BetMGM has closed their book on the #1 overall pick
frankw replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
Of course the Texans are putting out that info they are hurt and playing hardball. But there's still a chance they get desperate and make an offer on the eve of the draft. I still would just stay at 1 and take our guy. -
poundaway are you okay? Enough is enough guy you've been lurking in every old Bryce Young thread spamming poo reactions for days. Mods can ya'll perform a welfare check on this man? TIA.

There's a lot to like in that tape and then there are things that you wonder will cause him trouble to some degree in the NFL. You like that he tries to extend the play but holding the ball the way he does is something the coaches are going to have to work with him on. You don't want to remove that from his game but also need to choose your battles wisely in that area.

BetMGM has closed their book on the #1 overall pick

There's a lot of talk still about us making a trade with Houston so they get Young. If they are that eager to acquire him that they would give us the 12th pick why wouldn’t we just draft him ourselves and be done with it? You run the risk of looking like a fool if you deal him and BY is a star with the Texans. Different variables to consider all around. -
What does that have to do with football? Players succeed and fail for a number of different reasons. Whether you like it or not there is a level of risk and it is in the same ball park as Anthony Richardson. When you add in the history the last 11 or 12 years in success and failure of first overall quarterbacks it brings that risk even further into focus. Considering this is simply reality. Does that mean I think Young will fail? No. But I see that there is a distinct possibility the best QB from this class may not even go #1. All I hope for is we pick the QB with the highest ceiling in the class. These discussions aren't going anywhere btw. This class will be compared for years to come. So folks who are sensitive to this discussion should settle in or maybe go watch some golf.

OFFICIAL: Bryce Young cancels remaining team visits
frankw replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
The guy can't help himself. He did the same thing with Matt Rhule and Sam Darnold. Once he's in he totally wraps himself up in whomever goes on to become his obsession. Remember when he was going to keep receipts on all the Darnold doubters? Then he abandoned his account. You just gotta let crazy be crazy. I'm excited regardless. No reason not to be happy at a time like this. Some folks can't handle difference of opinion and understand every draft pick the last half a century and more has had varying levels of doubt. But once the pick is made you support your guy. At the end of the day I'll happily take a clean slate with Young. Why? Because he isn't Kyle Allen Teddy Bridgewater Sam Darnold or Baker Mayfield. But this selection is just the beginning. It will be a tough road for any QB that is selected first. The same people trolling these threads will very likely go silent if and when BY has some gaffes like all rookies have and will. Yes we have a very good staff but we will still need to be patient. And until proven otherwise this wide receiver core is a few injuries away from being mostly mediocre. We need a WR for Young to grow with too. We'll see how the draft shakes out. I understand the trade down concept but hopefully Fitterer doesn't try to get too cute. Just get some protection and playmakers around your guy. -

You can tell some folks on either side of this are going to get warnings by draft night. Hell poundaway is still in and out of my notifications spending day and night looking through past posts for anything to poo on. Mental illness is real. -
Hypothetical Question that I'm sure will remain civil
frankw replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
Depends on how we continue to invest in the OL. People talk Brees and Wilson but one of those QB's played behind olines that their team invested very heavily in and the other ended up leaving Seattle because of their ineptitude in that area. Scott was there for that too. Just have to hope he's learned a big lesson and will leave no stone unturned in keeping our depth up to par. -

Agreed. All the bluster and suggestion that anyone other than one or two simpletons won't support the pick is just nonsense. You rally behind your guy and hope he meets and exceeds expectations. At the end of the day it isn't our jobs on the line. Tepper paid all this money for a staff with decades of wisdom if they believe in him so be it. -

Well the team did say they didn't want the back and forth between two guys going all the way until draft night. Still strange they even have Stroud and Levis bothering to roll into town at all. -
How the Top QB's performed when faced with pressure..

One of the main Bryce Young avatar guys posted Stroud's lowlights a few days ago. There's been some definite tomfoolery all around. -

Realistically with as much as some folks talk down on Stroud he will need to be mid at best or an outright bust to justify the slander. Regardless these two will have their careers connected for the next several years. Good luck to both. -
Which Top QB better fits the new OC play calling style..

How are you any better exactly? Last night and tonight you've been slinking around old Bryce Young threads spammng poo reactions. The truth of the matter is you are as bad or worse than any of the so called trolls you complain about. Look in the mirror. -

So they ate Mondo Burgers? -
Maybe let's not tempt fate and pile on Matt Corral leading up to us possibly drafting a QB lighter than he is first overall.
-
I see you had a little tantrum last night.

On today's episode of Panthers Subliminals...
frankw replied to PanthersGOATFan336's topic in Carolina Panthers
If you have a Bryce Young avatar and you've found yourself posting CJ Stroud "lowlights" after spending the last week venting to anyone that will listen about unfair bias toward Young maybe it's a sign to dial things back. -
Agreed. Does anyone remember that movie The Fan with Robert DeNiro and Wesley Snipes? That's what some of these extreme folks remind me of. This close to the draft it's best to look at the positives for the top 3 and acquaint yourself with each possibility.

I'm ready to get this pick announced and welcome our QB.

NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein on Houston possibly trading up to #1
frankw replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Levis is the biggest boom or bust of all. He seems like an alright guy but the lack of situational awareness on this stage in what is the biggest moment of your life that many people never get is just bizarre to witness. I think he'll either do well in an NFL locker room or things will get ugly. Not much room in between. Add in the Darnold comparison and... ehhhh. -

Not directly but the lack of his s2 score being leaked and this new slander of him being uncoachable after weeks of people questioning his football IQ is definitely reminiscent of some of the foolishness leveled against Cam Newton. Some things don't change. I wish him and AR well even if they aren't our pick. They both seem like good kids. I say the same about Young all size talk aside. There's nothing I've seen from any of the three that concerns me about them as human beings.
