  1. I think you're being really silly about this. Dalton is here to assist in the transition as a veteran presence for a first year rookie and another young QB who may as well developmentally be in his rookie season too considering all he missed after that early injury in preseason. What Andy Dalton is not here to do is start for any meaningful amount of time. In his last start he failed to outduel Sam Darnold for a win in a game where Sam finished with one of the bottom 10 passer ratings of all time. He has zero future here playing meaningful snaps. If we can get anything out of Matt Corral even in a backup role this is the coaching staff to do that and there is no reason to waste opportunities on Dalton over him. This really shouldn't be debatable.
  2. The height jokes are definitely played out but they'll go away for the most part when Bryce is playing well which we all hope for. Well..most of us.
  3. This is a good change. But it should have happened awhile ago. It's funny and revealing of the league offices motives it took one of the more popular teams in the league being taken to the woodshed in the NFC championship for it to happen. I'll say it again. Fug the 49ers.
  4. The DJ Moore hate makes me laugh. I definitely like the chances for TMJ and Mingo taking the next step and being good for us. But I also would not be surprised if Moore is quite successful with his new team and has a nice career considering he's only 25. I also am taking note of the fact some of the same folks hating on Moore are avid McCaffrey homers still. I see ya'll.
  5. I don't understand the need for all this anger and mud slinging over this. The best thing that could happen is Corral ends up being a quality backup for us.
  6. His playing days were before my time but I remember him in movies growing up like The Running Man I'm Gonna Git You Sucka and Mars Attacks. Legends live on in memories. RIP.
  7. Kai was not as far along as Mark. But the hurdle to his development was Plumlee. The front office had to trade Mason for Mark to get the chance to develop. That's classic Steve Clifford my guy.
  8. I'll believe it when I see it. Took way too long for Mark get his time to shine. When he did he balled out. We're cellar dwellers until we get a real coach in here and not Ron Rivera 2.0
  9. There's no point in berating each other over choosing between Scoot or Miller. As long as Clifford is coach either one will be lucky to see significant minutes.
  10. Hayward needs to go simple and plain. I'll take Scoot or Miller. But one thing Hornets fans need to recognize is we need consistent three point shooting. Yes defensive effort has been a problem that we've been trying to correct but in this league now you have to win from the 3 and we've had too many guys chucking up hero balls with no accuracy. Melo is the only one of that group that has shown a real level of consistency. You build around that. I still think this front office needs a house cleaning. I just can't allow myself to get overly hyped about the 2nd pick and our other picks after seeing how Kupchak navigated last years draft and how he has us now saddled with Hayward's albatross of a contract. Pair that with the fact we are for some reason still strangely keen on continuing the Steve Clifford reunion I'm having a hard time seeing a path to any playoff runs in the near future.
  11. What else is he supposed to say? That said I hope the Niners are poo. I'll be thrilled if they do well for a bit only to lose in similar fashion in the biggest game of their season again. Those bandwagon fans deserve the worst.
  12. Within the next 20 years at least a few of these consistently struggling small market teams won't reside in their current cities anymore. Crap like this is a big part of the reason why. Stars only pursuing big markets aren't helping either. Once LeBron hangs it up the league is going downhill anyway.
  13. Typical NBA. Of all the teams with a chance at the first pick the Spurs really? Not rigged at all lmao. Meh.
  14. Simms is wrong as much as he is right at best no different than any of these other "analysts". Honestly if he loves your QB that should give you pause.
  15. If we can't at minimum get a top 3 pick after all these years of suckage that's the biggest indicator any Charlotte sports fan needs to stop giving dollars to the NBA.
  16. It was a joking reference to the ignorant pre-draft criticism heaped on Cam Newton from Nolan Nawrocki when Cam was only 22 years old. It's meant to highlight to you the line you're teetering near in using those buzzwords to describe Bryce Young based on absolutely nothing before he has even had a chance to prove himself just as was done to Cam. If you have doubts that's one thing but be careful not to let history repeat itself just because he isn't who you wanted us to draft.
  17. Where is the footage of these lasers being thrown at rookie mini camp? I just watched two clips from Stroud throwing and both were basic throws. I've also seen the one from Levis. I haven't seen anything yet from any of the rookie quarterbacks that is going to go viral or anything. These teams aren't even doing much in their camps yet. Your incessant hating on your own QB is sad and embarrassing. If you are this petulant about the guy you wanted not being picked you should detach.
  18. Can we just get a subsection for people who just want to talk about how small he looks compared to other players and the rest of us can actually talk about football?
  19. If someone is still fixated on the pre-draft talking points about Young to the point they can't even get through rookie mini camp I don't really even see the point to bother tuning into any of this at all. Nobody is saying be a drooling homer but if you give off the vibe you are just keeping score waiting for a reason to say I told you so you're no different than the Cam doubters shortly after we drafted him.
  20. If our staff the front office and scouts think his arm strength is more than fine along with other teams that were looking at moving up for him I think it should be one of our lesser concerns as fans. He's only 21 and he will be hitting the weight room. Maybe let's get a look at him in training camp and preseason before declaring his arm strength this or that.
  21. We agree QB salaries are excessive and also agree he is ultimately mediocre along with Carr. But just like Carr who was coming off one of his worst seasons with arguably the best WR in football and still got a 150 million dollar deal with his new team the same will be waiting for Kirk if he ends up in a new city. That 10 million is just a placeholder for another fat contract we both know it. That's just the nature of the position now that there are so few good starting quarterbacks. I'm just glad we finally did what needed to be done to draft and develop our own.
