I like Bryce scrambling some to a degree but he makes me nervous. Definitely don't want to try to force the issue with him as a rusher.

Reich was terrible but we ran a shitload of plays from shotgun because Bryce was a rookie and nearly all of his snaps in college were from the shotgun. He had very few traditional under center snaps. This was discussed extensively before drafting him. I feel like it's unfair to pin that solely on coaching.

Still insane we didn't last year given how bad we were the season before and we had a first time head coach. But at least Canales is learning.

Expectations as of right now are nothing more than the young players developing and Lee taking the next step as a head coach. Need to see both unequivocally. Beyond that the obvious elephant in the room is LaMelo Ball. I put the odds (and this is being extremely optimistic) of him remaining relatively healthy throughout the bulk of the season at 50/50. If he gets a low grade injury early and puts up absolutely no argument about sitting and collecting millions then you have your answer and we can move forward accordingly.

If they're being cautious that's fine but I saw some comments from Dave where he was displeased with the lack of conditioning from some of our guys in the joint practice. Not a huge deal but also not something to overlook either considering we're about to be heading down to Jacksonville for the season opener within 3 weeks. And needless to say it isn’t going to be any better.

I view it through a different lens. Expectations are extremely low for UDFA's. He has 21 career starts scattered across multiple seasons in random spurts and he's never entered any camp getting starter practice reps. The worst Panthers QB the last several years would be Darnold due to his draft position and the fact he received starting QB practice reps all along and still stunk more often than not. And he had all the phsyical tools any QB could ask for. Plus we paid that dude $27 million and for some reason some folks have more barbs for Walker than him. Strange.

This thread is clearly for amusement more than anything. But yes Walker regardless of how people may feel about him has sadly been one of the better Panthers QB's the last several years. Why that irks some people idk.

I don't know why anyone expected much different from these lists. They are largely based on name recognition and what each team did the year before. Few people in the sports media realm are going to give this team the time of day until the Panthers flip the narrative on it's head. Just how it is.

It seems like he's inferring that more in terms of QB3 not a Dalton replacement. And let's be real. Dalton is 37 and missed multiple games for a thumb sprain. At the end of the day I like Andy the person but I give zero fugs about that. The Saints moved on quick fast and in a hurry and we mock them mercilessly for their QB situation. We need to at least try to be consistent here.
