Tepper rejected Steichen over a zoom meeting and because he was in too big of a hurry to get some good press after taking one on the chin with Rhule. Obviously he isn't fully responsible for the awful gameday coaching we've seen because he isn't out there designing the scheme or calling plays but he did hire this clown show. He also hired Scott Fitterer who with what we know now is looking more and more like a yes man for Tepper in many ways and it's impossible to know how much of the wheeling and dealing Scott was once known for in a positive light was being pushed by our owner. This shitshow is of his creation in multiple ways. He's clearly very hands on. The buck stops there. Arguing otherwise is a major cope.

Thanos must have snapped his fingers and made his own post here disappear

Thanks I'll definitely give that a look. "The movies that made us" on Netflix had an episode about Jurrasic Park that delved into this subject some too. Those guys and all others who created practical effects through the 80's and 90's are true artists and legends. One of the scariest movies I've ever seen is the original "The Thing". Still holds up damn good 40 years later.

How in the absolute fug did anyone buy into this point guard nonsense? Idiots!

The Terminator is such a damn good film. Way ahead of it's time. I miss great sci-fi movies with practical effects. CGI looks nice for creating fantasy worlds but it's hollow and way overdone now. I've tried to like the Avatar movies but they have no rewatch appeal for me.

Apparently this happened months ago and the Hornets knew about it and still brought him back. Some honest points being brought up about the front offices willingness to sweep this under the rug but quickly release Kai Jones over his public mental health breakdown. Trashy.

Honestly I assumed and part of me hoped Dalton would look like total asswater against Seattle. Because it would drive home the notion that our scheme and coaching are horrific and therefore absolve Bryce Young to some degree of this debacle. Andy surprised me though and in turn kicked up my concern level for our #1 pick a few more notches. I think our offense is certainly not good but I think the people saying our receiving weapons are completely awful are overstating their case to a degree to protect Bryce. There's as much of that going on as there is a certain level of overreaction to every little thing Bryce does. Both things can be true. As I said though I welcome the game where Bryce Young truly arrives. Hopefully that day comes before we've all eaten each other.
-
Ah yes he's a stat padder but so far our only glimmer of hope from our #1 overall pick has been in garbage time. Speaking of narratives.

Lipstick on a pig.

Dalton is mediocre at best and 35 years old my guy. But we don't have to agree no worries appreciate the input.
-
Others are creating a narrative though. We are 0-5. Our offense has looked awful for a number of reasons but the truth of the matter is whether it is him being held back or the coaching staff being inept the best our passing game has looked was with Andy Dalton on the road. So sure when Orlovsky is like hey man you guys are being unfair to Bryce Young I'm going to say okay well let's see something on the field. We've seen glimpses. But when the game was out of reach. I'm waiting on that moment when Young takes over. I'll be cheering as loud as anyone else if and when it happens.

I am not saying he is entirely without credibility to give an opinion. But if his Sam Darnold takes were just a throwaway remark he made a few times it would be one thing. But it's worth noting since he went all in on Sam. He was outspoken about it. It's worth mentioning in the context of him putting it all on the line for another QB that is under a cloud of skepticism here. We don't have to like it. But it's relevant.
-
No Darnold slander? I'm deranged?
-
And? He also thought Sam Darnold was going to be a franchise QB. This same place once highly regarded Chris Simms opinions on QB's too. Whoever aligns with the narrative is the new popular name.

Any coach worth his salt knows how to compliment opposing talent leading up to a game. Rest assured he and his staff have watched the film on Bryce Young and they have got to be licking their chops over this matchup.

Would you find the Panthers going 0-17 funny?
frankw replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes you have to laugh to keep your sanity at this point. But if there were any silver lining it would mean David Tepper and his wife look like the two biggest clowns in the NFL. -
I agree between the three of Brown Burns and Chinn he would be the odd man out right now. But we've really mismanaged this secondary and not drafting well on top of it stings. What's done is done though.
-
What else is he supposed to say? Did someone think he was going to mock us for saying no thanks to CJ Stroud? He's a good coach and he's right Bryce has plenty of talent. But smoke is smoke. Hopefully we don't get taken to the woodshed.
-
In general? Not a lot given our desperation teams know we are flailing. Mid rounder maybe. But I'm not in favor of a straight up swap for a player his own team can't stand. If we want to take a risk on Jeudy we can do so without trading a player who isn't a locker room problem whatsoever for a guy who could likely end up being another Robbie Anderson.
-
Sure but how many of those teams took the ass backwards approach of trading your best WR in years to draft your QB? We are victims of our own circumstance and Fitterer created this.

Tepper and his soccer facility so glad he is ‘excited’
frankw replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
It wouldn't be a Tepper thread without some good old fashioned boot licking. -
A host on Lions flagship radio proposes Williams + first for Burns
frankw replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
Desperate times. Knowing how these things go for the Panthers Burns will probably play his ass off for the next several seasons after we trade him. -
What a sad state of affairs. From drafting the NFL equivalent of Steph Curry and the next Drew Brees to calling up any front office that will pickup the phone to see if they'll drop an elite WR into our laps. Anyone remember Crank Yankers? The Panthers front office is Special Ed on the phone line right now.
-
I don't have much faith in Clifford but I hope the players can give me something decent to watch this season.
-
Oof that would be a robbery. If I'm trading for Jeudy I'll give a mid rounder at best. No more.
