon enough.
