No doubt I don't question his or anyone else's loyalty here in that aspect. We've done fug all for the last 5 years since that Pittsburgh game. Anyone here still repping and talking Panthers is a die hard. But Cam was also the only MVP in franchise history and displayed clear traits both physically and as a leader that even if he frustrated you at times still made you say that kid is special. We'll see what shakes out with Bryce Young under Thomas Brown.

For a rookie he's been quite solid. Also exudes leadership for his locker room. But he makes a huge difference in that offense. He's 4th in yard per pass attempts 4th in yards per game and has the 10th best passer rating. Legitimately if you're trying to poke holes in his game while propping up Bryce Young you have no credibility.

That one hits hard. Congratulations to him. I'm very thankful for those memories.

In the end he's another version of Rivera. Word was he wanted to make Holcomb his DC which to say the least was not popular. Does that remind you of Rivera and Eric Washington? Just raise the bar from here folks. We already canned Ron. We've seen what it's like with Rhule Wilks as the interim and now Reich. We need to bring in a younger coach. Just one who has obviously coached at this level and not some used car salesman from college.

At this point Wilks has reached mythical levels for some. I don't get it but to each his own. He's a good man. Decent coach. But the legend and attachment that has been created from our underwhelming finish last season to the point people are going on the attack is not healthy for anyone.

This is reasonable. Honestly I would have taken Flores before Wilks his teams at least had some success.

Locked On Panthers Trade Deadline Primer with Mike Kaye
frankw replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well for however anyone may feel about Ellis and his takes on the team at least he is humble enough to address concerns and own up to any misconceptions. That's commendable. These are difficult times. Yet again. There should be fair tough questions asked of ownership front office coaching and players. It's good to try to spread things evenly though. Much is said of the defense and Burns which has been lacking. But the offense has got to start holding up their end of the bargain. We need a good showing at home against the Texans. However if it's more of the same ineptitude then everyone on down to the water boy deserves a good tongue lashing. Hopefully they rise to the occasion. -
Well some folks on the huddle did tell me Darnold would look good in San Fran I don't know what Purdy will be long term but I do think the narrative around him reached obnoxious levels and was fed by the league because of where he was drafted so it's good to see that bubble finally burst. And it was a beautiful sight seeing Shanahan look dejected on the sidelines. With how weak the NFC is they will probably bounce back though.

Well in fairness Wilks didn't throw two very ugly 4th quarter interceptions.

Reading this thread I didn't expect Brock Purdy to have a higher YPC than McCaffrey. -
People want something to confirm or deny their bias and especially so in football. We played that game over Newton for years. That's when you also rely on what you are seeing with your own eyes. I mean Dalton is basically a jag and expendable at this stage in his career. That game we played against him and the Saints to close the season was one of the ugliest I've ever seen. Just horrendous football. When we signed him I audibly groaned. I thought for sure in a place like Seattle he would have looked shaky at best. But he hung in there and delivered some strikes. Same oline same weapons. And we didn’t get shut out of the scoreboard for three whole quarters. All I ask from the #1 pick is give me something worth watching that we can build on. Then we can begin to get back to more productive conversations and stop feeding on one another.

I figured someone would mention Burrow as if he isn’t injured and having the worst season of his career. This thread has veered back into the usual coping mechanisms. All of our questions can and should be answered in our next game. At home. New playcaller. #1 pick against the #2 pick. This game has to be one where despite all odds and circumstances we see Bryce Young indisputably rise to the occasion. I need to see it. I hope to see it.

We can split hairs but at the end of the day Wilks couldn't get it done. If he could have gotten us in the playoffs I feel like he pretty much would have been guaranteed the job. Does that mean I think he's a "bad" coach? No not at all. If I could get a do over and had to only choose between him or Reich would I pick Wilks? Sure. I didn't even want Reich he was not on my radar at all and I had to convince myself because he was our first offensive minded head coaching hire. But this hire should have always boiled down to who would be the best coach to grow with our next young QB. We had to have known we were going to make a big splash move for a QB. Bryce Young is 22 years old. Reich and some of the dinosaurs on this staff were never going to grow with him for the next decade. They're already more than long in the tooth. I just don't feel like you're extending the same level of leeway for the coordinators you speak of that you are for Wilks. Even though they aren't necessarily winning the Colts led by Steichen are certainly competing well given the circumstances. But it's water under the bridge now. All that matters is where we go from here. If track record tells us anything it's that the Panthers led by Tepper will probably find a way to make the wrong decision again. We'll see.

We got blown out by this Lions team? Woof. -
Hey nothing wrong with getting ready early lol

This data should be presented with clarification that we have thrown the third most passes in the league and we are 31st in yards per pass attempt.

I don't blame them at all for suing. It's one thing to try to stick up for Miller. It's something else to shame the family of the victim. Seems like there are some folks here that are a reflection of the values of the team currently. That's a shame.

That Todd Hampton guy is a jabroni who has baited people into other false rumors over the last year or so. So many frauds out there.
