Both Chark and Shenault have an injury history it's why both their former teams moved on despite the talent they possess. TMJ is also perpetually banged up. Thielen our #1 is no spring chicken either. Unfortunately we backed ourselves into this corner. It's on Fitterer. Honestly he's very overrated here. Nice guy. Made a few nice picks and moves here and there. But very much unproven. Hopefully this doesn't bite us in the booty and hinder the development of the #1 pick we traded significant assets to draft.

Really we could find someone off the street to replicate his "performance".

Grant Gordon of NFL.com says O-line IS a thing in so many words
frankw replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
Most people had high expectations for Icky as a top ten pick. He was asset more often than not. Generally the thorn for us has been interior pressure. I don't expect that to drastically change. -
Annnnd there's the poo reaction

After everything that's transpired the last several months should we be hyperfocused on another QB's frame and weight
-
This might come as a surprise to you but there is a happy medium between paying one RB the most expensive contract in the league at his position with no starting QB in place and fielding a backfield with sensible contracts or rookies.

Better than the year before no doubt. But that was a very low bar let's be honest. And folks here were borderline hyping up our OL as a fringe top 10 unit in the offseason. I knew better than to join that. I hope to be pleasantly surprised as the season progresses. But I'll be prepared for inconsistency I'm a Panthers fan. -

Man you know I am no Sam Darnold or Baker Mayfield fan but the run game helped out the oline a great deal last season and when that wasn't there those guys took some big hits. -
If we don't think he's worth giving reps to cut him loose. We've been getting eyes on him in camp too supposedly. The RB position is one where you can find a stud here and there much easier than some others. I just don't want to reach the midway point in the season and be looking back thinking why didn't we do more. I assume you feel the same. With that in mind at bare minimum we should be looking at other teams cuts and possibly even signing someone like Fournette as others have mentioned. If we had a veteran QB I would be a little less concerned about this but with a rookie and a sketchy oline we need to put as much support and depth around this kid as possible.

I'm assuming this is heavy sarcasm. The OL is the position group that's been holding this team back for years. I'd love to see a total 180 and the oline become a strength for us for years to come. But it's been more of the same thus far. Best thing to do is prepare for some level of disappointment there. -
Nobody develops from the sideline.

Hmm seems like a waste of his and our time then. It would be nice to keep churning the position group given our lead back is nursing a groin injury which can linger.

Need to get a good look at Peoples honestly don't know why we didn't against the Giants.

The local media here is cheeks and has been for a long time save for a few rare ones who have left.

There are no free lunches here the coaching staff knows what's at stake and no matter how many keystrokes are wasted about how it's only preseason they are not at all satisfied with some of the things we've seen. At this point both sides of the fence of this are overbearing and need to take a break or two.

Some folks just like to lick boots but they all eventually join the fracas if things get bad enough. Overall I understand your sentiment. But I wouldn't allow yourself to get this emotionally invested in it this year. Take it week by week. Call it like you see it results wise. Try to have some fun because I do think as the regular season progresses the offense will grow with Bryce and Thomas Brown as the coordinator.

Welcome to the worldwide web.

The "just happy to be here" and "hey at least we have a football team" mentality in full effect.
-
They were both previously let go from their first head coaching job like I said. Risky at best either way. Such is the life of a Panthers fan.
-
Could end up that way. Or could be neither were going to be the answer we needed. Both candidates have already had their chance at the big seat previously regardless of how you might feel their exit was fair or unfair. All in all it comes back to this franchise seems to be snakebit. What can ya do?

Some of the same folks calling out people for recognizing another ugly outing preseason or not also carried water for Matt Rhule once upon a time. I respect the dedication but don't get it twisted like you're so high above it all and others are just reactionary.
