He isn't Clausen but I wish I could say there were not a few parallels between the two and their passing offenses. It's bad brother there's no sugar coating it. Gotta just call it like it is and at the same time hoping he can regroup and bounce back next season hopefully reinvigorated and with some added bulk which is needed.

The return value was poor I agree but McCaffrey would not be seeing that level of production here with this oline and he would probably be banged up as well. Not to mention we haven't seen a coach with even half the creativity of Shanahan in many years. The more egregious trade was DJ Moore. Top 10 wide receiver and one of our desperate top needs is...

Brock Purdy is ass cheeks.

Dak will blow it eventually against tougher competition. Give it time.

Whew this is definitely a Ron Rivera team. Folk who clamored for Wilks take a good look.
-
People really in here talking about rooting for the Niners lol. Have some dignity ffs.
-
Beyond the oline issues here we just do not push downfield. We could have an elite WR and it wouldn't matter because we would just be throwing screens. The YPA doesn't lie.
-
What we've seen is IMO a tier below Teddy Bridgewater. I hope BY turns it around because the alternative is a bleak mess.

I'm not arguing every single sack is the fault of the oline but that's a high number of sacks. Only the Giants have more. But if we find ourselves looking to blame other QB's for their sacks while shielding Young for the ineptitude of this offense despite the circumstances it looks inconsistent at best.

So Sam Howell isn't working with super dependable elite WR's after all? And he's been sacked about 50 times?

Ah yes filling up the IR so there is an excuse to fall back on. The faces and names in the front office change but it's more of the same. I cannot see how anyone can still defend Fitterer at this point.

It was discussed at length here at the time. But anyone that expressed concern about it was shouted down and attacked.

You don't remember what created the cheesy moniker of Riverboat Ron? Yes punting and settling for field goals made him unpopular in his early games here. Which seems like a crazy notion given what we have come to accept now. I concur there are multiple areas in need of refinement and issues to be solved. Unfortunately if you watch how defenses play us they have taken to sitting on the short routes waiting to be fed pick sixes. They know what's coming. That's deeper than coaching and lack of talent unfortunately. I agree about Tepper. He may never change. He is the definition of ego driven. I do not think he even necessarily cares about winning. He only wants to win if it's his way and he's heavily involved so he can brag.

Well that's the thing Carl you have to be able to at least move the ball at a decent pace if we want to win. Sitting at dead last in yards per attempt is not going to achieve that goal. We have lowered the bar to where we look at settling for field goals as a small victory whereas we used to eviscerate Ron Rivera's teams for it.
-
I know it eats at you that Bryce Young still hasn't led an offense to surpass that. Chin up Carl. It could happen. Here's to hoping

Still the most amount of points on the season whether we like it or not. That's pathetic any way you slice it.

Excellent team win last night. Even Gordon Hayward finally showed up. Fug the Celtics.

Just an observation but it concerns me how no defender remotely gives a poo that Tremble is running free across the middle. Now I'll be the first to say Tommy has had an up and down career with us thus far but he hasn't been developed either. I think he could be a pretty good TE with the right coaching. Back to the point though. The defenders all head toward the sideline with Mingo because they have been well coached and watch film. They knew where the ball was going because they know Bryce's tendencies. More often than not there is absolutely no threat of Bryce Young throwing downfield. We can blast Reich the OL Mingo or whomever. The tape doesn't lie.

He is terribad and a dinosaur no question. Even if we move on I would not expect a quick turnaround. As woeful as his scheme is the question is how much of it is to fit Bryce. The same scheme was not worst in the league with Dalton.
-
People keep making this their first line of defense. Yet our highest offensive output on the season with this same group was from Dalton.

Not perfect that's never been an expectation or demand. In fact before the season I said many times to people here who were fully being homers expecting him to lead us to the playoffs in his rookie season that they should cool their jets and that he will throw interceptions and that's fine. I have no issues with turnovers if we're actually moving the ball down the field. But what I got was frankly an inferior version of Teddy Bridgewater ball. Yes Teddy Bridgewater attempted to move the ball downfield more often than Bryce Young. That isn't up for debate at this point. I had Stroud as 1 Bryce as 2a and Richardson as 2b. When we selected Bryce I supported him and even told people who ridiculed him for his height to pipe down. I've said really very little about his size since the draft that's not even my concern. He seems to lack the phsyical traits to be a franchise QB at this point. There just isn't anything there that stands out and makes you say wow that's why they drafted this kid first overall. I'm getting the sense you're just suggesting I hate Bryce Young and if such is the case we have no further to go in this conversion so I'll catch you on the flip side I guess.

OL PFFs grades are out. *Warning for the weak stomach*
frankw replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I appreciate your info from the game film. We agree completely about getting the ball downfield. Now. Let's dig just a bit deeper on that. Is that lack of any downfield threat from both our QB deciding where to go with the ball and our receivers being not good making the job of our oline pass blocking significantly more difficult? The run game was fine yesterday for the most part. Teams see all this on tape. Many things need to change with this team. But Bryce Young has to prove he can beat defenses with his arm and until he does they will keep playing him the same way. -
The Giants have been a hot mess this year and DaBoll has often looked nothing like he did last season. Barkley is usually on the injury list more often than not. I have seen now two different NFC backup QB's who went undrafted play above their circumstances for the Bears and the Giants two of the current worst teams in the entire league. Yes we have covered all the Panthers issues. Andy Dalton's one start is still our highest offensive output of the season. We still need to see our #1 pick play above his circumstances despite it all.
